The Unidentified Redhead (Redhead, #1) by Alice Clayton by Alice Clayton
Rating: 2.5 Stars
Finished: 2/16/14

I really, really wanted to like this book. I loved Wallbanger and I have to say I'm so glad I read that before I read this. I think if I had read this one first, I may never have read Wallbanger and that would be a real shame since Wallbanger is a solid, laugh out loud five star read.

I really liked the snarkiness of Grace and Jack, especially the way they went back and forth in the beginning. And yeah it was kind of nice that there wasn't any drama that got between them in this book, it was basically just the two of them finding each other and falling in love. But I don't think it was refreshing enough and I really had a hard time keeping myself going. If I didn't need the book for multiple reading challenges, I might have DNF'd it.

The Unidentified Redhead has it's moments, but it's definitely not a full three star read. I won't be reading the other books in the series, although I did cheat and read the end of the third book just to see what happens (nothing too exciting that I didn't already know from spoilers). I really kind of want to go read Wallbanger again to wash this out of my head...especially since I learned while reading someone else's review that this was real person fan fiction...which I honestly have no problem with, but since I learned that half way through the book, I could no longer picture a hot Jack, I just kept picturing Robert Pattinson.

Book: Fiancé by Friday (The Weekday Brides, #3) by Catherine Bybee Fiancé by Friday by Catherine Bybee.
Date Read: 2/18/14
Rating: 4 Stars (3.5 Stars)

Review:
This is the 3rd book in the Weekday Bride Series, and so far I have really liked it. This probably was not the best out of them and probably the only reason its not a 5 star for me is that for the first 35% of the book, I was bored out of my mind. There wasn't much happening for the hero and the heroine in the beginning, rather it seems like background and information for the next book in the series. A little bit of it would have been okay, but so much was overkill. But the books picks up after that, and it was wonderful. It was fast paced, there was romance, there was suspense, and it once again was all about the two main characters and had a great ending. The mystery was solved easy enough, but it really made for an interesting read.

Lover Undercover (McCade Brothers, #1) by Samanthe Beck by Samanthe Beck
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Finished: 2/22/14

There was a lot to like about Lover Undercover and if it weren’t for a couple of things that bugged me so much I couldn’t really overlook them, I would have given it a higher rating. Overall I liked Trevor and Kylie and the way their relationship developed. I understood where she was coming from and I like that that Trevor pursued her and didn’t let her just use him for sex the way she seemed to want to. My only problem with Kylie is that she seemed really wishy washy. She talked a lot about wanting to accomplish her dreams and how Trevor would distract her, but then she constantly rolled over for her sister Stacey. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Trevor calls her out on it.

What I didn’t really like about the book was Stacey and the way Kylie just went along with everything that Stacey wanted. For someone who was supposed to be smart and strong, Kylie was a pushover and not very bright. She let her sister talk her into stripping and eventually lying to the police. The lying to the police led to awkward moments with Trevor calling Kylie Stacey during moments where you don’t want someone else’s name coming off of your lovers lips. But some of those moments, although awkward because of the name thing, were actually really hot. There was definitely no lack of chemistry between Trevor and Kylie regardless of who she was when they were together.

While the suspense part of the book wasn’t really that suspenseful, it was still interesting and I didn’t see the killer coming at all. I will definitely read more by Samanthe Beck in the future. She’s got a great voice and relatable characters and some hot, hot lovin’ which is always great.

Book: The Italian's Stolen Bride by Emma Darcy.
Date Finished: 2/23/14
Rating: 2 Stars

Review:
Italian's Stolen Bride by Emma Darcy was an okay book. It had a good premise, hero and heroine were separated by misunderstanding, caused by the hero's family. After six years, the hero finally finds out the truth and that he has a son. The hero I liked because he does a lot to redeems himself to the heroine. I think though that it became more about his family and getting along with them than the romance between the hero and heroine which made the story boring. I was kind of disappointed with most of the story, and I just lost most of my interest.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Ok ladies quick update. Madison will no longer be playing. She's missed 2 reviews now and is pretty busy with school. I sent her a pm earlier and have yet to hear back. I did offer her to be a shadow player where she could still play along but wouldn't really be on the team so it wouldn't help or hurt y'all. Y'all are good to go since the 3 of y'all's reviews are in. With it being this early in the game still we should get a back up player. If y'all have any friends you think would be interested feel free to invite them and I'll also do the same.

