Amy Burk (amykaufmanburk) I self-published my first novel, Hollywood High: Achieve The Honorable, and I'd appreciate your consideration.

Hollywood High: Achieve The Honorable is a fictionalized account of my first year of high school, when I transferred from an all-girls prep academy to the local public school. At Hollywood High, I found gangs, over forty native languages, teen prostitution, and terrible violence targeting the gay boys. I wrote the novel in support of the LGBTQ community (I'm a strong ally), and as a voice against bullying.

Genres: Literary Fiction, Gay and Lesbian, Coming of Age, Young Adult

I look forward to connecting to other readers and self-published writers. Thank you so much for considering my novel!

J.U. Scribe (juscribe) | 77 comments It's nice to find those interested in self-published books despite the stigma they are given. I happen to be an indie author myself, and I have a new book out that is geared towards middle grade readers entitled Before the Legend. The work is historical fiction but can also fall along the lines of literary fiction as it explores the ancient world through the eyes of a young boy as it chronicles life-altering events that surfaces in the next 3 days of his life.

Of course I'm looking for new readers and hearing what others have to say about it.

S. Martin (thescalex) My YA sci-fi novel EMBASSY is spending its 2nd day at #6 on the free Amazon Bestseller List for YA/children's science-fiction and has an overall 4.3 out of 5 stars rating. It is currently FREE. Maybe you'd be interested? Link is below. Here's the description:

Embassy (Recovery) by S. Alex Martin

""THIS IS A JOURNEY.

Arman Lance wants nothing more than to join the Embassy Program and fly across the galaxy. He wants to find Ladia Purnell, a girl who visited his planet years earlier. They had fallen in love, but their time together was short. Arman has become determined to find her again -- to the point of obsession. He believes his happiness, and future, depends on it.

Arman expected people in the Embassy to think he'd follow his father's footsteps. He also expected to slip into a simple routine, a path that would take him straight to Ladia. But he never expected anyone to stop him, especially not the adrenaline-chasing, ever-smiling Glacia Haverns, who decides it's her job to show Arman there's more to life than chasing desperate dreams.""

I actually did that, about five times throughout these two pages. Then I figured, nobody's reading anyway, why bother--and deleted them.

For the sake of fairness, I'll try this one more time...
