I own Uglies, but I don't think it's the greatest book ever. It's interesting, but not amazing to me.

You know what's funny. I am really enjoying it. I don't know anything about religion but I am flying through this. It is very interesting and intriguing.

my next book is by Brian Keene Dark Hollow
My next book will be whatever Santa(my family) gives me for Xmas ! "Impatiently waiting for Xmas to come"
going to read Burn by Linda Howard and then Body of Liesand anyother books I get for xmas. then work my way through my to read pile.
Next book on my list are Elizabeth Gaskell's Mary Barton A Tale of Manchester Life and David Hewson's The Cemetery of Secrets. I hope to get through a bit of my TBR list here before I go back to res in January *nods*
Natalie wrote: "My next book will be whatever Santa(my family) gives me for Xmas ! "Impatiently waiting for Xmas to come""Waiting until Christmas to read again? Eek, get thee down to a library girlfriend!! I couldn't go for six days without reading. I hope that Santa is very generous and perhaps lets you open a book (oops, I mean a PRESENT) on Christmas Eve. You have been really good, haven't you?

Next up for me will be Truly, Madly by Heather Webber!! I won this book and I am so excited to read it!
Just starting the Puppet Master by Joanne Owen then next up I think will be From Dead To Worse by Charlaine Harris (Sookie Stackhouse #8)
Next for me and my children is The Wolves' Gambit It comes out in March and we can't wait! The first two The Orca's Song and The Tiger's Secret were brilliant. They're internet-linked children's books, in which the reader can join the hero or heroine on their quest.
I'm planning on reading The Anarchist by John Smolens who I met at a book reading and is also a professor at my University! I'm pretty excited to get started.I've also wanted to read Water for Elephants. Is it worth reading?
KarenLee wrote: "I just finished Shutter Island and am about to begin City of Thieves."KarenLee - I really liked City of thieves - you'll have to let me know what you think.
I think I sort of deserve a small break from reading. I do love to read but when it becomes a chore... I have a friend coming over and I'm not sure how long she'll stay so I'm not going to start anything. Maybe leaf through a few reference books but nothing heavy. But mainly I'm not reading because next up is The Chronicles Of Narnia which I borrowed from a friend and promised to read over Christmas break so she could have it back when we get back to school. In case I get caught up in it, it would be really annoying to have to stop reading :) Most likely I'll be unable to start reading it before the year is over.
What a nice friend you are. You are right sometimes I need a small break or just a really fast book to read. Have fun with your friend.
After I finish The Help, I will start Dewey The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron and BoneMan's Daughters by Ted Dekker.

I'm starting an alphabet challenge on January 1st and my "A" author is Austen with Mansfield Park ! Excited to read her satirical take on the Gothic novel .
Starting either Temptation of the Night Jasmine or Naughty Neighbor next. Depends on the amount of time available tomorrow.
my next book is Stephen King carrie and james patterson alone came a spider
My next books list is for January (going to finish 2009 out with some M.C. Beaton Hamish Macbeth mysteries) and consists of the following books:The Help
The Swan Thieves
The Blue Handbag
If I Stay
Also, there are a couple that aren't in the system yet for "add book/author." The Thirteenth Hour (out yesterday) by Richard Doetsch and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson (I couldn't wait until next summer, so I ordered it from the UK).
To get a head start on the 2010 reading challenges I signed up for, next on my list are The Shadow of the Wind, Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict, 44 Scotland Street. Also will still be working on American Gods.
my next book is stephen king carrie and james patterson alone came a spider
I always hesitate to list which book I plan on reading next because it can change...daily or hourly even!! Does anyone else do this?
Tammie wrote: "my next book is stephen king carrie and james patterson alone came a spider"Have you read any Jonathan Kellerman's books. You might like his as a change up.
Cindy, I usually can't plan a next book either for the same reason as you. In fact, I always read several books at once because what I'm in the mood for changes so frequently.
Cindy wrote: "I always hesitate to list which book I plan on reading next because it can change...daily or hourly even!! Does anyone else do this?"I always have an idea what I'd like to read next, but that tends to change when I actually pick the book up and take a look at it. Often I put it down and go to something else.
I know Beth, me too! But if I start reading more than one at a time, I inevitably get more interested in one than the other and wind up setting one aside! I'm excited because I got a new CD player/stereo for my car so I can listen to books on CD's. I was probably one of the last people to still only have a cassette player in the car and it was hard to find cassettes to listen to!
Cindy wrote: "I always hesitate to list which book I plan on reading next because it can change...daily or hourly even!! Does anyone else do this?"LOL! Cindy, even though I make out a list for the next 1 to 3 months, it always changes some (okay, sometimes it changes a lot). The list I posted here is still what I want to read starting this month, but I've gotten stuck on the Hamish Macbeth mysteries by M.C. Beaton, so everything is on hold.
I'm going back to res for the start of a new semester tomorrow so it's a toss-up between the following books: Douglas Adams's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 1-3, Wilkie Collins's The Woman in White and Daniel Silva's The Mark of the Assassin. We'll see xD
I'm currebtly working on The Girl Who Played with Fire after I am done, I will finish the Percy Jackson series,.The Last Olympian. I haven't thought too far beyond that as I change my mind so frequently.
