╰⊱♥⊱╮ღ꧁Kathy,Ahmazing Book Faerie꧂ღ╭⊱♥≺ (mamabear7080) Dawn will "Birds-eye view" work for bird?

Navigating by bird’s-eye
view was difficult since street signs were
unreadable from this height,

message 102: by ~Leslie~ (last edited Jan 31, 2014 02:40PM) (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) Okay, Dawn - here's another one for girl in red. what about "artificially red lips"

Forget that one! The book won't work. How about "grandmotherly" for grandmother?

message 103: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Would "Talen" suffice for an unusual name? Also - the animals category - do they have to be animals or stuffed animals will work? Thanks!!

message 104: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Animals can be real or fake or figures of speech, so birds eye view and stuffed animals would work.

On the people I was willing to take "like a brother" so grandmotherly seems " like a grandmother" to me so I'll take it.

I'll have to look up talon.

message 105: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Ok Talen will work. My misspelling of Talon will not.

message 106: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Thanks Dawn - now I'm trying to decide between 2 different books..... One has unusual name one has fictional character... decisions decisions

message 107: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Will a sentence talking about seeing people dressed up like fictional characters work such as Wolverine, the Joker, Princess Leia? Also if I used Princess Leia for fictional character - can I use the princess part for the people one too?

message 108: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Oh Melissa the irony of it all. I am currently watching Star Wars.

Yes. You can use it for both, princess and fictional character.

╰⊱♥⊱╮ღ꧁Kathy,Ahmazing Book Faerie꧂ღ╭⊱♥≺ (mamabear7080) I know!! BONES being English and all! Monsters! quiet a few words!

message 113: by Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (last edited Jan 31, 2014 08:55PM) (new)

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 1469 comments Would you accept Bones from Night Huntress as an Englishman? Also would you accept Up From the Grave (Night Huntress, #7) by Jeaniene Frost for Girl in Red?

message 114: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) If memory serves Bones was born in England, that makes him an Englishman.

My iPad doesn't show pictures of covers but when I click the space the cover that comes up has a girl in all black. Red hair doesn't count as being "in" red.

message 115: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Roan - work for unusual name? It's a male name in the book I have.

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 1469 comments Dawn (Kat N Hat) wrote: "If memory serves Bones was born in England, that makes him an Englishman.

Okay thank you!

message 117: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Roan doesn't show up with US data on baby center . Com so I'll take it.

Turtlecollector Dennis Would this work for princess?

"Finley felt like a princess as she entered the society building on Griffin 's arm."

message 119: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Can "princess" be a term of endearment or does it have to be an actual princess?

Would the name Honoria be considered unusual?

message 120: by JenniferJ (new)

JenniferJ | 0 comments Lauren wrote: "Can "princess" be a term of endearment or does it have to be an actual princess?

LOL I also was wondering if it had to be an actual princess or could it be something like

"She waved to the crowd like a princess."

message 121: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Couple of question

"looked like drowned rats" - work for rat?

Princess - same question as Lauren - " Hello, my princess" or I have ...it was a room fit for a princess.... Yes/no?

Danielle Book Boss (daniellebookboss) | 434 comments My princess is said derisively, would that count?

"Sure, princess" said sarcastically.

message 123: by JenniferJ (new)

JenniferJ | 0 comments Will Ani or Fey work for unusual names? I tried looking them up on that baby thing but didn't understand it.

message 124: by Sam (new)

Sam (theliteraryhooker) I'm not sure if this will work for fictional place, since it's not really clear from the context if it's "real" in the book's universe or not. This is the quote:

"Josh had it in his mind to go to Middle Earth, as in the setting of Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Because if Fillory was real, why not Middle Earth?"

I read a little further on but it doesn't seem to really explain any more than that. Can you let me know if it'll work or not? Sorry, it's kind of a weird one!

message 125: by [deleted user] (new)

Will Penryn work for Unusual name?

message 126: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Ok post 4 answers all the princess questions. Real, fake, insult, term of endearment all work. If you have the word "princess" in your text I'm pretty sure it'll work.

Honoria, Fey and Penryn are all unusual names. Ani is currently #80 for 2014 so it won't work.

Rat will work, also per post 4 real or fake or figure of speech. Just not as a verb.

And middle earth is a fictional place.

╰⊱♥⊱╮ღ꧁Kathy,Ahmazing Book Faerie꧂ღ╭⊱♥≺ (mamabear7080) Of course the pure had totally ratted me out.

There was always someone willing to rat people out.

But you’re the reason I’m stuck in
this hillbilly rathole, babysitting a self-righteous prick.”

Will any of these do for RAT please Dawn. Having a hard time finding a book with all our bad words! lol

message 128: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann Would scorpion count as a bug? I think they're technically arachnids, but I thought I would take a chance and ask lol.

message 129: by [deleted user] (new)

Could this be used for fictional place

I felt as if I was Alice in Wonderland and i'd fallen down the rabbit hole

message 130: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Rabbit hole would be a fictional place.

message 131: by [deleted user] (new)

Great Dawn thanks I'll use it then :)

message 132: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Just an FYI reminder I will take toad for frog, and palace for castle.

message 133: by Jennifer H (new)

Jennifer H Would this work for hunter?...

Daddy and Mark were out deer hunting

message 134: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Would this work for frog?: "He could have been a toad headed orc for all she knew"

message 135: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann Would Corine work for unusual name?

message 136: by [deleted user] (new)

Will Jie work for unusual name?

Danielle Book Boss (daniellebookboss) | 434 comments Dawn would you mind posting the link to the name finder for unusual name to message 4? It would make it a lot easier to look up. Thanks!

message 138: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Frog and hunter work.
I
I'm on my phone so I can't post the name finder as a link. But it is babycenter.com then look up a name it will then list the rank for each year.

I will add a link and look up the names asked about here in a bit.

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Ok here is the baby name finder link.

I'll add it to post 4 also.

message 141: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Corine made it to #200 in 1998, so it isn't that unusual.

Jie has no results so it is good to go.

message 142: by [deleted user] (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Thanks Dawn

"he would hunt me down"

"All fey are hunters"

Ghost in the Stacks Would flying car count as a flying ship?

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 1469 comments Would make believe work as fictional place?

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 1469 comments Would this count as Fictional Place~Hey, when in Cimmeria, do as the Cimmerians do?

message 148: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) "All fey are hunters" will work.

Flying car would be a flying ship.

Make believe might in the right context... as in the "world of make believe" or "in Karen's make believe world" those would work.

Yes, Cimmeria is fictional.
