That's how I found The False Prince (The Ascendance Trilogy, #1) by Jennifer A. Nielsen it was a free audio and I listened to it because I didn't have anything else. I feel in love with all of them.

What is a TBR jar? Do you put the names of all your books in a jar and draw one out?

Just watched The Giver and it was touching and by my recollection of the book it was similar. However, I have to say that Meryl Strep is an awesome actress.

Donna | 1350 comments finished up Until November (Until, #1) by Aurora Rose Reynolds , which was good, not great. I think the editing errors threw me off, but I still enjoyed the book. still listening to Froi of the Exiles (Lumatere Chronicles, #2) by Melina Marchetta & ITS SO GOOD! Even cracked up laughing at something he said on my way to work this morning. It wasn't expected. And I've started reading Tamed (Tangled, #3) by Emma Chase .

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments So I finished Perfection (Neighbor from Hell, #2) by R.L. Mathewson and it was great. This series is very good and I'm looking forward to books 3 & 4. I also finished Bikers and Tinsel (The MC Sinners, #3.5) by Bella Jewel which was really good too and I loved getting back to the MC characters. Now I'm a third way into Emerald Green (Precious Stone Trilogy, #3) by Kerstin Gier and enjoying it. I've enjoyed this trilogy a lot and very excited about finding out how it all ends.

I read the first three. Then I thought I'd wait for the final book to come out before I rushed into the 4th and 5th. But I still haven't gotten to them. I have them sitting on my shelf. Since it was planned as a trilogy originally, I feel like the third book did a great job of bringing everything together. So I don't feel a rush to get into the others. I would like to read them eventually, though.

For some reason I could not get into these books. I started reading the City of Bones and quit then I got it on audio because sometimes I can tolerate a book better that way but it didn't help. I did finish it but it just didn't tickle my fancy.

I read the first two TMI and was just like "meh" -

Spoilers if you haven't read the first two:

i think it was definitely the Jace/Clary thing that turned me off....even though i'm sure it probably works out somehow in the later novels, it doesn't make it any less uncomfortable in the first two (particularly the 2nd)...I also hated in the second how, just because Clary couldn't have Jace she decided to date Simon...I really hate when authors do that, it makes the MC seem incredibly shallow and as though they don't value their friends at all.

Anyway, I haven't read TID yet but I have the first one on my shelf and will give it a go at some stage, everyone seems to think that series is better but to be honest i'm just a bit meh about Cassandra Clare

message 9039: by Lajuana (new)

Lajuana | 6 comments That was very awkward at first yes, the Jace and Clary issue, but it gets resolved sure enough, and thank God! The series gets much better..Honestly I love the characters, well some I hate but Magnus Bane alone is enough for me lol...I can't wait for The Bane Chronicles

message 9040: by Ashlee (new)

Ashlee | 309 comments Also, I noticed someone saying a while back (last week or the week before) something about a follow up to The Selection (The Selection, #1) by Kiera Cass The Elite (The Selection, #2) by Kiera Cass The One (The Selection, #3) by Kiera Cass

It is true - I saw it available for pre-order on Amazon when i was buying something else the other day - It's called The Heir and it is an actual complete novel.

Now - I am one of those people who read all three books because I was just like "meh, it's not great but it's not horrible, it only takes a few hours to read, may as well see what happens in the end" ...now I actually feel kind of ashamed that I am one of the people that contributed to Kiera Cass's "best seller" title and made her think it was okay to write a follow up

oh wow I didn't put "The Bane Chronicles" and "Magnus Bane" together (it was a while ago that I read the first two lol...she is really milking the mortal instruments/infernal devices world isn't she??

Although I suppose, why not? if people like them, it's not that much different to Richelle Mead with VA and Bloodlines...I would certainly be happy with another "VA world" series from Mead :)

Finished Isla and the Happily Ever After (Anna and the French Kiss, #3) by Stephanie Perkins and absolutely ADORED it. Just as much as Lola. I can't decide if I like Lola or this one better. But I'm sad to say goodbye to all these characters. Did I see she might write more?
