I guess we need to find out who is willing and go fromm there.
I'm so happy to be on a team with you again, Mandy..

So happy to be playing team challenges again :)
I'm in Europe, so it's really late here now, but I will check back in again tomorrow!
As for the captain spot, I'd prefer not to be the captain, but if absolutely no one else wants to do it, I can :)

Looks like we're only missing Jennifer to check in and then we're a full team!
Can't wait to get started :)

I was hoping it was the Rhonda I've played with before. =D

Has anyone played this before btw? I played most of last round of the 2-book one :)

We do need to choose a name, another task I'm no good at. I'm not very creative at all. Feel free to post your suggestions.
I think we're still missing a player - Jennifer has yet to check in, but we still have a day before we need to roll.
I'm pretty excited about the game and I'm anxious for that first roll.

I am not really good at names either, but one came to mind....
Sweet & Sassy
I will check back in later.

Name Ideas:
Victorious Secret
Screaming Divas (a roller derby team name)
Monkey Spankers (my personal favorite, which may call my character into question).
Smartinis

I'm really bad with names as well... I've always loved the ones that include the team number with some sort of pun, but I can't think of anything good for 5... :(
"Fives to Watch"
"Five Furious Readers" (although we're actually 6 on the team..)
"The Five, 6, 7, 8s"
On another note, should we maybe PM Jennifer since we're fast approaching the first roll?
And on a third note: where do you all live? We can roll from midnight tonight (US Central Time), so it might be handy to know who that would be easiest for - I'm CET (Central European), which means I'm 7 hrs ahead, so I'm happy to roll when I get up the next morning (usually around 9-10 am) if no one else (maybe on the West Coast?) stays up until then :)

I'll send Jennifer a PM.

My vote is for Camilla to roll if she doesn't mind - as far as names for the team, I really have no preference. Should we narrow it down to 2 or 3 and then vote or something?...

I don't mind about the name at all, so if anyone else has any preference (or idea) I'll go along with the majority :)
Let's hope we hear from Jennifer soon, but either way, I think we're fine to roll after midnight.
It's getting quite late here, so I might not check in again tonight - see you all tomorrow for the kick-off! :)

If you ever can't reach me, please PM me. It has been a crazy week for me, so this is my first time on in a couple days. Usually I check my goodreads everyday.

I live in Arizona.

Oh, I live in Northern Arizona and we're supposed to get snow tonight :)

Our first roll is a: 6
That means sixth in a series or a book title beginning with H
:-)

Anyway, Monkey Spankers has my vote.
I'll be back in a bit with a book choice.

Spot on board: 6
Read the 6th book in the Spenser series

Review: ★★★★
Looking for Rachel Wallace is another great installment in the Spenser series by Robert B. Parker. If you're old enough to remember the television show "Spenser for Hire," which was on TV in the 80s, this is the series of books on which the show was based. It is set in the late 70s to early 80s with the vocabulary, clothing styles and so on from that era. Makes me laugh to think how dorky it all was.
I think what I love most about Spenser is his self-deprecating manner, his quick wit, his machismo, and the fact that, of course, he always gets his man.
Highly recommend for a quick and satisfying mystery with a lot of humor thrown in. I'll be continuing the series without a doubt.

I entered the wrong author. I read the one above last month. This is the correct one.

I know what you mean. I have 3 grandsons and 5 step-grandkids, but I'm not chasing them. I leave that to their parents. It's interesting though that when grandma talks, they listen. I wonder how long that will last...

Finished.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I got this book from Netgalley. The story line is good, but there could have been more background done on Liberty and it's magical creatures. The characters are good, but again some more background especially on the Berthold and other magical creatures would have been nice. The ending was kind of abrupt, I know it is obviously the first book in a series that will not be able to be read as a stand-alone and maybe will learn more background in future books. The story goes between the world of Liberty and real world where Grace who is eight years old is and a bit about her family. Her whole family and it seems most everyone in the neighborhood love animals. Grace has a lovely heart and helps with taking care of the animals, even the elderly lady next doors rabbit. I will be looking into the next book to find out what happens next.
