Question 2 - Favourite Places/Times to Read
I read in bed at night and in my saucer chair in my room. They are both cosy and its quiet in my room too.
I only read in bed at night except in the summer when I also read while I sit outside enjoy the sunshine. And yes.... We do get sunshine in Ireland!
In the morning at my kitchen table while I am drinking my first cup of coffee of the day before anybody in my house gets out of bed. In bed at night. Sitting by the pool or at the beach. Narrowing it down to one favorite would be impossible for me.
I love to read under the mango tree in our garden but get distracted after some time with all the activity. that's when i move to my room and curl up in the chair.
In bed, with my blanket if it's cold... perfection :)Since I started university I got used to read on the train: I have one hour journey and it's a shame not using that time to read... but, in this case, I must put some soft music on to not get distracted by others passengers' conversations. I can't read outside: too many noises or there's the wind messing with pages.
I love to take a book with me wherever I go, just in case the opportunity presents itself for me to get tucked in for a few pages! My favourite time though is Saturday mornings right when I wake up. I sneak downstairs quietly so as to not wake my hubby and then I curl up on the couch with my reading blanket and a cup of hot chocolate (water, in the summer) for as long as I can get away with it.
I read on the train to/from work and before going to bed, for the most part. Now that I'm challenging myself to read more, I read in my bed when I have some free time. I also have a big chair, but it's not as comfortable.
I mostly like to read on my bed at night for an hour or two before going to sleep. I also love my corner of our couch on weekend mornings when my husband is still sleeping.
I have 6 kids, plus a full time job, a side business that I want to be the full time one. Anytime I get the chance, wherever that happens to be. I am not a morning person, but I like to read while I get my 6 y/o ready for the school bus then a bit after she gets on, then sleep til my day starts when the baby wakes up. Then late at night in bed when everyone is asleep.
I like going to certain coffee shops in the morning and bringing the book I'm working on. A change in scenery is great sometimes. I also have a chair in my parents house that is perfect for reading when the rest of the house is asleep while I eat ice cream.
I like to read in bed or in a BIG chair with a blanket at night. Or in a swing/hammock when it's warm out.
Mostly I read in my bed at night. I feel like the whole world is listening to my whispers and watching the movie I make in my mind :) it's very romantic!
My favorite place to read in on the patio, especially if it is a little cool outside. A pipe, a cup of tea, and a good book makes the world go round.
Sofa with a blanket. I have a huge love of blankets. And I surround myself with pillows. My husband calls it the pillow fort. And I usually read on the weekends when my husband is golfing. In total, peaceful silence.
I read everywhere and anywhere. Cannot put books down. I prefer to be curled up in quiet or soft appropriate music playing with lots of cushions.
I enjoy reading by the pool in the afternoon during the warm months, in the morning with my coffee cozier up on my couch, at night before bed to wind down I enjoy a hot bath and a book, or snuggling in my covers in bed reading until I can't keep my eyes open any longer.
I get one hour for my lunch break at work, and I usually take a packed lunch or something easy to prepare so I can maximize my reading time in the middle of the day. I take a book to bed every night but have been known to pass out after two pages so I try to read earlier in the day.
I read on the metro to and from work each day which gets me about an hour total, and then I enjoy cozying up in my bed under my blankets about an hour before I go to sleep to do some reading.
In the morning before anyone else gets up while I'm eating breakfast. At work on my lunch break. In bed at night.
I have an hour's commute to and from work, so I do most of my reading on the train! I sometimes get a few pages in during my lunch break if there's time, too.I'd love to read more at home, but it's quite a solitary activity and I get such little time at home family takes priority :)
I like reading in bed, under the covers, or curled up on the couch. I also like reading outside, when the weather is nice - I like being lost in a book while hearing the rest of the world around me, as background noise.

