Since the film will be out soon, I'd like to nominate The Giver by Lois Lowry. I read it quite awhile ago, and now it has become a four book series:The Giver
Gathering Blue
Messenger
Son
The Giver sounds like a great option before the movie comes out… I actually read this when my 30 year old son was in junior high and reading it for a class and would love to reread!
I nominate The Stranger
by Albert Camus. His writing is fantastic and I think others would enjoy him as well.
The Giver was one of my favorite school required book that we had to read. I found out about a year ago that there is actually 4 books. They are waiting patiently on my TBR shelf.
So many great books! And so many on my to-be read shelf too! I think I'll second the nomination of Things Fall Apart.
Since I want at least one book on the ballot I haven't already read, I'll nominate Kate Chopin's The Awakening
So Laura, can we do what we did with I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman and set up The Giver in "Side Dishes"? Hope so :-)

I hear that too Laura! I will be excited to re-read it if it wins. It is one of my favorites. I also downloaded the other 3 books:)
hey Alicia! I feel your pain. but
you voted for To The Light House which was ahead for most of the poll. the classic selection I voted for happened to win this month, but usually both the selections I rally for end up not winning! And remember you can always set up a side read or a buddy read.
