I selected Dancing with a Dead Horse for this week. I can't recall why I picked this book, but I feel a lot of it had to do with it being different than the typical high school book. It seems like it'll be a bit on the dark side, which I kind of enjoy.

Maple (maplerie) | 307 comments I think I'm in a funk. It seems like all the books I was reading during the time I was reading this one just did not fit my fancy. This one, much like most of the others, wasn't bad, I just didn't feel enthused about it. I think it was a self-published, sci-fi/fantasy/supernatural story about a kid who was unjustly accused of murder, without any evidence but a principal's personal feelings about it. it was weird and seemed like a pretty weak plot.

I've noticed that I enter a funk whenever I try to read something right after really loving a book. That may not be relevant to your situation at all :p but I think I just struggle with changing to a different world and accepting that another book can live up to the one that I really liked.
