Once Upon A Time and Lara

"Well once upon a time there was a girl who had two weakness one was guy and the other...." He started tickling her.

Sam shrieked, "Danny!" She giggled, "That was the shortest story I have ever heard!" She kept laughing, "Stop it!" She shrieked, "I can't fight back when you do that."

Sam laughed, swatting his hand away. She tried to crawl across the bed and get away from him.

"Oh no you don't." He rolled over and grabbed her. He stopped tickling her. He just looked at her.

Sam looked up into his eyes. She squirmed a little. Tonight she would do everything he asked her not to. She felt bad, but she knew she could not let that voice just kill her. What if this is the last time I see him?

Sam blinked her eyes fast to keep her eyes from filling with tears. "I love you too Danny." She said softly. She lay back on the bed, and curled up, "Goodnight." She whispered.

"Goodnight Princess." He couldn't really get any sleep. He laid there with eyes open.

Sam could tell that Danny was still awake. She breathed softly and slowly, pretending to be asleep. Hurry up and go to sleep! She thought.

Danny didn't know why he couldn't fall asleep. He had this feeling in him something was wrong. He didn't know what. His eyes felt heavy. He was in this dream about when his sister died. He hadn't has one of these in along time. He felt like he was awake though. He kept screaming over and over. Tears were coming down his face.

Sam was startled when she heard Danny start screaming. She immediately hugged him and whispered, "It's just a nightmare." If this guy is going to be attacking Danny too, then I have to stop him as soon as possible She realized. "I'm sorry." She said softly to Danny. She knocked him out with a sleeping spell, being very careful that it would only last a couple of minutes, and he would not have any nightmares. She got up and flew outside. Where are you!?!? She shouted angrily in her head.
Right here, girlie.
Sam watched as lights lit up an area in the distance. She flew towards it, and into a small opening.
A man in black was there.
Sam faced him, "You're going to pay."
"No you are." He grinned, cocking his head, "You know that your friends can't trace you here, right? You are completely untraceable to them now. My magic is strong. It is impossible to telleport within ten miles of this place. The only way they could find you is if they walked here, and by some great amount of luck, stumbled past all my traps and into here."
Sam gulped. That just meant that she could not afford to fail.

He kept screaming and thrashing. He Sam wasn't there. Where was she?

The man turned to face her, "Show me what you got girlie."
"You bet." Sam said, shooting a fire ball at him.
The shadowy figure dodged it and threw a dark fire-ball at her.
Sam dodged that as well. She ran at him, leaping to attack him with the knife in her hand.
With uncanny speed, the shadow man whipped out and grabbed her wrist, twisting it back.
Sam cried out, dropping the knife.
He pinned her and carried her over to the wall. He lifted her up and hooked two cuffs to her wrists above her head, so she was hanging off the floor. He attached some to her ankles as well. "I'm not going to harm you girl. They would be able to track your blood. I don't just want your life. I wan't all of your friend's lives. They will come, and then I will have you all in my grasp." He hissed at her.
Sam gulped. Please don't come looking for me. She thought. For your own good, don't look.

The shadowy man thought for a moment. "It is taking a lot longer for them to get here than I thought it would, what with all of them having powers, so it looks like they will need a little help." He smiled wickedly and pulled out a dagger. He walked slowly over to Sam.
She eyed the knife warily and struggled to get away as he came closer.
He stabbed her in the stomach with it, and Sam groaned. He twisted it viciously and yanked it out again. Sam's head fell limply against her chest, she was panting. He lifted her chin as blood began to flow from the wound, "That wound wont kill you, but the loss of blood might." He grinned, "Now your friends can track you." He crooned softly.

Sam looked up at the shadowy figure. He had moved to a different part of the room, setting up traps no doubt. She suddenly remembered that she hadn't woken Danny up yet. Even though she had lost a lot of blood, and was very pale, she still had all of her star energy. She used it to wake up Danny. He might as well know what happened. She gulped wondering what he would say, how he would feel about her lying to him and knocking him out.

He kept screaming. Why wasn't anyone helping.

"You don't recognize me lil Calla?" He chuckled. "And after all this time, you are still the same sniveling wretch who left your family to die." He spat at her. He would never forget that.

Sam sighed and relaxed against the stone. She still had her powers, but she did not have enough blood to do much. Only enough to pump her heart. "James, tell Danny I love him, and please don't let him kill himself. I don't want him to die because of me."
James shook his head, "You aren't dying Sam. You will be ok, I promise."
Sam shook her head, her heart was slowing down, "I know. But I am not going to be here for very long. I am going to live with my people." Her eyes fluttered closed.
James looked up at Calla, "Um, Calla? I think we should leave, like now. Sam isn't doing so well."

