Nicole I started reading Dumplin' by Julie Murphy but then my sister lent me 6 seasons of Parks and Rec and I got distracted by my binge watching. How have I not watched Parks & Rec before now?

So now I'm going to start reading again.

Almost done with Falling for the Wrong Guy by Sara Hantz . It's good, but it's got a few plot holes and a bit of insta-love that's not really all that believable on both ends. Next up I'm doing a me read with Garrett (Cold Fury Hockey, #2) by Sawyer Bennett . And I need to finish off Castle of Sighs (Forest of Whispers #2) by Jennifer Murgia . And I must start Compulsion (The Heirs of Watson Island, #1) by Martina Boone as I have an ARC of Persuasion (The Heirs of Watson Island, #2) by Martina Boone . I'm determined to get ahead in my review reads!!! DETERMINED!

Kate has motivated me to do a re-read of Providence (Providence, #1) by Jamie McGuire , which I've wanted to do for a long time but couldn't fit in with my review reads. I've cut back drastically on them at this point, so I'm making room! =)

Just finished Missing Dixie (Neon Dreams, #3) by Caisey Quinn and it was a perfect finish to another awesome Quinn series. Tortured bad boy and sweet girl turned tough to get what she wants, what's not to love?!

Next up for me (other than my re-read!!) is My Soul to Keep (Soul, #1) by Kennedy Ryan , and finishing the Calling Me series for review Calling Me Away (Calling Me, #2) by Louise Bay Calling Me Home (Calling Me, #3) by Louise Bay

I really liked the Shade of Vampire series up until around book 6. It's unique, the characters are awesome, and it's just great world-building. But she just kept going and going and going and I didn't like the direction it went. I'd be interested in hearing what you think if you end up reading on in this one!

Just about to start SoC and notice there are like a kajillion narrators...are all six POVs in first person? That's ridiculous if so...I sometimes have trouble keeping track of two alternating firsts!!

Finished Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop and Vision in Silver (The Others, #3) by Anne Bishop and loved LOVED this series! With it being adult fantasy I was expecting something a little different, but I actually found it refreshing how un-angsty it was if that makes sense...looking forward to the next one now!

message 22392: by Ashlee (new)

Ashlee | 309 comments Okay I just answered my own question - Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo is third person limited but appears to be divided into POV chapters like GoT and Falling Kingdoms....why the audio needs SEVEN different narrators for this I have no idea - the guy who does FK manages to do a pretty decent job by himself...the GoT guy is kind of creepy lol

I really dont know why there are so many Narrators even that was confusing! after about 20% or so more and more Narrators are added in and they each tell their story and then well you know them and thats it there is nothing more "amazing" to them - Maybe I was expecting too much from this book. But seriously I got to 75% after starting it at 9am yesterday morning (its now 3am) wit my audible listening speed set on 1.30 Ive restarted a few chapters and zoned out on a few so yeah I lost track of what was going on a few to many times.Time to set it aside and move on.

I see its gotten some aweosme ratings but Ive also seen that same people are having the same issue with the book as me.

It's like the audiobook version of a Christopher Nolan movie - Elizabeth Evans (Throne of Glass), Tristan Morris (Talon), David Ledoux (Shiver), Lauren Fortgang (The Grisha) ....talk about a star-studded line-up!

I think I'm going to have the same problem as you Laura - a couple of different voices for alternating first is okay, but this is too many and it's already taking me out of the story. I'm going to give the ebook a go instead! The story itself seems really intriguing but the constant change of narrator will drive me insane!

Yeah the story in itself is no way bad! Its rather good but all the alternating character POVs is a bit crazy! I didnt buy the ebook I just preordered the Audio so Im just going to set it aside for a bit Since I was listening to Night Circus Prior to starting it that could also be the reason. Im going to finish Night circus and then maybe something less all consuming of my attention and give it another go then.

Wow, SoC does sound challenging :/ with 6 POVs. Sigh. Will have to read/listen to it together so I can stay on track as I do like this author's writing and am very excited to start this new one but maybe I'll start it over the weekend so I can focus on it uninterrupted.
