He smiled sadly and looked down at the table, his voice seemed a little 'weak' as one might say. "I know. Trust me, I think about this every single day."he said. "I'm going to be without you, without my family, without my friends, without my home. But I'll talk to each and every one of you as much as possible."he said.

She smiled, feeling relieved. "Honestly, I had wanted to do that for so long...and I just couldn't help myself. I know it's selfish but...damn"she said.

Gracie turned a little to hug him tightly." I know you will." She said softly snuggling close to him. She knew that the first few days without him would be hard but she would make it until he got back.

Zach smiled just a little," Maybe it's a good thing that you kissed me." He said teasing her,"I don't think it's selfish.. I've wanted to kiss you for a while too."

Gina put a hand to her heart and looked to her husband, "Look at our four beautiful children. They do us such good." she said softly looking at her other three boys.

Andrew nodded in agreement, "Yes they do sweetheart."he said. He looked over at his eldest son and then his second eldest, and then Jordan, and lastly Dj.

She smiled,"Good."she hugged him and rested her head on his shoulder.

Gracie stayed cuddled against Jordan for a little while not moving from her spot. She smiled a little at his parents glad that she got along with them so well

He chuckled softly," I suppose so." He answered putting one arm around her

Gina smiled, "I have some pie, is anyone hungry for some desert?"she asked with motherly grace.

Kelsey snuggled up against his side and smiled,"Thank you."she said

Gracie smiled a little, at Gina," I can help you," she said starting to get up.

Zach smiled at her and hugged her a bit

Gina smiled,"Oh that would be lovely." Gina always saw Gracie as the daughter she never had.

She smiled and hugged his side, "I bet you I can swim more laps than you."she said raising a brow.

Gracie smiled and moved away from Jordan to help Gina. "I would love to help." She answered

Zach laughed," Yeah right." He said looking at her

Gine smiled and clapped her hands,"Wonderful! Let's get started."she said with a warm smile as she left her seat.

Kelsey ushed off of him playfully and looked at him with her mouth open,"WHAT ever!!!"she said loudly.

Gracie smiled and got up too," I'm coming." She said following her to the kitchen to get the desert

Zach laughed a little and watched her," I don't think you can." He teased her

As Gracie and Gina did their work in the kitchen, Jordan, his father, and his brothers had a serious conversation about what was coming his way, and about taking care of Gracie. This was Jordan's number one priority, he worried about Gracie, and how she would do. He wanted his family to take care of her.

She looked at him and stuck her tounge out playfully. "Well I don;t think YOU can." she said. As they made their way to the lap pool she stood between the lines, so she could have her lane. "Ok...tell me when your ready."she said watching his cautiously.

Gracie and Gina got the dessert ready while the guys were talking. She looked over at Jordan's mother and smiled a little wondering how she made it when Jordan's dad was away. She sighed a little not sure if she was completely ready for what was to come her way.

Zach laughed and poked her gently. "I can so." He said jumping Into the lap pool. "I'm ready now.@ he answered

Gina looked over at Gracie as she made a pie crust. "Gracie, sweetheart are you ok?"she asked setting the pie crust down. She walked over a few steps to Gracie and placed a hand on her shoulder.

Kelsey held her mouth open and made a noise, "Not fair!"she said as she quickly dove into the pool. He totally just won himself a good 30 second head start, and now she would have to hurry and catch up with him.

Gracie looked over at Gina," Oh well I guess I'm alright." She said softly," I just don't know how you made it when your husband was gone." She looked over at her as she put her hand on her shoulder

Zach smiled to himself as he swam away. He made it to the other side of the pool and turned to go back

Gina gave a motherly smile,"I stayed away from the news. Don't listen to the news, don't check the websites, ignore it. That makes it worse."she said softly.

She was behind him, not by too much, but by enough to know that she would not win this one.

Gracie nodded, "Alright I will try my hardest not to do those things." She replied softly.

He grinned as he hit the other side of the pool with his hand

Gina nodded and decided to give Gracie some space, she didn't want to smother her.

Kelsey came up right behind him pretty much out of breath. She sighed and looked over at him,"i'm mad at you."

Gracie sighed softly as she finished helping Gina. She was glad for the space she was given but also for the support given by her boyfriend's mother.

Zach looked over at her and grinned," Now why in the world would you be mad at me?" He asked

A few minutes later Gina came out of the kitchen with a bowl of some sweet desert concotion she had come up with. Jordan looke at his mom, and waited for Gracie to come out. He slid his chair back and stood up gracefully. He walked in the kitchen and wrapped his arms around Gracie,"What's wrong sweetheart?"he asked placing his head on her shoulder.