James tried to give his power to Sam, but she just stopped him. "No, keep it. I still have all my power. Giving me more will not help." She whispered. It was true, she was full to the brim with power. She sighed, "The wounds I have can not be healed with magic."
James shook his head, "There has to be a way to heal you. We need you. I know Danny will not be happy if we bring him your body."
Sam smiled weakly. "I am fighting my hardest to stay alive. If I die, you have to tell him I love him."
James nodded. "I will."
Sam smiled, "Thank you. There is nothing more you can do for me. Go help Calla."
James stood and walked over to Calla, "Can I help?" He whispered. "We should go as soon as possible."

James walked over to Sam and tied the bracelet around her wrist. Immediately the internal bleeding inside her stopped. Sam gasped. She was still very weak from loosing so much blood, too weak to do anything more than talk. She smiled up at James, "Thanks."
"No problem." He walked back over to Calla. "Need help?"

James nodded, he lifted Sam gently from the floor and telleported them both back to Danny.
"Set me down on the chair across from the bed please." Sam whispered.
James nodded, setting her down before he telleported back to Calla.
Sam looked over at Danny, he was still having a nightmare. She was confused by why she wasn't able to wake him up before. Probably because of the shields around the Dreamwalker's hideout. Sam bit her lip. She didn't mean for any of that to happen. And she felt bad for lying to him. She woke him up with all the power she had. She just watched him, not knowing what to say.

He screamed. The nightmare kept reliving.

James arrived beside Calla.
Sam was worried, why wasn't he waking up? She had un-done her knockout spell many times now. Then she remembered something. Sam tried the last idea she had, a wakeup spell. It would take a lot of her energy. She did it any ways, and sighed, even weaker than she was before. It was worth it. Now Danny would be fine.
She could feel her heart slowing down.

"Princess nightmare over and over again." He muttered.

Sam was too weak to do anything. She could barely hear Danny. "I'm sorry." She whispered, finding it harder and harder to take each breath, "I never should have left." She closed her eyes, slowly, slumping into the chair.

He the nightmare stopped he looked up to see Sam in the chair. "Princess are you ok?"

Sam opened her eyes a crack, for that was as wide as she could. "I'm sorry Danny, I really am." She was sorry for lying to him, and for doing what he had made her promise she wouldn't. Her heart was beating slower and slower, and her breaths were shallow.

"Princess, what are you talking about. Are you ok." He promised her he wouldn't overreact and give up.

James felt awkward being talked about, so he looked down and tried to pretend like he was not there.
"I left. That dream guy stabbed me and I lost a lot of blood." She gasped to him, "I was really weak, and then I used up my power trying to wake you up." There now he knew everything. She wouldn't be surprised if he was mad at her for lying to him. She let her eyes close again.

"Princess. Please you have to be ok."

Sam nodded a little without opening her eyes, "I am ok..." She sighed. Why was breathing so hard all of a sudden? Her heart was barely beating now.

"You sure everything is ok?"

James looked away, not wanting to break up their little happy reunion.
Sam couldn't answer, she was too weak now. She slumped into the chair, all of her muscles relaxing.

"Princess." He went over to her. "Princess." He leaned forward and kissed her.

Sam was so weak. She could feel Danny kissing her, but she couldn't move. She couldn't kiss him back. She still had powers, but she had lost so much blood, she couldn't function any more. Her heart was slowing down even more. Soon it would stop all together.

"Princess you can't leave me." He let the light come out. Please make her okay. He thought silently to himself.

Sam tried to tell Danny that she didn't need any more power. But she couldn't move. She wasn't dying because she had run out of power. She was dying because she had lost too much blood, and could no longer function. She could barely breathe. Her breaths only came every couple minutes, the spaces between them growing longer.

He stopped kissing her. "Who is he?" He asked. "She is barley breathing.

James walked over to Sam, "What is wrong with her?" He asked, concerned.
Sam was barely aware of what was going on. She could hear voices, but she didn't know what they were saying, or who they belonged to. if she even opened her eyes a little, the world swam before her, spinning uncontrollably.

"Some? Is she going to die?"
"I don't know. She can't. I can't lose my only friend."

James wanted to say 'yeah, you did.' But he bit his tongue.
Sam didn't feel much better with the bracelet. There was nothing she needed to have healed. The wound was already fixed, she had just bled too much already. She couldn't move, she couldn't do anything. Her heart was steadily slowing down, her breaths growing less and less frequent.

"Wait your say you let this killer come in here. He killed Sam."
"She is not dead yet Danny." She shook her head with disgust. She took the bracelet and charmed to give more blood."This should work."
"Really Calla a killer almost as partnering up with the hunters."
"Danny. Stop please. Im not going to get mad at you. Reason 1. It is late. Reason.2 I have more power than I did this morningReason.3 I'm not going to stoop to your level." She sighed and went back hoping Sam was ok.
Sam looked up at him, childish innocence on her features. She still liked a good story, and she waited for him to begin telling her.
