I'm in! Completed so far:
1. Read a book that does NOT contain a love triangle - Vengeance in Death
2. Read a book with a strong, independent character - A Study in Scarlet
3. Read a favorite of one of the mods - Wolf-Speaker by Tamora Pierce (Nicki - Tortall)
5. Read a group book for February - Gardens of the Moon
6. Read a book in your favorite genre - Fire & Flood by Victoria Scott (Fantasy)
7. Read a book set in a dystopian society - Unwind by Neal Shusterman
8. Read a book by an author outside their established niche or genre - Vicious (she is usually YA; this is adult)
9. Read a book with a red or pink cover - Crewel by Gennifer Albin
10. Read a book with heart in the title - The Spinning Heart
11. Read a book with an unconventional love story - Ask The Passengers by A.S. King
15. Read a book with no romantic elements - The False Prince
Questions:- Will we get a list from which to choose for number 3?
- Is "book book" a typo in number 6?
Jeez Nyssa, I guess you expect me to have read these over before I posted them or something! :P (*cough* Yeah, that was a typo. LOL)
Regarding the favorites, Umm, yeah, sure. I'll put together a list, but also any book that's on a Favorite type shelf would work.
Or wait until one of us posts a #4 book and read that.

Well you could have meant "non-series book" and not thought of the word "standalone". *smile*
Since some of us made life difficult for Becky by deleting all our books, yeah, there'll be a list. ;)
LOL That's giving me a lot of credit. What really happened was I just used the template from the last one and didn't proofread. ;)

'nother question - For those of you who have read it, would Wuthering Heights fit #11? I asked a friend of mine who loves the book, and she feels that would be the best option of those listed. Unless, of course, it happens to be a favorite of one of the mods. My copy does not fit any of the color or cover requirements.

Question regarding #9 Read a book that has a red or pink cover. How much of the cover should be red or pink? And does it have to be the background? 
- could this cover count?(If not I have another that I *could* use instead)
Some red or some pink is fine. That cover would work just fine.

Ok, I'm stressing over what you mean by unconventional relationship. I don't want to offend anyone by inadvertently selecting a book that describes the type of relationship someone else is in and be hurtful.Help!

That's not at all where I was going with this task.
I'm down with any pairing between consenting sentient beings, and think if it makes 'em happy, it's fine by me. Just to put it out there. So for the task, I'm going to leave it wide open. If you feel it's "unconventional" in some way, go for it.
Examples:
- 1 Capulet + 1 Montague (because, come on, they didn't play by the "rules", right? :P)
- LGTBQ relationship
- Interspecies, like (Chris, close your eyes) in China Mieville's Perdido Street Station, there's a human+insect relationship
- Older man or woman with younger partner
- Human + vampire/were/shifter/zombie/etc
- Different faiths or lifestyles
It can really be anything.
Ok! I knew I was probably over-thinking it, but wanted to be sure.

And I think it makes my book fit even moreso (LGBT relationships in small-town, conservative America...).
I feel like I should have looked at Chris' list of favorites before I listed mine......I think you have a few of my faves there as well, sir.
