I loved the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series. It's fun and Alexander McCall Smith has morals. The reading is very light and gives you a sense of place.

Now I am reading Run For Your Life - James Patterson & Michael Ledwidge.

Sue do you like Water for Elephants? I tried reading it and just couldn't get into it. Thought about trying to read it again when I saw your post.

Kasi it was hard to get into at first, but I kept going and I'm glad I did. I had the same issue The Book Thief, had trouble with that one at first too but overall it was a good book.

Oh I had to read that for college. I had so much stuff going on at the time though that I really only remember reading sections of it. That definitely needs to go in my to re-read pile! The parts I did read I remember being enjoyable.

"I actually stopped reading it! It wasn't terribly bad or anything, it just didn't seem to be able to keep my attention for longer then a few minutes... :) does that help you at all?"
It does help, yes. After my less-than-impressed reading of Untouchable, I'll take a pass on the rest of this series. I loved the Fyne Witches trilogy, so hopefully you will, too. The follow-up trilogy on their kids, The Prince trilogy, was not as good as the Witches, but still OK.

Maybe I'll try it again then...We'll see...

Now to wind down, I'm reading Life, the Universe and Everything - even if I lose track of what's happening, I'll fit right in with the characters!

Starting on Living Dead in Dallas

Is it good?
"
so far I love it, I have to say though I keep waiting for the brothers to show up

I Loved, Loved, Loved that book! You should definitely read the sequel,
The Girl Who Played with Fire ; It really delves into Lisbeth Salander's character!

I want to read it, but our entire library system has only one copy of TGWPWF, so I'm working my way up the 'hold' list very slowly!

Still reading The Golden Notebook, but also started Sin and Syntax How to Craft Wickedly Effective Prose by Constance Hale. So far it's been informative and entertaining, a mix betweent Eats, Shoots & Leaves The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation and The Elements of Style, Fourth Edition. It has made me extrememly conscious of each word I type though and I now am spending forever on each email I send out.

Started the Alchemaster's Apprentice by Walter Moers, I love his writing style. It flows so naturally, and it's not everyday you find an fairy-tale like adult novel that can pull you in.

Now starting Lover Enshrined

Is 'Lucky' good so far? I read The Lovely Bones in high school and thought it was good, but at the time I didn't read much non-fiction so I never got around to 'Lucky.'

I think I must be the only person that didn't care for Lovely Bones. I thought the whole book was kind of weird. Oh well...guess that's why we get to read what we like right? hehe.

Darkly Dreaming Dexter - Jeff Lindsay
Furies - Elizabeth Kay
Partners in Crime - Nigel Hinton
Liar - Pete Johnson
Until Proven Guilty - Nigel Hinton

How did you like 'Dexter?' I've been dying to read the series, but haven't gotten to the library lately.

Jackie, how do you like this book? I was curious about it...let me know what you think! (I thought I would take up a ghostly story for a Halloween read)
Thanks,
Karen

I liked it. It wasn't very scary which is a good thing for me and it was a quick read.
