Once Upon A Time and Lara

Sam rolled her eyes. Will you two kiss already She thought.

"Can't you guys kiss already?" He hated seeing people do this.

Sam giggled and looked away, blushing slightly. Kissing always made her feel awkward.

"What is it that your hiding now?" Danny really should shut his mouth, but he didn't trust her.

Sam looked up, Danny was accusing again? And what else had Calla not told them?

Danny was listening to this story with ease. Trying to pinpoint the lies and the truth.

James just stood there--tense--waiting to hear what she would say.

Danny wanted to say something. But he thought he caused enough trouble already.

James raised a brow, "What happened to your dad?" He asked, guessing where this was going.

Danny's jaw flew open."So you mean James has to give up everything to become a witch." He said the last words in disgust.

Sam bit her lip. Calla probably should have told him sooner, she was asking a lot of him. She felt bad for her though. This girl was so prone to being over-emotional.

James shook his head, trying to get rid of the anger. He had already lost everything, so why not his dignity as well? He wouldn't be able to see his friends again, his home was gone, he was on a path to unknown mountains, why not just add becoming a witch into the mix. He kicked a rock and sent it flying into a tree. Sure Calla was nice, but he was not ready to make the decision to stay with her for the rest of his life.

Danny felt angry at her. He went back in line with James."There will always be more girls. Beside we have three choices we can leave, we can kill them, or we could go with them."

James looked around, "I'm going with them. If I do become a witch, it isn't the end of the world. Besides, having Calla with me would make this depressing world a little bit brighter." He looked up in time to see what looked like a snake moving across the ground.
Then he spotted another one. Frowning, he realized that they looked a lot like tree vines, moving slowly across the path. He was about to say something when vines snaked around Danny and Sam's ankles, pulling them down and into the brush.
Before he could blink, they had disappeared.

"Where are we?" He turned and ask Sam. It happened so quickly.

James nodded, "I know, but where do you think they went?" He asked nervously, "Were those.... vines?"

"Princess over here is leading us to safety." He wanted free. He wasn't going to tell them anything.

"No!" Sam said. "We're not." She insisted.
"So the boy was lying?" The tree asked.
"Ok." James agreed. "We should circle outwards. Look for drag marks."

Wow these trees can't take a joke. "No it is a nickname people give to other people." Right smooth. That went so much better in his head.

Sam gasped and clawed at the vine around her throat, "No. No, he's telling the truth!"
The vines tightened on her neck and she screamed.
"It's ok." James said. He was telling the truth. What she was isn't her fault. A piercing scream broke the silence. James stiffened, "Did you hear that?"

"I'm not lying. Neither is she." He couldn't let them kill Sam. Who would he argue with?

The tree paused, confused, "I sense something between you." It said, amused. "You little talking mice are attracted to each other!"
"What?" Sam protested, "Are you crazy?" The vine tightened again and she choked a bit, "I mean, of course!" She corrected, laughing nervously, "Of course you're right."
The tree nodded, satisfied, "Regardless, trespassers may not be allowed to live. I'm sorry."
The vines began tightening slowly around their necks. Sam squirmed and clawed, trying to free herself before her air supply gets cut off completely.

"Yeah we are so madly in love." He gave Sam I will kill you look if after this. Out of the corner of his eye he saw James and Calla. "Finally." He said that bit too loud."I mean finally she confesses her undying love for me." He was trying to get her attention to show that they have help.

James spun and pointed to vines in the tree. About 20 feet up, it looked like there was something caught in them, "Look!" He said to Calla, "I think I found them."

Danny heard the words Calla said."Oh man. We could of been out of here." He gave Sam an evil look.

James backed up a bit, not wanting to miss the fight, but not wanting to get captured either.

"Oh common." She muttered. She had her sword and let it go on full blaze. She used some of her magic to get Danny out. He fell on the ground. "James get Danny." She could see Sam's face turning purple. She jumped up and cut the vine that was holding her. She flew back to the ground."Sam you guys haven't introduce us to your friend."

James ran forwards and pulled out his sword, hacking through any vine or root in his way. He stood with his friends, facing the tree. "You messed with the wrong people." He growled.

"Ah Sam what is happening?" He was referring to Calla. It was like when she was dark, but it was different.

James struggled, jerking around like a worm on a hook, trying to reach up to attack the vine that had his ankle. He was furious that he was loosing a battle to a tree.

Danny went up to tell her to calm down and touched her. "Ow. Sam her body is on fire. Why does her body feel like it is on fire?"
The tree didn't look like was going to let James down. She thought of fire and how her body felt like it was on fire. The tree was on fire."I said put him down." He was falling she couldn't catch him. "Someone catch him."

"Uh, Calla?" Sam asked, "What happened to you?" She asked. She wasn't sure if she should be worried, but it didn't look like black magic, thankfully.

"We need to go the forest is on fire." Danny couldn't help but feel something was happening.

James turned around to see the forest burning in the distance. Calla was still on fire, but it was not as intense any more, "Nice move!" He said. "You got rid of that tree pretty quick.

"What is it now?" Danny hated this girl. Each secret she had came after something bad happen.

James just watched quietly, he was sure he couldn't be surprised by anything else after the last secret.

"So your saying your a ticking time bomb." Danny was over reacting by a lot.

James shook his head, "Why are your powers reacting to me? I never said I would be the person who marries you." He said. He was confused. Did he not have a choice?

"We didn't notice." He wanted to kill this witch right now.

Sam could see that Danny was boiling up, "Hey." she said, laying a hand on his arm, "Chill. Her aunt isn't anywhere near by, and even if we do run into her again, it won't be a problem. I'm powerful, and Calla is even more powerful that she was before." She smiled, "Look if we meant you any harm, we would have done it a loooong time ago. I save both your lives a couple of times if I remember correctly..." She said, raising her brow.

"Where are we going to stay?"He dropped the subject really quickly.

Sam looked up at the peaks, "The place is just another day's journey into the mountains." She said, walking forwards, "So I suggest we get moving. And you may want to dress up warmly. It is going to get cold." She said. She closed her eyes and flashed herself a thick cloak over her regular leather jacket. She then made two more of the same cloaks. She handed one to James. He took it and immediately fastened it around his shoulders. She then held the other one out to Danny.

"Could you stop the snow storm?" Danny hated this witch. She ruined his life so much. Most of all his best friend would die and still want to date her.

James looked over at Calla, "Does it have something to do with your emotions?" He asked, trying to help. Then a horrible thought entered his mind. What if he was the problem?

"Fine." He took the cloak. He was being very bitter.

"Woah there." Sam said, "You don't need to take it if you don't want it." She said. "I am just trying to help you. Why are you so angry anyways?"

"I'm not always angry." He said.
Oh she was trying to make him jealous that makes since.
