Tom Earhart While reading "And Then There Were None" the suspense was killing me. I believe this book to be one of the best mystery books I have ever read. So many questions ran through my mind like, "Who's going to be next?" and "Who could it be?" One by one the men and women on the island started to die mysteriously. People began to panic because they were on an island and they didn't know how to escape. They needed to stay calm or else the next person dead was going to be them. On page 96, "There's only eight, sir! Only eight! It doesn't make sense, does it? Only eight..." (Christie 96) This woman began to panic herself. I liked how Agatha Christie made each death different and a little more creative than the last one. On page 74, Agatha shows the emotional effect that all these murders are having on the people that are still alive and on the island. "Sleep would not come to him." (Christie 74) This shows that the man would not sleep because he is so scared that he will be the next person to die. I liked how Agatha showed what was going on in the character's heads while all this was going on and made for some great scenes. Overall this book was great, and would recommend it to others.

Can't agree more. Agatha always keeps you guessing. I would hate to see a movie of the novel. Too scary!

Exactly! It's been ages since I've read the book but it's left such a deep impression in my mind that I still recall how desperate I was to get to the end to know how 'there were none'!You want suspense...It's Christie!

Irina This is my favorite Agatha Christie book! I'm always telling people to read it, but I don't get many takers. This was the only one of her books that made me jump. I bought the movie and although it was interesting to watch it come to life, it pales in comparison to the suspense you feel when you watch it. I'm curious to know if anyone else has watched it...

This was a great book! I found so many aspects intriguing. And like you said one of them is the mental undoing of the characters. At first they scoff at the idea of murder when the first person died. They think maybe did he kill himself? They even seem to enjoy each other's company but as the deaths come again and again they are more unnerved, less social because anyone else could be next... and anyone they are eating with could kill them the moment they turn their backs!

This was a great book I loved writing the review to it as well.

This was my first (but definitely won't be last) Agatha Christie book I ever read!

Fiona I saw a stage production of And Then There Were None years ago and I thought there just couldn't be the same suspense, as I had already read the book. How wrong I was! I almost jumped out of my seat at one point! Great book and all credit to the production - they did it proud.

J. Dallas It was a great read. None of the three movies did it justice. But then does any movie based on a book?

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* The ending of this was incredibly hard to guess - I was surprised by the who it was. Not only that, I love the drawn out explanation that makes perfect sense afterward.

This book was introduced to me by a friend who promised me that it was the best murder mystery story she has ever read. So I gave the book a go and in my conclusion IT IS THE BEST MURDER MYSTERY STORY I HAVE EVER READ till this very day. I don’t know if it’s just me and reading the wrong novels but every murder mystery story, or just crime story I have ever encountered I was always able to guess the main murderer, but in this novel, oh no it was an absolute surprise.

Satya R There is nothing that can stop you once you get on with this book. This is an ultimate suspense thriller I have and will ever come across. Took me two days to complete this book on my Kindle. I'd recommend this book to everyone and a must read for every Christie fan.

Jay Munsterman As much as I enjoyed this book I have to say it struck me that she was out to engineer a plot line more than a great thriller. How do you put all these people together and have them ALL die. Fun, but maybe not her best.

Monica I enjoy reading a lot but I can't say I get affected by things I read, I've never been kept awake by a scary story but...this book made the hairs on the back of my neck creep. It made me realise that I was sitting alone in the room. It made me realise that my back was to a very large window and it made me realise that it was pitch black outside. I had to put the book down, go talk to my dad about nothing for five minutes and then carry on with it. It was 19 years ago and I still remember the feeling so I rate this as perfect suspense writing.

Laura Herzlos Everything is possible. I keep forgetting some books that I read. Some of them are not even listed here in Goodreads.

Anyway, about this book: It was weird, but I saw the movie first (I don't even know which adaptation) and the suspense was so awesome, that I wanted to read it. I had never read anything by Agatha Christie. And then, the book was even better! Later, I read most of her other stories, but this one remains my favorite!