She gave him a face and stuck her bottom lip out as if she was actuallly pouting. "You know why."she said slipping under the rope that seperated their lanes. She swam around and her front faced his back. She wrapped her arms around his neck and she wrapped her legs around his waist. "Meanie!"she said in his ear.

Gracie stayed in the kitchen for a few seconds as she tried to compose herself. She wasn't expecting Jordan to come up to her and hug her. She jumped a little startled by him, but wrapped her arms around him tightly and buried her face in his neck, "I'm fine just got a little overwhelmed that's all." she said softly not at all her normal self.

Zach grinned at her, "Because I beat you?" he asked innocently as he watched her but didn't move as she swam around him. He chuckled softly when she put her arms around his neck and his legs around his waist. "I am not." He replied quietly putting his hands on her legs.

Jordan slid his hands down her back a little ways, towards her lower back. He rocked her back and forth and kissed her neck and her head softly. "It's ok sweetheart." he said. He placed his head on top of hers and closed his eyes. He was pretty sure he knew what she was talking about, but he figured bringing it up would just make things harder and worse.

She put her head on his shoulder and laughed a little bit and sighed. "I just let you win, I didn't want to hurt your feelings or anything."she said smiling to herself. She pointed towards the lazy river that was on the other side of the pool area, "Onwards towards the river of laziness!" she exclaimed in a ridiculous voice.

Gracie hugged him tight as he held her. She didn't care that right now they were supposed to be with his family spending time with them, she just wanted him to tell her that everything was going to be fine. Gracie nodded a little against his shoulder," I know." She whispered not saying anymore than that in fear she would start crying.

Zach chuckled and looked over at her," You did not let me beat you... You don't let me beat you at anything we do." He said laughing. He looked at where she was pointing," Do I look like your horse?" He asked walking towards the lazy river

Jordan just held her and stayed quiet. Words weren't needed right now, he always worried about when he left, always. Ever since he told her in high school what he was going to he worried, but he knew that he had to be strong...for her especially. He grabbed her hands and laced their fingers together. "I promise that I will write to you every day, twice a day." he said giving her a small nudge. "I love you so much."he said softly.

She smiled and kept her head on his shoulder,"Ummm..yes! That's exactly what you are."she said smiling brightly. She squeezed her legs tighter around his waist and kissed his cheek. "Actually you're my trusty steed."she said.

Gracie stayed pressed against him as she tried to compose herself. She knew that if she cried now or even tomorrow, Jordan would worry even more than he already was. She didn't pull away from him until he took her hands in his. She looked up at him and smiled just a little," And I'll write you every time I get a letter." She replied," I love you too." What he didn't know was that she had already written him a letter and was going to slip it into his bag before he left the next day.

Zach chuckled softly as he walked with her, "Well at least I'm good for something." He replied holding her. He went back to the water and grabbed her a tube to sit in," Oh and how is that?" He asked with a grin

He smiled at her and kissed her forehead. "You ready for some desert?"he asked tilting his head a little bit. He tipped her chin up and kissed her softly,"Keep your head up princess."he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the dining room slowly. He radiated confidence and looked at his family members with a bright smile.

She smiled and slipped off of his back. She smiled and stood next to him,"Well...you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. You are very loyal and people trust you easily."she said with a certain seriousness in her voice. She grabbed a tube as well assuming that the tube he grabbed was for himself.

She smiled a little more and closed her eyes briefly as she nodded a little," Yeah let's go." She said softly. Gracie kissed him back softly, "I'm trying." She replied following him into the dining room smiling at him.

He looked down at her and grinned," Well I'm glad someone thinks that.. What are you doing?" He asked as he watched her

He pulled out her chair for her and as he did so he winked at her with a smirk. It was something he usually did when she was mad at him, or when she was in a bad mood. He then sat next to her and placed his hand on her thigh. "Sorry about that."he said to his family.

She furrowed her brow and gave him a look,"Uhhh....grabbing a tube?"she said.

She smiled a little more as she sat down in her chair and managed not to blush too much. She moved her chair in a little bit and relaxed a little more when Jordan put his hand on her leg.

He nodded," Yes I are that, but that's why I got this one.. Silly." He said grinning about to at her

She blushed a little bit,"Oooohhhh....well I didn't know that. Silly."she said. She raised an eyebrow,"Then what about you..where's your tube?"

He laughed softly," I can just share with you." He replied poking her side softly

She giggled and let go of her tube,"Ok."she said.

He chuckle softly and put the tube in the water and waited for her to get in," You really are silly." He stated

She smiled and winked at him just before she awkwardly made her way into the tube. She laughed and looked at him, one of her legs was inside the tube, and the other was out. She was laughing and her face was turning a nice shade of tomato red,"What is wrong with me?!"she cried out hoisting the rest of herself into the tube.

