I'm excited to get started. I love her League series.

Weird, I was the opposite. I thought the first 2 books were just kinda meh, but the third was the first on that I really loved. It got better as it went on.

Glines is maybe a tad bit to sweet for me. I know, I know you guys love her stuff but I just finished The Vincent Boys (The Vincent Boys, #1) by Abbi Glines and its just sweet. I loved Existence (Existence Trilogy, #1) by Abbi Glines trilogy but this one was tooooo romance for me. Maybe I'm just done with the contemp romance right now. (I think I said that already. Need to listen to my own advice)

Yeah Tracy, I really liked A Shade Of Vampire too and read the first 3 books I think before setting the series aside when I saw that the ending was going to be long in coming. I have to try and get back to it now that all of the books are out. Hopefully it will be worth the read.

Yes I did like The Maze Runner a lot Tracy. It took me a few days to finish it because between work and family I couldn't get enough reading time and I wanted to have peace so I could focus on it since it has a very intricate plot. Looking forward to book 2.

Kate (kate_sparkes) Tracy, I'm waiting for the paperback on that one. I hate waiting, but having the books on my shelf not match is worse! :)

Thanks for the tip, Cover Contessa! Let me try... I'm picking up Uglies (Uglies, #1) by Scott Westerfeld right now instead.

Got the first one as a kindle freebie and just couldn't put them down! Would definitely recommend for anyone who enjoyed The Winner's Curse (The Winner's Trilogy, #1) by Marie Rutkoski - The True Reign series has a similar sort of feel to it: fictional world, no fantasy elements, political unrest, ya romance etc

The first book Obsidian is free on Amazon now and I grabbed it, but I can't find the 0.5 book. Do I need to read that first or is that just a novella prequel written after the first book was already released?

Laura (llbasaldua) | 790 comments Shadows 0.5 Onyx
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. As a Luxen, an alien life form on Earth, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane.

Dangerous. Tempting. Undeniable.

Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, she can’t stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in.

Captivated. Lured. Loved.

Dawson is keeping a secret that will change her existence...and put her life in jeopardy. But even he can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or from a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself.

No you dont need to read it but it does give some insight into what happened with the above and also how Daemon was before Katy.

@Brooke yeah I liked the first two books they were ok I was expecting some amazing story or something and some steamy hawt scenes (they didnt have to be graphic) or something to understand just why everyone thought Daemon was so Swoon worthy.I liked his snark it was there a bit but the books -to me were just to immature even more so than some YA I've read.

I can see it, for sure. I loved the first book. Flew through it. Loved Daemon's snark. And there were some tense sexually laced scenes, especially the one in the living room with the stuff exploding and all. But the series as a whole kind of dragged for me. And it lost it's umph as I went along.

Who/what is Blake? Is he a ghost?
What are the shadows? Are they ghosts?
What's with all the cats?
What the hell is upstairs at Blake's house? Why is it playing old music and sacrificing cats? Is it a ghost?

So many things I need to know! So much suspence! Please tell me we find out what's upstairs by the end of the book.
