Review:
Following the events of Kitty Goes to Washington, Kitty just wants to get away from everything and has retreated to a cabin in the woods. But her holiday from the supernatural madness that is her life doesn't last all that long: Someone is trying to scare her off with bloody souvenirs on the porch and a curse to go with them, Cormac arrives on her doorstep with a freshly lycanthropy-infected Ben and asks for her help, and a dangerous creature none of them know how to deal with is terrorizing the area. Fast-paced, entertaining and filled with action as always, this was another fun quick read while Kitty continues to grow as a character - looking forward to more!

This book was hilarious, suspenseful and even romantic. These books in general will have you laughing out loud within the first ten pages. Stephanie is a lingerie sales woman turned bounty hunter. Her trusty side-kick is a pocketbook full of pepper spray, handcuffs, a stun gun and a revolver if she remembers to take it from its hiding place in the cookie jar along with Lula - an ex hooker. With some help from Ranger, Morelli, Grandma Mazur this book is sure to make your sides hurt.

The wheel of fortune continues to turn at the French court of 1315 in the third book of Maurice Druon's outstanding historical fiction series. Fuelled by ambition, greed and lust for power, the huge cast of characters continues to plot and scheme against each other behind the scenes, spinning an ever wider web of secrets and conspiracies that ensnares the reader as much as the characters themselves and makes these books impossible to put down - history brilliantly brought to life!

I've loved stories about Robin Hood in all their incarnations ever since I was a child, so this was a must-read for me. Scarlet is a fun twist on the legends in which Will Scarlet is a girl in boys' clothes with an explosive temper, a love for swearing, deadly knife skills - and a secret that just might get her and all her friends killed as her hidden past catches up with her. With a mixture of adventure and romance and a great protagonist, this was a quick and highly entertaining read.

Review:
I've read a few books by Joss Wood and I loved them! This book was no different. I'm a Harelquin Kiss junkie. I haven't read one that I haven't liked.

This book was about a woman, Rowan, who felt out of place growing up. She was the polar opposite of her parents and older brother. Her best friend lived next door with her father and older brother. Rowan gets into some financial trouble and only has two numbers to call, her parents and her best friends brother.

I'm really thrilled with this book. I enjoyed the characters and the way the book took off.

Her family is not all she has to worry about, though: She will have to face the abusive alphas of her old pack again who want her either out of town or dead and two powerful vampires are battling over the position of master of the city, endangering the local wolves in the process.
It's great to watch Kitty's character grow stronger from book to book, and I really liked seeing her interact with her family directly rather than just sometimes over the telephone. I'm not quite convinced by the romance between her and Ben, just doesn't seem like such a great match to me, but let's see where that goes in the next books.

Review:
City of Fallen Angels is one of the most tedious books I’ve read in a long while. No real drama. Tired recycled plotlines and villains. Frankly this book is just dull – disappointingly so when you consider how much better the author can usually write. At times I could have easily given up on finishing City of Fallen Angels altogether but I stuck with it for Simon. Somehow I’m sure that there is a fascinating story in here somewhere about a sweet and nerdy vegetarian Jewish boy who got unexpectedly turned into a vampire, then cursed with the freaky power to literally bring the wrath of God down upon those who would harm him. To my way of thinking this would make a much better story than “Clary and Jace love each other but can’t be together.”

Review:
Set 8 years after Graceling, the final book of the Graceling Realm trilogy takes place in Monsea, where Queen Bitterblue tries to help her kingdom heal from the horrors inflicted on it and its people by her father Leck during the decades of his reign. Shielded from the realities of life in Monsea by her advisors, she begins to sneak out of the castle to explore the city on her own at night while concealing her identity. Meanwhile, surrounded by a web of lies and betrayal she only slowly begins to unravel, Bitterblue barely knows whom she can trust among the people closest to her in the castle.
I absolutely loved Graceling, but was a bit disappointed by Fire, which I liked but did not enjoy quite as much as the first book, so I tried not to get my hopes up too much before reading this book. All doubts I might have had were quickly blown away, however, as Bitterblue did what its predecessor didn't quite achieve and immediately sucked me back into the brilliant, magical world created by Kristin Cashore and didn't let go until the very last page.

Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie
Read:3/26/14
Rated:5 stars
Review:
This book was a great read. This is the first book I've read by Jennifer Crusie.

This book was about a woman who has very low self esteem because of her curvy body. Her favorite feature is her odd taste in footwear, and the belief that a girl can never have too many shoes. She just broke up with her boyfriend David (though never making the plunge and sleeping with him). The only thing that depresses her about her breakup with David is that she won't have a date to his sisters wedding.

While at a bar, her friends goad her into walking up to a cute guy - Cal Morrissey, a serial dater afraid of commitment who just broke up with his therapist girlfriend. As she makes her way to Cal, she inadvertently overhears David making a bet with him that he cannot bed the girl in the grey suit within a month. Being the gal in the grey suit, she's shocked at first, but decides two can play that game, and sets out to make Cal's life miserable for that month (and heck, he'll make a cute date for the wedding). What she doesn't realize is that he didn't take the bet, but rather just bet that he could leave with her (for $10). Though their dinner date is a bust, circumstances keep throwing the two together, and Cal and Minn slowly start to develop feelings for each other - but Minn is still hurt because of the bet. Cal is mystified that his regular charm doesn't work on her - she seems immune. The big question is whether the two can weather the storm and discover their true feelings.

Review:
The second book in the series features Anthony, the oldest of the Bridgerton siblings, in search of a wife to fulfill his duty of providing a son and heir to the title. Determined to under no circumstances make it a love match, he sets his eyes on the most sought after beauty of the season. It is her older sister, however, with whom he finds himself most involuntarily fascinated...
Anthony can, as we already know from The Duke and I, be a stubborn, hot-tempered idiot whose chief redeeming qualities are his protectiveness and sense of responsiblity towards his family. Kate is a great match for him: strong, intelligent, sarcastic, not easily intimidated and fiercely protective of her younger sibling, she is a wonderful character I loved reading about. The family dynamics of both the Bridgertons and the Sheffields also added to making this a highly enjoyable read - all in all a witty, lighthearted romance that put a huge smile on my face. Looking forward to more!

I devoured this book. Wish I could have read it in one setting. I was glad to see "The Reckoning" took us back to "The Summoning's" eerie roots. To a place meant to be a sanctuary, but is eerily much more similar to a prison, where the do-gooders may pull a Judas, and the menaces make for the best allies. While this series may have a red-herring or two, I was so caught up in these characters and their journey that I didn't even notice them until I had read the last page. In my mind, that is a testament to good writing, to see a flaw, and not register it or care because the story is just that good.

The first book in the Finishing School series is a fun YA stempunk adventure set in the same world as Carriger's Parasol Protectorate series which is aimed at older readers, just 25 years earlier.
Despairing of ever being able to turn 14-year-old Sophronia into a proper lady, her mother enrolls her in a finishing school - little suspecting that Mademoiselle Geraldine's provides an education in far more than etiquette. Humour, adventure and quirky characters make for a quick and entertaining read, albeit not quite as brilliant as the Parasol Protectorate books. Fans of the latter will however certainly enjoy meeting younger versions of several familiar characters alongside this series' own protagonists.

I really like the Riley family and that the characters appear in all the books. The women in these three books are strong which is great. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series and hopefully we learn more about Jenna and Ty's life together.

This standalone novel is a gripping YA sci-fi horror story with a premise that is unrealistic yet highly fascinating and becomes absolutely impossible to put down by the second half. Definitely one of the creepiest books I've read in quite a while - suspend all disbelief and strap in for one hell of a ride!

Review: I had some trouble getting into this book because the main character's family was so tough to like. However, once Virginia finally started to stand up to them, I liked it a lot. The teen angst was a little over the top, but I don't think it was unrealistic (unfortunately).
