Once Upon A Time and Lara

Sam moaned softly, shuddering a little, but didn't wake up. She was dehydrated, and the light from her glowing body was starting to flicker.
James looked up suddenly. "Not good. Where they went, they can never come back from again."

Sam swallowed slowly and opened her eyes, her light growing brighter again. "Danny?" Her eyes widened. "Danny no! You shouldn't have come with me!" She shook her head and started to cry. "I just ruined your life now too."

Sam held her face in her hands, sobbing. "Because we're stuck here! There is no way back."

Sam spotted something on the horizon. "Look! There's people! On horses!" She pointed. Maybe they would be rescued from this desert.

"I don't think we should go near the"

Sam's eyes widened. "We don't have much of a choice!" The riders were growing closer, their turbans visible, curved swords drawn. "Run!"

He was so confused. "James Calla how did ed get here?"

Sam immediately groaned and clenched her fists. Steam was coming off her body. She cried out softly. It was weird to see a glowing her, and her body in the same place, but separated.

"Are you ok." He whispered down to Sam.

Sam sat up slowly and nodded, stunned. "You didn't leave? Not after..." She trembled.

"No Princess." He smiled at her.

Sam hugged him, crying against his shoulder. "I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry." she smiled a little. "At least we don't have to do that again."

He nodded.

He felt an energy shift. "I could never be mad at you." He looked around.

Sam sighed, shaking her head. "Of course he wouldn't feel it, he's made of the stuff." She looked up at Danny. "How do we get him to realize?"

Sam frowned. "Like bind my energy to his so he'll feel it? Or just bind his so he can't use it?"

Immediately, James groaned. Light energy did not mix with dark energy after all, and it hurt him. He held his head, flapping his wings in agitation. "Sam! Why did you do that!? You know better than to-" He paused, realizing that there was another strong source of dark magic in the room besides for himself. "Calla?" He asked.
Sam nodded, satisfied, and took the bind off again.

"You see what we were feeling now?"

Sam frowned a little. "Isn't that risky?"

Danny looked at Sam and gave a faint smile.

Sam smiled back. "You know he's risking his life to get her back to normal, right?" She whispered to him.

Sam looked at him sadly. "We don't have much of a choice. He's more powerful than both of us, he does what he wants."

"Yeah but then will have Calla to deal with after that."

Sam ran a hand through her hair. "Yeah. I'm not worried about her as a threat. She's not as strong as James. But I am worried about her as a friend, and how she would react."

Sam sighed. "So do you know of a way to help her without killing one of them?"

"Not right now but there has to be away."

Sam nodded. "I'll let you know if I think of something."

"James are you ok?" Having a feeling that he was done with whatever he was doing.

"What's wrong with her?" Sam asked. James sent them both what had happened through his mind.

"So how did this happen? And how do we stop it?" He asked looking between the two if them.

Sam frowned. "Could I help keep you inside."

"I'm all with that but wouldn't that kill you? And there has to be another way? Also what's wrong with her now?"

"But-"
"Do it Sam." he said, the coldness in his eyes almost threatening. He dove into Calla's heart.
Sam bit her lip and bound him there.
James was held where he was, using his energy to kill the darkness, and pull it into himself. He started to grow weaker. When all the darkness was gone out of Calla, every last drop, he collapsed and closed his eyes.
Sam felt his mind shut off and she let him out again. She had tears brimming in her eyes.
He nodded his head and closed his eyes. He was in the desert. "Sam." He whispered as he grabbed her.
