Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments So I finished Knight (Unfinished Hero, #1) by Kristen Ashley and really liked it a lot. But again, no shocker there as I love KA's writing and so far all of her series are great. So another one I will have to try and finish up as quickly as I can. She has so many fantastic series! Next up I'm planning on Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon been wanting to get to this series forever and never seem to get to it. The books are ginormous LOL! But yeah, going to do it finally. Perfect for our September Birthstones YC :)

Outlander is like 800 pages long right? My friend and I were just talking about the show. She loves it. And she read the book. She told me to skip the book! LOL!

Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon is a really good book. You will get through it in no time because even though it's long it draws you in. My only issue with it is that I found it a bit disturbing in some parts - I'm the type of person who covers her eyes during the scary parts of movies. Still it's really good and not everything can be sunshine and roses all the time. The show is also really good. They picked Jamie's character perfectly.

Agreed Teresa, I'm about three quarters through at the moment...can't put it down! Loving the tv show as well! I have a reasonably high tolerance for some of the more gritty stuff, and while there are certainly bits that are a bit confronting I haven't found them nearly as bad as some other historical fiction books I've read and certainly no where near as bad as A Song of Ice and Fire

Yeah, even though each book features a different couple, on of the reasons I love this series so much is because pretty much all the characters are in all the books. We get to see them all again, and see them together as a community, see how they grow. I love it.

I'll maybe have to give this series another try Rebecca. I read the first one and didn't love it. But maybe it'll grow one me since so many readers seem to love this series. As with most series the first book is usually the least developed. I'll try book 2 and see how it goes I think.

Yeah, I read book one and two separately. I enjoyed them enough to continue, but not start a binge. Once I got to book 3 I just couldn't stop until I got to #10, which was the last one published at the time. :P I hope a second try proves successful for you.

It has been my experience if the first book is really good then the rest of the series can't compete. But if the first one is just OK the series gets better as it goes.

TFH didn't do it for me, but SS was good, but also shocking to me. I am disappointed to see that the next book will be the last. (view spoiler). I also felt when Sydney said she was tired and just wanted peace I felt that the author was saying she was tired and didn't want to do this anymore, am I reading into this, probably. How much do you want to bet though she does ANOTHER spin off just about Jill?

I actually preferred Bloodlines over VA, however with the past two books the scales are starting to lean back to VA. Bloodlines I thought was brilliant, but it's....not as strong as it once was.

I think you could be right...unless the strigoi/spirit thing is wrapped up in the next book I'm thinking there will be another spin-off and I'm fine with that, I love this world and these characters, and if the focus of another series is Jill and Eddie that would be awesome....I think Mead has always planned for six books, it was the same in VA and if there's another series I imagine it will be six books as well

message 9398: by chinami (new)

chinami | 697 comments I am sad that Ruby circle will be the last of this series. Granted, I loved V A better but blood lines is different although a teeny bit simple. But somehow Mead makes her characters come alive and I love it nevertheless.
I was so psyched about the ending. I trust Mead to cleverly wrap up book 6.
As for spin off, I hope she adds an epilogue to book 6 and move on to explore new concepts.
