What Are You Reading? 2015

LOVE LOVE this trilogy Veronica. Fell head over heels for all of the characters and the story is beautiful. Melina Marchetta is an amazing writer.

OMG OMG I need to start this one soon Ash. I've been waiting on needles and pins to find out what happens next in this one. So excited to hear it's fantastic! Can't wait to get to it. And what do you mean wait through 5 more times?!?! OMG are there going to be 5 more books to this series??? ARGH!! The waiting for so many books is going to positively kill us :(

I feel you Laura, I'm right there with you!! So many new and awaited new releases all in the same week!! I can't get through them fast enough! And OMG that's right the new Maddox Brothers book released too :(

wow. . . so good. Adored Archer's Voice"
LOVE LOVE Archer's Voice too Amanda :) It's so wonderful!

UGH! What??!! Oh hell no. Okay, thanks Brooke I'll read this one but not rushing to get to it so THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the heads up on this one. Will move it down my tbr.

So good Tracy, you should definitely move This Shattered World up in your tbr.

I feel you honey, I was kind of all over the place too when I was reading Iced. By the end you're in a better place with everything that's going on and then when you start Burned it'll be even better. And you at least didn't have to wait a year and a half to get to it LOL! Everything will work out because KMM is awesome like that with her genius twists and turns and knots! hahahaha!

Oh Amy Harmon is such an amazing writer Brandy. Everything she writes has that effect on readers. I've read and loved loved all of her books. Cannot wait to see what she writes next! So happy you enjoyed it.

Yay! I do hope you like it Tracy :)

Thanks Tracy. I'm feeling a bit better thank goodness. It's so hard to avoid with so many people getting sick around you. Thankfully I didn't get horribly sick. Just mostly an icky cold. Plan on resting over the weekend and reeving back up.

Definitely Tiana. This is the reason why I mix-up genres from book to book. Otherwise I'd bored and not enjoy the stories. Kind of like cleansing the pallet. Hope you're enjoying what you're reading now :)

I will tell you that

i hope i love it too. is there adult situations in this trilogy? i read only YA.

Thanks for letting us know it was good Sara :) I'll need to move The Short Life of Sparrows up my tbr. Love that cover! Please let us know how you end up liking The five Stages of Falling in Love I do enjoy this author's writing so I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this new one of hers.

The plot line was interesting and really quite good, but the whole romance thing pissed me off. It could have been totally left out because, IMO, it didn't lend anything of significance to the story.

Belkis is this the last Vlad book, or did I hear somewhere that she was writing one more?

I'm actually surprised that I'm getting so into it - I shouldn't be since it's KMM but I am. Dani - and the men - are pretty entertaining.

I CAN NOT WAIT to read Burned! It's not the last book, is it?

I don't remember if there were any "adult" situations, but honestly I'm like 99% sure there wasn't. It refers to many ... intense... situations, but it's not graphic in any way. I would definitly classify it as YA

There will be one more Vlad book. Ubless of course when she gets done writing it, she find that there should be yet another one lol.

Uncle Tex is a trip! Love him :)

I agree. I would definitely classify it YA. There are YA books out with definitely more adult situations in them

I havent read it yet but again its another in my TBR list this year

A bit but not too explicit if I remember correctly, it's been a while since I read this one so I'm sorry if I'm wrong. It's a wonderful read though so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Oh yay!! Thanks Sara I'll move it up my tbr then sweetie :D

Oh Laura let me know how you like either or both of these since I plan on reading both of these too in these next few days.

OMGOMG!!! Woohoo!! I'm so going to go see this one on the big screen. Thanks Laura for the scoop. I'm going to cross my fingers that it makes it to the big screen. On a side note I also can't wait for On The Island to hit the giant screen too!!! EEEKKKPPP!!! I need to check up on it to see how it's going since I haven't heard anything and I'm getting anxious LOL!

Oh I hope that JF can wrap up Vlad's story in 4 books because I really want to call this series done :)

Loved Finnikin!"
I plan on doing a reread of the trilogy at some point later this year Amanda. LOVE the whole crew of characters in this trilogy.

Nope Donna, it's not the last book there's like 2 more books I think :) more Barrons!! Oh and the rest of the HOT HOT guys LOL!

Yup he sure is Amanda! And I love that we get to keep getting more of all of the characters throughout the other books left in the series.

Presumably JF said she needed 1 more book for Vlad's story so she's extending it to 4 books instead of the originally projected trilogy. But at least she's just saying 1 more so there's hope of end to the waiting LOL!

I will tell you that

Yes, I would second this - the narration is excellent, although it did take me a little while to get used to the irish accent when I first picked it up back in 2013 (I'd just come off listening to Allegient and it was quite....different lol)
I also agree about being patient through the start....It was a little confusing the first time I read it as Shannon doesn't provide many explanations for her info or world to begin with, she just launches you in and expects you to be patient enough to wait and find out what's going on...if you are patient you are duly rewarded for it
I have actually come to really enjoy this style of writing and now often find books which try to clarify info by 'telling' too much at the start rather than 'showing' as the story unfolds really annoying

I hate it when unnecessary plots are thrown into a story just to fill-in length :( it just interferes with what could've been an otherwise perfectly great story. Sigh.

Oh wow, thanks for the update Laura. I had thought she was going to wrap it up in 2 more books but 1 more works great too. Less waiting time for us :)

I will tell you that

I agree with you Ash on my preference of story where the authors opt for "showing" instead of "telling" the readers what's going on.

It is a beautifully written book. Once you get the timelines - how they're happening - in your head it works really well. I loved how it came together.

I've read mostly glowing reviews that say the same thing. I think I'm not in the headspace for it yet, if that makes sense…to push through to get the reward.
