I am having trouble with the first book, it just isn't grabbing me. I left off at the part where they just get to the arena. If you say it gets better, I will go right to it and try again. maybe if I had seen the movie, I might get into it better. Hunger Games is definitely worth finishing, but I have to agree with Lisa Anne that Catching Fire didn't live up to what I expected ... BUT Lisa Anne keep reading Mockingjay! IMHO it comes in second to the first in the series, but wraps up the story nicely ... ;o)

I can read any book by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Veronica Blade, Quinn Loftis, Maggie Stiefvater, Cate Tiernan, or Richelle Mead. Just a few of many, actually.

Some authors I really like, but haven't read any of their other books. I wouldn't know if I can read just any book written by them. For example, I love The Mortal Instruments, The Hunger Games, The Morganville Vampires, etc. But I'm not sure how I would like those author's other books. I will give them a try one day, though!

I like John Green but I think he's a little over-rated. I don't think The Fault in Our Stars is like, ''the best book ever.''

I really enjoyed this book. I have a strong interest in spirituality and Native American mythology. Quest for Eden resonated with both. I could see this book being very attractive to the rapidly growing young adult market. Its combination of optimism and a focus on working together to achieve an objective are important lessons.

The author writes in the clear and straightforward prose which clearly reflects at least in part direct personal experience. That's one of the reasons that the book is so enjoyable. Too many authors write about things they don't really understand and haven't experienced but you get the feeling that this book was written by a person who is actually trod the paths and undergone the discipline.

The plot is well-developed, the characters are interesting and come alive and the overall story draws you in and keeps you wanting more. I would highly recommend this book, particularly to young adults. It has a lot to say to them and my hope is that the author continues producing books as good as this one.

I agree regarding your comment on Sara Shepard and John Green! Sara Shepard's books are not the best in their genre, but they're really addictive. And I also appreciate John Green's novels, but I agree. I almost did not read it because everyone was talking about it. But in the end, I didn't understand why it got so much attention. Well, I suppose it's because he's slight philosophical bend is a refreshing difference from other famous YA books.

It's a huge turn-off for me when a book gets a lot of hype and everyone is talking about it like it's heaven-knows-what. That's why I read An Abundance of Katherines before The Fault in Our Stars.
