Unknowingly, he smiled at the tune, and felt significantly more relaxed.

River turned again and saw Tobias smiling which made her smile. "Do you like my song?" she asked.
He did not answer, but truly he did, and it effected him greatly.
She didn't need the answer actually. River kept singing, her voice melting with the forest's noises.
He continued to smile, and stayed calmed by it.
Red made a sudden halt, making River stopped and be wary.
His smile disappeared, and he looked around cautiously.
She quickly climbed up a tree trying to see the danger. She took out her bow and arrow.
River stayed quietly prepared when a bear came to the scene. It was normal for those animals to walk on their owb, but usually they would do it in other afar areas.
Tobias lay still in the undergrowth.
The bear seemed to be searching for food. His behaviour was queer. River could only guess that that animal had a partner. She didn't know what to make of that.
Tobias had made the same deduction, and remained silent and still.
Red detected someone and that someone soon came out of the darkness. A huge man, more animal than human made his appearance. Even if River shoot an arrow, the probabality of injuring him badly was almost none.
Tobias saw the man, and boldly stepped out, with Wolf, waiting for his reaction.
Seeing Tobias and the wolf next to him, the man stood in his place, scanning his opponent. He then charged to him. River just shook her head. "Does he ever refuse a fight?" she muttered.
Wolf and Tobias dived outwards, in separate directions.
River took an arrow and shot it aiming to the man's knee. She smiled when she saw that she had hit in right in the spot.
Tobias moved round and smiled tauntingly.
The man scream in pain, and River climbed down. She took another arrow and pointed to his heart. "Who are you and why are you here?"
Tobias smiled. "I think you'd best speak up."
"It... it wasn't my choice... They gave me only this and I couldn't say no." he said, the pain obvious in his voice.River didn't feel any pity for him, she just waited for him to collaborated.
"The hunters... the royal hunters are looking for the fox girl and the wolf boy. You escaped, and for them, it means breaking the rules. I had been captivated for a long time and they freed me just to catch you both alive.""You know that if you hand us over, you will be back in your cell, don't you?" River asked him.
"Do you have no honour?" Tobias asked, disgusted.
"I do. They said that if I catch you my family would be release. And even if that's a lie, at least I tried everything for them..." he said.
Tobias scowled at him, not in any way understanding why he would make such a grievously treacherous compact with the enemy.
Finally River nodded. Despite the fact that she did understand his reasons, she would never had done that. "You will go back and say that we fought, and you killed us. Red will bring you two hearts, and you'll deliver the hearts to the royals." She ordered.
"You think that's really going to work?"
"Maybe, or maybe not. It'll give us time until someone finds it out."She said and ordered Red to do what she had said befored.
"And could get him killed for a lie."
"That's his fault." she said. "He can do whatever he likes after that. " River looked at the man."I'll do what you say... I don't longer care what happens to me..." he said.
Red came with the hearts and left them in front of the man. "Go now, and do what we tell you." she said.
Tobias spat, making it clear that he disapproved, but did not interfere in any other way.
"Calm down." she said patting his shoulder. "We got some time before they find out the truth. Let's get going." River continued walking.
He moved away from her hand, but followed her nonetheless.
"Do we always have to encounter so many people before we get to our destination?" she complained to Red. The fox didn't answer her so she kept complaining about the annoyance of this trip.
Tobias walked slightly behind her, Wolf at his side, silently.
Some hours later, the sun was already going down, and the forest was alive with the awakening creatures. "Better stay here." she said and found a place where to relax.
Tobias nodded, not feeling like speaking, and sat.
River stared at the trees. "Where are you from?" she asked to Tobias.
"Nowhere is such a nice place." she said trying to keep a serious voice. "I've been there quite a few times myself."
"And what about... your best moment alone with Wolf?" she asked.
Tobias shrugged, he did not think of such things.
"Do you have anything good to tell?" she asked him.
Again he shrugged, and continued walking, on some strange autopilot.
Tired of getting no reaction, she stopped talking to him and started a silent conversation with Red.
