SOLVED. Adventure/survival YA fiction from 80s or 90s, a group of teens on an island covered in traps are hunted by scientists? [s]

I remember reading this book in junior high (mid-90s) about a bunch of kids on an island, Lord of the Flies style. I think the cover had some of them hanging out of a plane? It seems to me if Lord of the Flies and the TV show LOST got together it would be this book.

I don't think the teens ever fought each other though, they were just trying to escape. I think a couple of them were killed by whoever was hunting them.

I'll have to look closer at the lists once I'm home, but none really look familiar. I thought it might have been Escape, but I would have read the book between 1994-1998. It might very well be older, but I think it was from the 90s.

It could also be the Down Under one... the cover looks similar to what I remember.

Probably not Danger Down Under as it's set in the Australian outback. Not all the books are island ones; there's two lists above. Just trying to ensure whether they're eliminated and I'll do searching later.

If the latter, how ironic you mentioned the word Lost, as it's in the series name. Someone has asked about that series before (here and also on goodreads here and suggested here but that appears unsolved), so it must be memorable.