I've been in libraries a couple of times before, and it was amazing. Unfortunately, we don't have a local library over here - the nearest one is about 80 km away in a different city, and it was opened only a few weeks ago, so I haven't had the opportunity of visiting it yet. :)
My favorite place to read is in the living room with a quilt and a dog on my lap. With a warm cup of tea beside me and the sun coming through the window, I am in heaven.
On warm days, I enjoy reading at a nearby state park. I will usually try to find an isolated spot and perch in a tire swing or hammock. If that option isn't possible, I will usually read in the den or in bed deep into the night hours when the house is quiet.
I like to read on the couch with a blanket, some hot chocolate and a warm cozy fire. But when I get sucked in to a really good book, I could read pretty much anywhere.
I've always loved reading while walking - to school when young (also carrying a school bag and kicking a ball against the long cemetery wall), to work afterwards, and now when walking the dogs by the river. People used to stare as if I was strange, but now almost everybody else is either listening to an iPod or texting by smartphone while walking. Easier now with light Kindles than it was.
High chance of a collision these days!
My dad lived with us for the last ten years of his life. When he passed away last year (at age 98), his room became "my" room, my girl-cave, and now my favorite reading spot is in his recliner. I'm there right now!

Aww, that's so nice, Linda!

I very much enjoy reading outside, weather permissible. I have a chair in my bak yard that is inviting, and a bench in a courtyard within a university building also is most inviting. Indoors, I have a large gray chair next to a window in our living room.
Anywhere & everywhere! There is always a book in my bag & I will happily grab 5 minutes whenever I can to read a few pages. I love taking myself off to a cafe for a hour where I can curl up on a sofa near a window to read and people watch (my second favourite pastime).
But at home, my favourite place to read has to be the garden on a quiet summers evening with a lovely glass of wine!
I carry a book everywhere too. You never know when you will have a few minutes to read. I actually don't mind waiting in doctors offices because I am too busy reading to realize how long I am there.
I read in bed. Like always.
Although I have vowed that when I get my first thing I'm going to but will be a comfy armchair to read in!
I'd also love to read more in coffee shops. Hopefully that will become easier when I go to University.

I love reading in bed at night. Actually anytime during the day, I usually love reading lying down. And I also love reading while travelling....:)
Reading in bed at night, early in the morning with a cup of tea, in the afternoon with the sun streaming in my bedroom, usually with a couple of the four cats and a 110 Newfoundland for company. But, always, my favorite place is curled up in bed. I do bring my book where ever I go, so appointments do not seem so long. The Nook is wonderful, so when I wake up at 3:00 a.m. I can read without disturbing my husband.

I read anywhere and everywhere. In bed, at night, during the day while sprawled on the carpet in the living room, while taking a bath (that's one of the drawbacks of The Kindle; drop a book in the bath and you can dry it out fairly easily). I can and do read on the bus. It makes the journey go faster. And I like to nosy at what others are reading.
I've heard people say they put their kindle in a ziploc bag for bathtub or beach reading. I mostly read on the couch these days, but the one thing I miss about bus rides is all that extra reading time.

We read anywhere, any table, any chair.
Top of piano, window-ledge, in the middle, on the edge.
Open draw, empty shoe, anybody's lap will do.
Fitted in a cardboard box, in the cupboard with your frocks.
Anywhere! We don't care! We'll read anywhere.
(Forgive me, Eleanor Farjeon)

I read at night in bed I enjoy reading in a quiet environment which is hard to find in our home until late at night.
I prefer to read at home, either laying in bed or on the couch. When I'm immersed in a book, I am likely to spend all weekend in bed reading.
I love reading whenever I can find myself in the house by myself - so it's not so much a time as it is a situation. If it's quiet, if I'm alone, if I have a book ... I'm reading. As far as place ... my leather recliner is my favorite, followed by my bed with all the bed pillows behind me, or stretched out on the sofa. A cup of coffee on the end table or nightstand is a minor luxury.
I read on the train which has been a little funny lately.I'm reading Hyperbole which makes me laugh out loud, drawing some strange looks from fellow passengers. I'm getting ready to read You Are Not Special which I'm sure will generate some random comments and conversation.

My favourite place to read, at least during the warmer months, is on our front porch at just the right time of day to be sitting in the shade. I also love to read while curled up on the couch or in bed at any time of the day or night, especially in the winter when I can get cozy in a blanket. :)
