What Are You Currently Reading?
As of the 1 February 2020, I'm reading The Secret Commonwealth by Philip Pullman, The Children of Green Knowe and The Charmed Children of Rookskill Castle.
Yesterday I finished The Chinese Proverb, which I loved. Definitely one of my top reads this year. I've just started The Institute.
The Queen of Nothing
The third in The Folk of the Air series. Loved the first 2. Had to wait a while for my library to get this one. Good so far
About to begin
The Warning by Paul Pen after finishing the very satisfying 5th book in the DCI Matilda Darke series,
The Murder House by Michael Wood. My spoiler free review can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and my webpage https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...
Christine wrote: "Sandy how are both of your books going?"Finished one and haven't yet started reading the other Christine. I hope your reads are going well.
Just finished listening to
Fry's English Delight: Series 1....absolutely delightful. ❤😍😂🤣 my review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm just started reading Little Lord Fauntleroy by Frances Hodgson Burnett and Seven Ghosts by Chris Priestley.
I've now read 10 books - 4 by NZ authors, and 6 by overseas authors. 4 by female authors and 6 by male authors. I'm doing okay on trying to ensure an even balance between my reads. To bolster the Kiwi author figures, I'm about to start reading Call Me Evie by New Zealand author JP Pomare.
Starting
Perfect Kill by Helen Sarah Fields after finishing the very strange
The Warning by Paul Pen. My spoiler free review can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and my webpage
Just started reading The Maeve Binchy Writers' Club. I've had it on my bookcase since I picked it up at a school book fair last year. And don't judge me, I'd reading it with a highlighter and a pen in hand! Although the book provides space for the reader to add their own notes, so I think I'm okay defacing my copy x
About to begin
The Crossing by Matt Brolly after finishing
Sisters by Choice bSusan Mallery. while it wasn't my favourite book by this author it was still a good solid 4 star read. My spoiler free review can be found at https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/... and https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just started reading
. My mother-in-law gave it to me. I purposely haven't read any reviews, but randomly saw it recommended today on a list of the best books about books! So that bodes well.
Just finished
A Winter In Ravensdale by Kate Fielding, a pleasant but not particularly memorable read. No idea what I am going to pick out of my pile of back reads next. My spoiler free review can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and on my website sandysbookaday.wordpress.com

I'm trying to balance my Goodreads Reading Challenge this year - a 50/50 spilt between male and female writers, and 50/50 between Kiwi/Non-Kiwi authors. Let's see how I go! This is my 3rd Kiwi book this year, and my 3rd female author.