He laughed softly as he watched her still holding the tube still as she climbed into it awkwardly. He continued to laugh at her as she turned red," I was asking myself the same thing."
He said teasing her

Jordan sighed. Today was the day. It was harder than he thought. Even last night...once they got home. Jordan treated Gracie like a princess and pulled out all the atops to make their last night together special. He sat on his side of the bed with his boots kn between his spread apart feet. Gracie was in the shower...he wanted to try to make this day as normal as possible even though it qould be anything but that. He sighed and ran his hands through his hair. He shook his head and closed his eyes. He got up and walked into the bathroom, he couldn't help himself. He opened the shower curtain to his girlfriend. He looked at her and just kissed her. It was all so rash and random but...he was lost. His hair was becoming wet and he started to cry, "I can't do this."he said in between kisses.

She smiled and just looked at him for a moment. She was now in the tube, her elbows were rested on each side and her hands were loosly grabbing the handles. She swung her lega back and forth and broke eye contact

"Were's you tube?"she asked softly.

Gracie had made it through lunch with his family, the induction ceremony, and small get together afterwards. She smiled slightly at how Jordan had treated her the night before and how special they had made their last night together. Gracie had cried a little when he was still sleeping and she was next to him. Now she was in the shower getting ready to let him leave her for a while. Gracie jumped slightly when Jordan pulled the shower curtain back and started kissing her. Instead of pulling away like she would have if it were a normal day she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. " Yes you can Jordan.." She whispered tearing up," You have to."

Zach grinned a little and pushed her gently into the current. He hung onto the side of the tube as they floated along in a comfortable silence

He put his forehead against hers. He let the water get him wet, he didn't care. "I can't. "He said softly. "I can't leave you."he said. He was letting everything he said he wouldn't do....happen. He felt awful. "I love you."he said softly.

She let him and she just listened to the water. She looked down at his hand and she placed hers over it.

Gracie closed her eyes a little as the water ran over them both. "Yes you can. You'll be fine." She whispered holding him tightly," I love you too, and I don't want you to go but you have to."

He rested his chin on the side of the tube. He smiled a little and turned his hand over and started to play with her fingers as they went along on the river

He pulled away and just looked at her. He placed his thumb on her cheek and softly rubbed circles in her cheek. "Finish your shower. I'm going to make you breakfast."he said with a soft smile.

She smiled to herself and let him do so. She closed her eyes and leaned back, trying to relax.

She opened her eyes and looked at him. She smiled softly at his touch and only closed her eyes a little. Gracie nodded, "Alright." She said softly," I'll be down in a little bit."

He grinned at her softly and watched the water as they floated slowly along. He continued to play with her fingers gently

Jordan left the bathroom leaving the door open. He tried to stop thinking so much, so he went downstairs, turned on the tv and began to make some eggs, bacon and toast. Now Jordan wasn't the beat cook, but he sure did try...and the bacon only came out a little burnt.

Kelsey opened her eyes and lookeed over at her best friend. She couldn't help but smile. She rubbed circles ontop of his hand with her thumb, and suddenly out of the blue she began to hum softly.

Gracie finished her shower not long after he left the room. She quickly dried off and started to get dressed. She sighed a little and pulled on her favorite tshirt that was still a little dressy and a pair of shorts. She walked downstairs and into the kitchen with a soft smile for Jordan.

Zach kept his eyes on the water as the continued down the path. He looked over at her as she started to hum and chuckled softly before going silent to listen to her

Jordan had a plate for her with everything he made. He smiled at her and wrapped an arm around her. "Hey. You look beautiful as always."he said. He kissed her forehead and grabbed her plate for her.

Kelsey hummed along. Then she stopped when a group of boys passed them up flipping in the water, splashing each other and messing around like boys do. She just tried to ignored them as much as she could.

Gracie smiled a little more and slipped her arm around him too," Well thanks." She said blushing a little," You don't look half bad either." She replied

He smiled as he listened to her hum. He frowned slightly as the boys were playing next to them. He gently pushed them past a little faster

He smiled and handed her her plate. "Here you go sweetheart."he said. He grabbed hia plate, grabbed aome utensils and walked over to the couch...which was where they ate most of their meals.

Kelsey just rolled her eyes, her little brother's friends were the exact same way. Crazy. She let go of her tube and slipped through the hole. She came up right beside Zach and amiled.

Gracie smiled a little and took the plate from him. "Thanks." She said softly," But shouldn't I have made you breakfast?" She asked looking up at him as she followed him to the couch.

Zach watched her an then looked at the few kids messing around. He smiled when she got out of the tube," We used to do that." He commented softly to her

He shook his head. "No. Not at all."he said he sat down and waited for her to sit before he would eat.

She smiled and looked back, "I know."
