5. Best movie you've ever watch?

message 7: by Arielle Rae (new)

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 55 comments 1. It's going on screen on Feb. 15? This year? Or next? 'Cus then the filming would've been done really fast... I don't know what to think about it. I'm generally apathetic when it concerns this book, but I guess I would watch it online if I remember
2. Mmmm, this is a hard one....
3. I don't know whether this is considered NA or not (I don't think so, but other people do), Gabriel's Inferno
4. I read a lot of romance so that one is basically impossible hahaha
5. Mmmmm, wow this is hard too

Hahaha I'm sorry that I usually not answer questions! I'm an indecisive person

1. Do you consider yourself to be an adventurous reader?
2. What's your favourite type of romance in books? E.g. Love triangle, hate to love, friends to lovers, my siblings best friend, etc.
3. Are you going to watch the Divergent movie coming out soon? Or The Fault in Our Stars? Both?
4. Happy Endings: required in your books or not?
5. Would you travel back, to the time of your ancestors, or forward, to the time of your descendants?

message 8: by Taja (last edited Feb 05, 2014 05:53AM) (new)

Taja (taozi) | 48 comments 1. In some sense yes. I often explore new genres and even pick up books that did't quite pull me in with the synopsis, just to see if I was wrong :) It usually pays off and I find really good books that become my favourites.
2. I generally dislike romance but I do appreciate a slow build of it, where you can really see character development. I prefer friends to lovers. Enemies to lovers is okay too - I like the tension and the passion that often comes along with it.
I do not enjoy love triangles or insta-love.
3. Probably not. I loved TFIOS as a book but I think the movie will not be to my liking. I didn't really find Divergent that great, so the movie does not interest me.
4. Not necessary at all. As much as it hurts me, a tragic ending is sometimes necessary to get the point of the book across. And they make the story bittersweet.
5. I'm insanely curious of what we are yet to learn as humans, so I would definitely go visit my descendants! :)

a) How do you feel about the popular books. Do you usually find them over-hyped?
b) Do you ever read non-fiction? If so, what kind?
c) Have you tried graphic novels or manga? Did you enjoy them?
d) What time period are you most interested to read about?
e) Favourite foreign food?

message 9: by James (new)

James Caterino (jimcaterino) | 37 comments a) I almost always like them; "Twilight", "The Hunger Games", and going back to the 90s Michael Crichton and recently read "Divergent" and loved it!

b)I read a lot of non-fiction of all kinds; science, history, evolution, biographies, essays about pop culture and movies.

c) Oh yeah. Long time reader of graphic novels and comic books of all kind. Lots of "Batman" stuff.

d) Loved John Jake's "North and South". Recently I have been on a pre-history kick. Currently reading "Clan of the Cave Bear".

e)Croatian. Had a friend whose mother was Croatian and loved getting invited to have dinner there!

1. Is there a book you love that when you saw the movie adaption you said "Yes! They got it right!"

2. Same question in reverse, "Omg they ruined it."

3. Biggest "door stopper" of a book you read, i.e most pages and words.

4) What draws you to a new book, i.e. premise, cover, reviews etc.

5) Reading environment: Do you need a quiet room or a park bench? Or are you someone who can read standing in line in Cosco and be completely immersed in a story.

message 10: by grimple (new)

grimple ᵔᴥᵔ | 377 comments Mod
1. I generally avoid movies that were based off of movies, but I've watched the Hunger Games one and Catching Fire was amazing.
2. Yes, unfortunately. I saw the Lightning Thief and Twilight before I decided to stop watching movies based off of books. Twilight was terrible, and Lightning Thief was alright I guess
3. Probably Breaking Dawn
4. Mainly the cover or the amount of reviews it got. 3 years ago I went to Barnes & Noble and saw City of Bones, but I wasn't going to buy it because I didn't like the cover. But I saw all the reviews so I said what the heck. Haha glad I did
5. I wish I could read anywhere, but I need it to be somewhat quiet. Sometimes I can read in loud scenarios, but not a lot.

2. I go on tumblr a lot and I frequent news sites like CNN. I'm also on youtube some of the time.
3. I suppose a lot of books change my view on life, bit by bit. Some more than others, sometimes I don't even notice. The ones that really changed things for me a lot, were 1984 and HP :)
4. Yes, I owned a ridiculously old copy of Agatha Christie's Crooked House. (I loved her books as a child). Anyway, after a while, it fell apart.
5. I do write occasionally, and I do love to write. But I find it very hard and I often give up. I hope to write more in the future :)

a) What is your favourite childhood story\book?
b) Do you prefer that books are long an chunky or do you like books bellow 400 pages?
c) What are some social issues you think should be talked about more, in books?