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Thanks Jenne for letting us know. I'll see if I can find someone to play with us too. If we don't get someone for this roll I'm more than willing to read two books just so we have the same amount of reviews as all the other teams. Just let me know.

Hina and Wanda, I rolled a 5, so you can read book 19 in the series, book 1 in a series, book 9 in a series, a stand alone or the alternative which is that the book at least partially takes place in Texas.

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments There's something about the adds on Goodreads that if I don't close the browser before taking a call, the page constantly refreshes and shows up to the IT department as I was on the website over 100 times in the day. Not really sure how it all works, but it's total BS since Goodreads is way less of a distraction than Pinterest. lol

Wanted (Most Wanted, #1) by J. Kenner by J. Kenner
Rating: 4 Stars
Finished: 2/25/14

I really enjoyed J. Kenner’s Stark Trilogy and was intrigued by Evan Black when he was briefly introduced. I was really excited to learn that he was getting a book of his own and that his story wouldn’t be drawn out, but would instead be wrapped up in one book and that the rest of the trilogy would be books about his two best friends.

Evan is gorgeous, powerful and super mysterious. He’s ridiculously intriguing, I’m not sure anyone would deny wanting to know more about him. I immediately couldn’t put the book down because I wanted to figure him out. The story is told from Angelina’s POV (or Angie or Lina depending on who’s talking to her) and she’s been in love with Evan for years. Even with those feelings involved she doesn’t have him up on a pedestal. When she’s told he’s up to illegal activities, she’s not surprised, but she knows him well enough to know what he would and wouldn’t do, illegal or not, there are some lines he won’t cross.

Angie and Evan are made for each other. They are both looking for something that makes them feel alive. I really enjoyed watching them discover how great they were together and how they no longer needed the other things that gave them the thrills that they were looking for.

I am really looking forward to reading Tyler and Cole’s books. They are almost as fascinating as Evan and I really love Angie’s best friend Kat, so it’ll be great to see her again in Cole’s story. I also hope that we see more of Angie and Evan in the other books. This one ended perfectly for them, but I always like to check in on the couples that I really like.

Book: Woman On The Run by Lisa Marie Rice Woman On The Run by Lisa Marie Rice
Read: 2/26/14
Rating: 5 Stars

Review:
I was really excited to Rice's Woman on the Run. I read the Midnight series about two years ago and haven't read anything by the author since then. And it was a great book to be reintroduced back to the author. The heroine, Julie Devaux witnesses a murder and is put in the witness protection program and shifted to a tiny nowhere town in Idaho. Going from big city life to one where she can't even make it to a bookstore is hard for her. But then she meets, rancher and former SEAL, Sam Cooper. Their attraction is instantaneous and how she starts falling for the small town. The plot line is pretty predictable, but I still loved reading it. Now it wasn't all hearts and roses, sometime Julia, a.k.a. Sally just annoyed me so much, with the whining and dramatics...I mean its really not the end of the world to move to a small town, and all the people trying to keep her safe and all she is thinking about is its better not to live at all, just made me want to shake her. Thankfully, there weren't that many moments like that. Definitely worth a read.

I will be finishing two books today and tomorrow to finish another challenge which just leaves me Saturday to do this book. So, I am going with one on my Kindle since I do not have the time to go to the library. I will read A Dangerous Talent by Aaron Elkins which was published in 2012. Will be a close squeeze as I also have a symphony concert to attend and a birthday dinner for my son--Don't fear--I can stay up really late on Friday since I do not have to wake up as early as during the week.
