message 152: by Lynda (new)

Lynda I am reading Dark Lover by J R Ward. I just finished The Secret Circle 2 and 3 by L J Smith. The Smith books were excellent. I will definately read more of hers. I am not far enough into Dark Lover to comment yet.

In Cold Blood is up there on my TBR list. You'll have to let us know how it is if you read that next :)

Life of Pi is a pretty interesting book. The ending drove me a little crazy though, lol. When you finish, let us(me) know what you think!

I read those(secret circle) when I was a teen! It was one of my favorite series...:)

Sure! :-) I will be finishing Tenth Circle today. In Cold Blood, it is next!

I've had this on my TBR for quite some time now. Probably should move it up. Once you're done, let us know how it went!

message 158: by Athira (new)

Athira (Reading on a Rainy Day) (readingonarainyday) Nop .. I haven't seen the movie either, but that's what got me interested into the book. I'd better watch the movie before I read the book. I've mostly never liked movies based on books, if I watch the movie after reading the book. (Hope that made sense! :-) )

Haha, I'm just the opposite. If I've seen the movie I have such a hard time getting into the book.

message 160: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 617 comments My problem is more that I hate knowing what happens when reading a book. It just doesn't seem as worth it then. It doesn't bother me as much with movies though.

message 161: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I was reading Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs but when I got home last night I couldn't FIND IT!!! I am really upset because I think someone in my house hid it thinking it'd be funny...hmm. So I grabbed another book to tide me over until I can find it - Bloodlist by PN Elrod. Weird book...set back in the '50's?? I don't know but it's still good. The front cover cracks me up though...with his fangs hanging out over his bottom lip like a saber-toothed tiger...lmao.

I'm reading Blue Bloods-Melissa de la Cruz.
It was a little irritating at first, because the author went on and on about fashion. Although, I understand why she did it. I mean, they are socialites...Once she stopped rattling off all the designer labels the kids were wearing, the book became a lot better! I'm on p289...

Blue Bloods is not my favorite book of the series. In my opinion it gets better with each book. I remember questioning if I wanted to continue the series and I'm glad I did. Still it's not my favorite YA book series but overall I feel it's good.

Marisa (psyko_kittie12) | 398 comments I am reading the first book in the sisters grimm series. It is cute and I am rally anjoying.

message 165: by SoBeA (new)

SoBeA (sobe1982) | 39 comments I went all the way to my local Barnes and Noble (which isn't all that local) to buy Stephanie Laurens new book, and I, in my infinite wisdom, forgot to reserve my copy ahead of time...so of course they were out of stock ... then on my way home I had to pick up a few things from Target and was totally surprised to find a copy there! So as soon as I finish Safe Harbor, I'm on to Mastered By Love :)

message 166: by BK (new)

BK Blue (paradoxically) Still on Brimstone, but almost finished. This book is making my brain tired, lol. There is so much going on, and lots of information flying around. I'm at the climax now, but I had to stop to order pizza. It probably doesn't help that I think I am getting sick and my broken pinky toe still hurts. Ok enough whining.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Stranger by Megan Hart is a book that is hard to put down once you start reading. But I am pacing myself. I love how Megan Hart writes. Not overly spicy but when you picture her descriptions *sigh* such utter perfection comes to mind.

Lisa | 617 comments I bought The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larsson yesterday. It's been my first buy in months, but I've been counting the days until it came out. Probably will push my other books aside and begin this immediately.

If you haven't read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which comes before "The Girl who Played with Fired," I definitely recommend it.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic Lisa Anne: I have The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on my "why so serious" fiction shelf. We have a copy at the bookstore i work at. But with me being in a challenge were I can only buy books if I WIN the challenge...I will have to wait. But it was interesting enough when I glanced at the title to bring it to my desk and look it up on GR. My partner was asking my about GR when I was surfing. I told her all about it.

Lynda I finished Dark Lover and was going to start 2nd Ward book, but Destined for an Early Grave, by Jeaniene Frost came in the mail. I have no defense against self gratification, so it's next.

Athira (Reading on a Rainy Day) (readingonarainyday) By the way, I am not able to click any of the books hyperlinked here. Keeps telling me that the page requested does not exist. Is it just me or is anyone else facing the same problem?

LOL I've been having the same problems. I think it's a glitch in the system...I'm sure they will have it worked out soon. Until then, I guess we're stuck plugging the names/authors into the search bar. :(

Aah great .. Nah, not really great! But I've been thinking it's some problem with my browser or so .. but thankfully it's not. Looks like some problem with their servers for sure ... Goodreads is taking ages to load and I had to post this twice!

Shannon (theholyterror) Got sort of bored with Swallowing Darkness (Meredith Gentry, #7) so I started [image error] tonight. I love this series so much.

message 192: by Kristina (new)

Kristina | 778 comments I'm reading the rose labyrinth. It seems decent so far. I just finished a chapter and now that I'm done with it, it makes sense. While reading it though, I guess it didn't transition very well. The guy was getting on a ferry then he's pulling over to make a phone call and I didn't realize he was even driving again. Guess I'll really have to pay attentionto what I'm reading!

I read Succubus Blues in June and I was instantly hooked on the series. I've been reading them with the Who's Your Author? group even though it kills me to wait each month. I honestly feel like Richelle Mead is one of my new favorite authors of the last 5 years. Her books are definitely instant-buys now.
