Iron Fey was just ok for me. I mean, her writing is good, but I wasn't in love with the story from the start. I didn't read the spin off yet. I hear it's good. I have the first two books.

message 12917: by Ashlee (new)

Ashlee | 309 comments Finished Gathering Darkness (Falling Kingdoms, #3) by Morgan Rhodes a few days ago and was a tad disappointed...still definitely worth reading but I dunno....maybe it's cause I was looking forward to it for so long but it just didn't have the same pull as the first two...also, without giving too much away, there were a couple of things that happened that I really didn't want to happen...BUT there was one thing that happened and I was just like YES! Finally!

Just read Born Wicked (The Cahill Witch Chronicles, #1) by Jessica Spotswood ....was okay...not really in a rush to read the rest of the series though....I think the world building could have been a bit better...and the main character was a but annoying

Yeah, I have DNF'd more books than I would have liked this year. I actually DNF'd one JLA book, Unchained. I just couldn't get past 39%. I had no desire. It wasn't holding my attention. But I'm almost done with this one so I know I'll finish it.

I just finished Tied (Tangled, #4) by Emma Chase and I'm a little sad. I will miss Drew so much! I took forever reading this one, forcing myself to stop after each chapter because I knew this was it. What will I do without him? His humor? His cockiness? NY life will be so boring without him.

I just couldn't connect with the MC. She was annoying to me. I pushed myself to read three of the four books (apparently the 4th book is a different character's POV, so I figured I could skip it). I just had so many problems with it. And I remember being kind of bored. But that's just me. Many people love it. Maybe you will, too. I haven't read anythign else by him.

message 12933: by Ekaterine (new)

Ekaterine (thegoddess) | 478 comments I got stuck in Kristen Ashley's world for two weeks. I read 5 books in Rock Chick series. Currently reading Rock Chick Reckoning (Rock Chick, #6) by Kristen Ashley but taking a little break. Neanderthals are good for guilty pleasure but after some time you just get bored of same characters over and over again. Also read Knight (Unfinished Hero, #1) by Kristen Ashley and didn't like it. Raid (Unfinished Hero, #3) by Kristen Ashley and Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1) by Kristen Ashley they were ok. Absolutely loved Knight & Play (Knight, #1) by Kitty French and Knight & Stay (Knight, #2) by Kitty French . That man is f*cking delicious!!! Just finished The Missing (The FBI Psychics, #1) by Shiloh Walker it was really good. And also currently reading Valkyrie Rising (Valkyrie, #1) by Ingrid Paulson . Does anyone know why the second book isn't out yet?

Neither was I. I quite enjoyed the first book. But all of the following books in the series have pretty much the exact same story line. The only difference is she's an ugly in the first one, a pretty in the second one etc. So she has a different "voice" in each one.

I read Valkyrie Rising so long ago. I have no idea why the second book hasn't been released. Weird, right? My only thought is that Harper didn't pick up the second book. There's nothing about it at all on Goodreads or on the author's website.
