German speaking librarian nedded/ How to number series?

Hello,

The last two books are numbered 3.1 and 3.2 and I assumed they are
book 3, part 1 of 2 and
book 3, part 2 of 2
(therefor I proceeded to fixing the title which is now reverted until the situation becomes clearer)

however I realized I might be wrong and there are a lot off Teil/Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 with the same titles on the combine page.

This issue came into light when I was wondering what should I combine the following two editions with :

Any help would be appreciated.

That is right. Ruhelose Seelen is part 1 of book 3 and Pechschwarzer Mond is part 2 of book 3.

Next to that, Amazon has also released both books in 4 parts for the Kindle, at a much lower price:

I don't know what numbering would make the most sense.
book 3, part 1.1, part 1.2, part 1.3, part 1.4
book 3, part 2.1, part 2.2, part 2.3, part 2.4
or
book 3 part 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D
book 3 part 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D

Thanks lethe. I think part 1 of 2 for the first two parts is clear enough.

For the additional splitting I'm wondering what would be most obvious for the readers and other librarians.

I have modified the descriptions a bit. It seems that these were published before the complete volumes, and there was some "be the first to read these! Next week there'll be more" stuff.
