What Are You Reading? 2015

My goodness what a shame! I really enjoyed A Shade Of Vampire and the second book too - can't even remember the name it's been so long - but I shelved the rest of the books as they released in the hopes of continuing on with the series once all the book were out. But alas, she jsut kept going and going and going BLAH! Hate it when authors just extend a series for the sake of adding more book and money to the bottom line. And from the reviews for and comments from readers the later books just kept dragging out the angst UGH! What a shame. The first book was so good and the story had such potential. Oh well. Whatever. I think the first series ran something like 8-10 books and then she added a spinoff and it's up to like 14 books or something LOL! Yup, never got back to it and don't reckon I'm going to either :P

Oh Laura NC is such a beautiful story. I hope you're enjoying it. I need to get back to the Maddox Boys :D still need to read the

I still need to read Pucked, so many good ones LOL! But I'll persevere yet hahaha! I'm slowly making my way to it.

For some reason I skipped Garrett..."
Oooohhh I plan on getting to Garrett's book soon :)

I've heard fantastic things!"
I've heard very good things about ATPoY too and it's yet another good book that I'm looking forward to getting to soonish.

That sucks Ash, you should be able to add the Whispersync option to the audio! You already purchased the audiobook :(

Yeah if I go into my audible library there is the option to 'purchase matching kindle book' for most of the books there, but there are a few including SoC that say 'not available'....the even weirder thing is, one of the other titles that are 'not available' is Stole. Songbird, but Hidden Huntress is available...
I very rarely do whispersync so I haven't picked up on it before...weird!

Oh I never even thought about whispersync!! I can read it I bought the Audio but not the ebook. The Price is crazy!! I may have to read this one also. But Ill give the audio a go again.
@Belkis The Maddox Brothers books are good but not as great as I thought Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster was. I wish they were actually from the Brothers themselves POV instead of the women they have romantic interests in but meh I still enjoy them! I got my son-In-Law reading them also he has beat me to Beautiful Sacrifice and is threatening to spill if I dont get to it so he will be happy to know I am reading it!! LOL

I really enjoyed DC - thought it was a good read. Hope you enjoy

The story is good just beware there are many POVs going on here and they get more and more the further into the book you get. Otherwise the story is pretty good!

I've heard fantastic things!"
I've hear..."
im in chapter 5 or 6 i dont remember... but so far so good! its very interesting and seems promising

Right before I rea..."
oo - i've been wanting to read this series. Good to know you liked it

Right before I realized that it ..."
LOVED the NC! It's so ... poetic and dreamy. It could definitely be a reason why you're having issues. lol

Well hopefully I won't get confused :-(

There are 18 books to date of Shade of Vampire the 18th just releasing a few days ago. there is a spin off called A Shade of Kiev that has 3 books to date - this one is just supposed to be a trilogy. Either way I have no plans of going back to the series. The books are no more than a few hundred pages each and dragging out the story is just crazy!! I must say they do get really good reviews but Im not interested in spending that kind of $$ on any Book series ($4.99 x 18 books = 89.82)

So A Shade of Vampire fell squarely into the not for me hole. I won't be continuing with that series. Now I'm not really sure what I'm in the mood for. Maybe something sweet and beautiful. Any suggestions?

Right before I rea..."
Hmmm, maybe this is what I'll pick up next.

I've done lots of reading lately, so here's an update:

The MC, Jess's family deals in the black market of books. There are books still out there, being hoarded or traded illegally. His father buys Jess's way in to become a scholar at the Great Library, so basically spy for the family.
The class of scholars are basically competing for 6 spots. This part of the book really reminds me of The Testing series by Joelle Charbonnaeau.
There's a little bit of magic and alchemy involved here, as there is no such thing as a printing press, its never been invented. Newspaper and textbooks are digital tablets, that are uploaded with the proper information when needed, then deleted automatically. Nothing written is ever saved, except for the personal journals and what's inside The Great Library.
Its a chilling future, and I was enthralled with the story from beginning to end!
I reread

Other than that, this was a pretty original NA story. There actually were not that many "racy" scenes, it really was more about this couple's strange relationship. I LOVED the ending to it!

Next I'm reading

Yeah Laura I agree completely on the BD & WD books, they were great. I too didn't think the first Maddox Brothers book was as good either but still a decent enough read. Like you I wish they were from the Maddox Boys POV :/

It's good so far Donna, Gavin aka Murphy is dreamy :)

Gah, that makes no sense whatsoever LOL! That has to be frustrating. I hope they add SoC to whispersync soon Ash although you'll be long done with the audiobook by that point most probably :D

Oh I loved the Off Campus series so far!! I'll bump up Pucked, Helena's Clipped Wings series is a fave of mine and I've wanted to get to this soon anyway. =)

Yeah her spin-off is supposedly with side characters, but good LORD! 18 books?! It really started to feel like she was dragging it way too far by book 6, she tossed in new elements that just seemed completely random in an attempt to keep it going. I was done! lol

I agree, the series was so unique, I loved the first few!

So very glad that I listened to my instincts and reread
!! I forgot how frustrating Nina's stubbornness was, but ooooooh how much I love sweet and sexy Jared! Might go on to book 2, just love that series!

18 books, that is insane! This series keeps getting recommended to me on audible and I have to admit I'm intrigued but not enough to commit to an 18 book series! From memory I think they're pretty short? But I tend to horde my audible credits like a squirrel so I won't be using them on this!!
Lol 18 books, it's so daunting! That's why I never even attempted the Wheel of Time series...just way too long!!!
In addition to the two books I listed, I decided to start
. I think it will have all my attention until it's finished. I can't see putting it down, really. I wanted to stay up reading it last night but, well, I should try to be awake for work so that wasn't happening!

I can't wait to read A Madness so Discreet!

It's really good. A bit creepy, which I don't normally do. But writig is really good. I get to meet her next Saturday! Super psyched.

LOL! It's all good. Either way, it's about books. So that's what matters!

Now, I want a nice juicy romance, I think. Suggestions?

I started this one three times and never got into it. I liked it okay, but I guess I wasn't in the mood for teen vamp angst. I might try again, but 18 books?!?!? Yikes.

The series is extremely popular on Kindle Unlimited. I did read that first book you read awhile back. It was entertaining and different. Then I saw book 2 on KU; I couldn't get into it. DNF.

I couldn't get the whispersync option for this book!! I think it might be something to do with Au rights restrictions, which is ridiculous because the ebook's available in the kindle store...
Anyway I'm sticking with audio for the moment, I can't afford the 12.95 for the ebook lol
