Rachel Marks | 147 comments Tried Where the Road Takes Me by Jay McLean and DNF yet. Might go back to it later, it just got a bit depressing for a summer read, so it's going in the "romance books about sad things" pile. :)

Instead I moved on to Beat by Vi Keeland and finished it in one day—loved it! (Though, I wish the MC could have gotten a clue about Dylan a WHOLE lot sooner) And now I'm a third of the way through White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout . This my first JLA, and it's pretty good so far.

I'm hoping to read Throb by Vi Keeland this week too.

Well if you'd like to do two books simultaneously, I'd be up for that.
I promised myself that this summer I would put a decent dent in my TBR shelf and it's already August, so I'm working hard here ;).

Nicole D. (thereadingrebel) | 969 comments finished my reread of Midnight Thief (Midnight Thief, #1) by Livia Blackburne and loved it even more the second time. I am waiting for book 2 to come in the mail today.

finished Postern of Fate (Tommy and Tuppence, #5) by Agatha Christie and gave in 3.5 stars. The extra half star was for the writing. This book was slow and the mystery was confusing and sometimes didn't make any sense. I loved the characters and was happy to see Tommy and Tuppence in thier old age and happy.

started All Lined Up (Rusk University, #1) by Cora Carmack and I am loving it. This is my first book by Cora Carmack and it will not be my last.

Rusk University series is some of my favorite reading! I like this series better than her first one :)

Nicole D. (thereadingrebel) | 969 comments Tracy then please don't start with Postern of Fate you wouldn't want to read any of her other books. My favorites so far have been And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie and Crooked House by Agatha Christie . They were great and I couldn't listen to them fast enough. I loved the audiobooks. One is narrated by Matthew from Downton Abbey and the other by the actor that plays Captian Hastings in the Hercule Poirot series movies(Christie' most famous and loved detective).

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Okay I finished my buddy read of Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge and it was okay but not as great as her first book Cruel Beauty which I loved. The pace was too slow and the story was a bit confusing at times. Now I'm starting Magonia (Magonia, #1) by Maria Dahvana Headley for my next buddy read. I hope this is better :)

It was actually linked to the authors other series, The Lucidites, which I loved so much.

message 21573: by Ashlee (new)

Ashlee | 309 comments I managed to finish a book! - Malice at the Palace (Royal Spyness #9) by Rhys Bowen ...I completely forgot it was coming out this week!

It wasn't as good as I was hoping/expecting though...I'm not sure if that's because I'm still a little slumpy or maybe the series is getting a little tired (I hope not) but I just found I was able to put this one down to go to sleep without too much bother...the other books in this series have had me up all night!

I know it's probably not the worst problem in the world to actually get some sleep for once, but I do love the feeling of an unputdownable book!

So trying to finish up While You Were Gone (Duplexity, #2) by Amy K. Nichols because I'm overdue on my review. Also reading Playing the Player (Entangled Crush) by Lisa Brown Roberts for a blog tour. And sneak reading Dissonance (Dissonance, #1) by Erica O'Rourke in between it all. I have to also read Blackmail Boyfriend by Chris Cannon for a review/blast tour. But I haven't been able to read much except at night because I'm SO busy at work! GAH!

Bridget | 1517 comments Finished Kaleb (Alluring Indulgence, #1) by Nicole Edwards and Storm (Ashes & Embers, #1) by Carian Cole . Both were really good. Now I'm about two-thirds through Heart Recaptured (Hades Hangmen, #2) by Tillie Cole . I'm liking it, but not as much as the first one. Ky just isn't my cup of tea I think.

Oh I liked Moon Spell, although the romance frustrated me...it was one of those ones where the complications came from lack of communication and you're just like 'FOR FRICK'S SAKE JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER!!!' - but apart from that I really enjoyed it...I thought Blood Will Tell (Warriors of Ankh, #1) by Samantha Young was better though

Teresa | 606 comments Back from a quick end of summer vacation trip with the family. I snuck in a few chapters of Promise (Soul Savers, #1) by Kristie Cook which at almost halfway through is pretty good. I'm enjoying it. After that I'm switching it up with romantic comedy and starting High Tea & Flip-Flops by Linda Cassidy Lewis

message 21585: by Ashlee (new)

Ashlee | 309 comments I think I'm going to leave The Witch Hunter (The Witch Hunter, #1) by Virginia Boecker for a little while - a week or so maybe - I started it the other night and didn't mind it, got to ch 8 (about a 5th of the way through) but since I've put it down I haven't really had much inclination to pick it back up...I think it will be good but I need to wait until I'm in a better reading mood!

I've decided to go ahead and start my re-read of ToG early...there are other books coming out in the next couple of weeks that can keep me going until September 1 (who's excited about Lair of Dreams (The Diviners, #2) by Libba Bray ??) and worst case, I can always re-read the re-read! :)

Yeah, I wish. My boss is away since mid-July and doesn't return until August 17th. She takes this vacation every year. This year we have no extra help because the administrator thought she should cut our per-diem person when the census was low. Now we are BEHIND! DUH! Our department really doesn't rely on census so much as when the assessments are due for the residents. We are scrambling to get everything in and there is NO WAY I'm going to come in on the weekend and do it because it's her fault we don't have it done. I'm bitter, can you tell?
