Yeah if I go into my audible library there is the option to 'purchase matching kindle book' for most of the books there, but there are a few including SoC that say 'not available'....the even weirder thing is, one of the other titles that are 'not available' is Stole. Songbird, but Hidden Huntress is available...

I very rarely do whispersync so I haven't picked up on it before...weird!

Oh I never even thought about whispersync!! I can read it I bought the Audio but not the ebook. The Price is crazy!! I may have to read this one also. But Ill give the audio a go again.

@Belkis The Maddox Brothers books are good but not as great as I thought Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster was. I wish they were actually from the Brothers themselves POV instead of the women they have romantic interests in but meh I still enjoy them! I got my son-In-Law reading them also he has beat me to Beautiful Sacrifice and is threatening to spill if I dont get to it so he will be happy to know I am reading it!! LOL

There are 18 books to date of Shade of Vampire the 18th just releasing a few days ago. there is a spin off called A Shade of Kiev that has 3 books to date - this one is just supposed to be a trilogy. Either way I have no plans of going back to the series. The books are no more than a few hundred pages each and dragging out the story is just crazy!! I must say they do get really good reviews but Im not interested in spending that kind of $$ on any Book series ($4.99 x 18 books = 89.82)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1075 comments I really hope I liked Six of Crows, I'm excited for it :)

I've done lots of reading lately, so here's an update:

Ink and Bone (The Great Library, #1) by Rachel Caine 4 stars. I really enjoyed the originality of the concept. I also really liked the characters in this one. Its basically about our world in the future...but its been altered, by the invention of "The Great Library." Basically it started a long time ago as a way to house all of the world's knowledge so anyone could learn. Over the centuries, its turned into the governing agency of all things. Books are now illegal, as well as producing or writing them in any shape or form, other than a personal diary that everyone is given when they are born. When they die, the Library archives the personal journals. The Great Library hoards all information, and releases what it deems "fit" to the masses, in other words, keeping the general public ignorant.

The MC, Jess's family deals in the black market of books. There are books still out there, being hoarded or traded illegally. His father buys Jess's way in to become a scholar at the Great Library, so basically spy for the family.

The class of scholars are basically competing for 6 spots. This part of the book really reminds me of The Testing series by Joelle Charbonnaeau.

There's a little bit of magic and alchemy involved here, as there is no such thing as a printing press, its never been invented. Newspaper and textbooks are digital tablets, that are uploaded with the proper information when needed, then deleted automatically. Nothing written is ever saved, except for the personal journals and what's inside The Great Library.

Its a chilling future, and I was enthralled with the story from beginning to end!

I reread Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter, #2) by J.K. Rowling 5 stars, Loved it of course!

Where the Road Takes Me by Jay McLean 4 stars. This one started out like my NA romance...one of the MC very troubled and needing to be saved...to find out the other party needed to be saved as well.

Other than that, this was a pretty original NA story. There actually were not that many "racy" scenes, it really was more about this couple's strange relationship. I LOVED the ending to it!

First Test (Protector of the Small, #1) by Tamora Pierce 4 stars. This was my first Tamora Pierce, and I loved it!

Firewalker (Worldwalker, #2) by Josephine Angelini 4 stars. That was a HUGE cliffhanger!!! AHHHH! I need the next book now! Overall I enjoyed the read. All I can say is, anything can and does happen in this one! And no one is safe.

The Burning Sky (The Elemental Trilogy, #1) by Sherry Thomas 4 stars. Overall, I really enjoyed this fantasy, especially the world that was very rich. I also really liked the "school chums" scenes. Some of those boys were hilarious!

The Rise of Nine (Lorien Legacies, #3) by Pittacus Lore 4 stars. Another action packed installment of the Lorien Legacies! I really enjoyed getting to know Eight a bit in this one...and amazingly Nine as well, although I didn't like him AT ALL at first!

Next I'm reading Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge

Yeah her spin-off is supposedly with side characters, but good LORD! 18 books?! It really started to feel like she was dragging it way too far by book 6, she tossed in new elements that just seemed completely random in an attempt to keep it going. I was done! lol

18 books, that is insane! This series keeps getting recommended to me on audible and I have to admit I'm intrigued but not enough to commit to an 18 book series! From memory I think they're pretty short? But I tend to horde my audible credits like a squirrel so I won't be using them on this!!

Lol 18 books, it's so daunting! That's why I never even attempted the Wheel of Time series...just way too long!!!
