Jackie (thenightowl) I started on A Thousand Splendid Suns during lunch time. So far so good!

message 902: by BJ Rose (new)

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 360 comments Finished Savvy and loved it, but I agree with the Newbery committee that The Graveyard Book was just that bit better.

Now listening to The Stupidest Angel A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror, Version 2.0, but I have to say it hasn't grabbed me so far. Reading Creature Cozies, a collection of short stories that star animals - so far it's been cats or dogs or cats and dogs.

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Rose wrote: "I just finished The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. It was really amazing!"

I loved The Summoning! And I think Kelley Armstrong is moving up my fav authors list! Lol.

message 904: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Today I finished Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. I absolutely adore Clayton! Or Clay depending on which name you perfer.
Yesterday I also started The Angel Experiment by James Pattenson. Also from the library I got The Timetravellers Wife.

And I also plan on finishing Posion Study sometime soon. It's alright, just hasn't grabbed my attention.

message 905: by Storm (new)

Storm (stormgerlock) The Summoning was the first thing I had read by Kelly Armstrong and I can't wait to read the rest of her work.

message 906: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Me too. I have heard about the Women of the Otherworld series a fair bit. And then I got it and ta-da! Lol.

message 920: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Finished Poison Study and I have just gotten Magic Study.

message 921: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 1184 comments The Confusion - Neal Stephenson

I love Stephenson, which is a good thing, since the entire Baroque Cycle runs over 2,400 pages.

message 922: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) So there have been a change in plans. I went to Target for clothes, came out with some and a brand new book. Fallen by Lauren Kate. And then after that I went to the library *cringe* and I was tempted to get four of the books I wanted. Instead I settled for two:
Strangle Angels and I'd tell you I love you, but then I'd have to kill you.
Also, I just happened to get the Night Huntress series today. :D Not to mention I have about twenty books that I still have to read. Lol.
Hey, you can never have too many books!

message 923: by LaTrica (new)

LaTrica Finished Young Miles and was going to move on to The Born Queen but really wanted more Scifi. So I'm reading The Planet Pirates Omnibus.

message 928: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I finished Blood Promise day before yesterday. I really liked it.
And FYI - I surpassed my 100 book for the year goal!

I'm now reading Red-Headed Stepchild. Really enjoying it so far.

message 929: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ I just started Sugar Daddy which I need to read for a challenge - may/december romance. Not my thing but we'll see how it goes.

message 930: by Jackie M (new)

Adrienne | 286 comments I'll be interested to read your thoughts on this one, I have it on my TBR but I've read varying reviews (and there in lies my mistake I think)so I'm a little cautious.

I hope you'll post a review on this one. The reviews I've read seem to be all over the spectrum.

message 934: by SoBeA (new)

SoBeA (sobe1982) | 39 comments I'm reading Kill for Me by Karen Rose... I've read all her other books, so I really wish she'd write faster!

message 935: by Storm (new)

Storm (stormgerlock) I'm stuck reading Eldest by Christopher Paolini. I don't know why it's taking me so long, I'm interested... Just not addicted.

message 936: by new_user (last edited Dec 25, 2009 04:41PM) (new)

new_user UM, you should read her other series! LOL. Get on that!

message 937: by Barbara ★ (new)

Ha Ha. I haven't heard of this book. Sounds very interesting. Good find!

message 939: by [deleted user] (new)

I just finished reading Born of Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It is the first book that I picked up by Kenyon and it wont be the last. Whoa! This book was great. I wasn't really expecting anything but I was blown away. Sex, assassins, gore, interplanetary relationships, and did I say sex. Thumbs up! 5 stars!

message 940: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 1184 comments Surprised myself by finishing The Confusion ... heading right on in to The System of the World - Neal Stephenson, which is the final book of the Baroque Cycle.

message 941: by LaTrica (new)

LaTrica Finished Young Miles and I think I love him. I'm not particularly tall myself.

Currently reading The Planet Pirates Omnibus. I'm not familiar with this series but it seems the omnibus presents the books in chronological order, not published. Plus the back page summary doesn't seem to have anything to do with the book.

I have been barely reading lately. I miss being able to post my "currently reading" book, but I am still reading my Witch Fire book, and a few psychology books for school. However, I am almost done with Witch Fire, which means I get to start on Witch Storm! I might start reading a historical romance with Witch Storm, but I'm not sure which one...

Anyone want to take a look at my "Own to Read" folder and give me some suggestions on which books I should read next?

message 943: by Storm (new)

Storm (stormgerlock) I've been reading Eldest for the longest time. It's taking forver and I'm about to give up completly. Or just stop reading for awhile. In January I'm doing a bunch of challenges so I will prolly give it up to read other stuff for challenges.

I remember when I first got the book, I was really excited. But once I started reading, I stopped and put it down halfway through after about a month of trying to read it. Picked it up before the third one came out, and read the second half.

message 945: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Currently reading Fallen.

I know... When I first got it I read half of it and put it away for a year and now I'm just trying to finish it. I don't understand, it's not terrible.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Today I'm starting The Clayborne Brides One Pink Rose, One White Rose, One Red Rose.

If you're looking for an amazing, charming, heartwarming, funny, wonderful, amazing... did I say amazing already? Anyway, check out Julie Garwood's For the Roses, book 1 in the Clayborne Brides series. I finished it last night and it has easily become my favorite romance of all time.
