The only book I've read in the list you had was Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn . It was pretty good. I'd give that a chance for sure. I know everybody loves Harry Potter and the Percy Jackson books but I haven't read them.

The book has a twist in it. It starts out leading you in one direction and then takes you in a total different direction. It's hard to describe without giving too much away. The book is told in alternating POVs by a couple with a less than stellar marriage. I thought it was a good book but I can see how some people might not like it because even though it was an interesting story and written well the characters, pretty much all of them, aren't particularly likeable.

Oh OK Teresa. I was thinking a woman disappears, they blame husband, and you just go through the motions. Sounds kind of like Defending Jacob by William Landay which blew my mind at the end.

I liked Gone Girl, though it took me a while to get into it and I hated nearly every character in that book. I still ended up 4 starring it because once it picked up, I got really sucked in. I still wanted something awful to happen to those people, though.

Reading Indexing by Seanan McGuire

It is a bit like Defending Jacob by William Landay but the characters are more unlikeable in that there's this twist at the end that you didn't see coming. Jacob's dad to me seemed like a nice guy. You won't say that about the couple In Gone Girl. Yes, it is about a woman who disappears and they do blame her husband but halfway through the book everything you're thinking changes.

I agree. I thought it was a good book and I was very curious how it would all play out but the characters were just crappy people all around.

Scott-robert Shenkman | 202 comments Tousle Me A New Adult Parody by Lucy V. Morgan

This has to be the funniest thing I have ever read. I am not reading it while I eat or drink and never when I am in public. It seems to have every single NA cliche in the book. It even mocks Goodreads.

There are quite a few poor reviews of it and I think it's by people who don't read enough NA.

It's LUYG funny (laugh until you gag. I just made that up. Maybe I'll become Goodreads famous. Of course then I'll need a unicorn and a dead octopus.

Belkis, I had really high hopes for it. You know how I love those childhood love stories and always looking for the next Sweet Gum Tree. The writing isn't bad but it frustrated me. The use of drugs, alcohol and sex at such a young age kind of turned me off. Let me know how you like it when you read it.

It's such a hard book to explain. When I was done I couldn't actually decide if I liked it or hated it. I know a lot of people really liked it but the main characters were too messed up for me
