author created a new edition, but the placeholder cover is obviously a placeholder (and wasn't distributed) so I think it can be merged
Could a super-librarian please delete this book? The author and title are the same, and there's no other information. I checked with the person who added the book, and she requested that it simply be deleted.

Although the book has 0 reviews and has been shelved only once, the following error message appeared when I tried to delete it:
"Only super-librarians can delete books with so many reviews."

re 670, since someone had shelved it, i went ahead and merged it with the author's most popular book. probably overkill, since the one user who shelved it hasn't been active in the last 6 months, but whatever. it's gone now!

That actually makes it less likely to actually delete. Deletions are asynchronous now; they don't go through immediately. This has been true for over a month.
When the queue that deals with deletions (and not just books, but quotes, posts, user accounts, etc.) is overloaded, a given delete can be pending for a while. I leave a tab open and check on it occasionally.
Two pending deletions for the same book confuse the system and make it likely neither will be completed. Although in this case it does appear to have gone through eventually.

Thanks for explaining, rivka. I didn't know, usually when I delete things (not very often) they go through at once, or so I thought. I'll do the checking-in-another-tab thing in the future!

#700: those all have different ASINs, so that makes them all different, valid editions. Two of those still actually exist on Amazon sites, this one on Amazon UK and this one on Amazon US. (only one isbn published; colour of cover not exactly equal, but seen many times before that some websites have much brighter colours than others for the same cover; user who added the book has added a lot of duplicates, not likely it was meant to be an ACE)
