On page 130 of Fade
(view spoiler)[I'm not enjoying this one at all so far. I'm not seeing how her ability has any impact on the story. You can tell that Durbin is creepy and inappropriate with his students. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if Wang was also in on it with him. I'll be surprised if there's a reason her ability will help catch the bad guy.

And I'm getting so tired of Janie and Cabel fighting over the dumbest things! Every misunderstanding gets blown out of proportion, when if they would just speak to each other it probably wouldn't of even been an issue.

Miss Stubin's character gets even more confusing. Its sounds like she's a ghost, or something very similar to that, but at the same time it's not clear. I'm hoping that we'll get to know what's in that green notebook and maybe that'll clear some of the issues with Miss Stubin's part in the story. (hide spoiler)]

True that, she's using the usual YA drama. couple gets together, misunderstanding, breaking up/ almost breaking up, misunderstanding clear, smooch...

(view spoiler)[That party buster was such a drag. Come on, weren't the police watching the house? How many naked men forcing themselves on a girl do you need to see before busting in? They were on the balcony, right? Or were the cops watching only the front of the house? This cops maybe.

Her dream catcher ability had nothing on this case. They only time she uses it is when Stubin tells her what she needs to do.

Also, those were some horrible teachers. I can't believe all 3 of them managed to find themselves in the same highschool.

And Cable, OMG, you're girlfriend went through a trauma, but don't mind her, just go and cry in the bathroom about how you couldn't save her and break up with her. Nice going there chump.

Almost forgot about that damn green notebook. Gezz, it felt like a 5 years old wrote it: are you sure you want to read this? are you really sure you want to read this? are you really, really.... OMG! Go on with it! Yes I'm sure, why else would I have opened it if not? (hide spoiler)]

All in all, I'm giving this 2 stars because it was less boring than the first, but still a weak book :( .

I know! The police just didn't seem realistic to me at all. I'm pretty sure they supposedly had one cop on the opposite street watching the backyard area, so I was surprised that it took them SO long to stop things.

Her dream catcher ability had nothing on this case.
One of the only things I like about this series is her ability, even though it's really a silly ability when you think about it, so it was more disappointing when it had no point to the story.

My thoughts exactly! Two was a stretch for me, but three? It just seemed too unlikely.

lol...that's exactly what I thought about it. It was made out to be such an important book, but I just thought it was silly. Yes she learned that if she continues to use her ability she'll more than likely go blind and lose the use of her hands, but if I was her I'd want to know that - not have a book written warning me about it but then the same book almost doesn't get read because of all the warnings that things will never be the same. Anyway, I've read half of the book so far and this is all that we know: he's in a coma and he's a dream catcher and Ms. Stubin is back even though she said she won't return. <.< (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[What a total waste of my energy. I can easily claim that nothing happened in this book. This was about a girl trying to choose between 2 horrible futures. She first chooses the one where Cabel is not with her because it would be easier on her and him like that. Ok, I agree, go and live alone. Then she finds out that, even though she won't be blind and crippled, doing so will make her die in her 40es. So, off we go, back to Cabel because he promises to take care of her and she'll live longer.

Are you kidding me? This girl just goes and chooses whatever fits her best and always finds solutions to justify her actions.

Also, this novel was full of unnecessary drama and it lacked action. (hide spoiler)]

I'm 50% done, will most likely finished today. I don't know how much I like this book yet. All I know was that I couldn't put it down last night.

I don't get why being a dream catcher has another to do with going blind and getting gnarled hands. Like the eyes sorta make sense, but the hands? What gives?

And another thing. Why was Cabel all pushy about Janie knowing her father? He managed to persuade her in like seconds. I feel like she should have put up more resistance. And why does he want her to know him, especially with how much of an arse his father was!

One thing I do like about this book, is how fast it goes by. I open it up and ten minutes later I've read like forty pages or something. (hide spoiler)]

This book is really boring. For having read over hundred pages, not much has happened. I already thought her ability was going to be hereditary, so no big surprise there. I didn't think people in comas dreamed either.

See I understand the idea of why her hands might get gnarled, she always seems to have seizures when she's catching dreams, but the eyes were what I thought was weird even though I agree it does make a little sense. It's just that the whole ability isn't that great and is really kind of dumb. It could have been so wonderful, but it has just been a let down.

I felt the exact same way! Everything is always about her, but she tries to make herself believe she's doing things the way she does for others.

Couldn't agree more!

I personally don't understand why she doesn't avoid dream catching until she get a headache and then catch one. Wouldn't that delay the her going blind and being crippled? It sounded like her dad had headaches for a long time before he became hospitalized.

And what a stupid way for Janie to help Henry, he has to help her with a nightmare so he can die. (hide spoiler)]

There was one thing that really annoyed me about Gone (view spoiler)[ This Morton's fork business. Seriously how many hints was the author going to put in there about the "real" choice for Janie? God I figured it out a good 60 pages before Janie did and I just wanted to smack her not that I could. Ugh, frustrating.

I think I liked this book but I'm not sure how much I did. There wasn't much happening in it which was nice but could also be bad, because its the last book in the trilogy. I found all the stuff with her father pretty interesting and it was cool to know where Janie got her "gift" from.

I wonder why Janie didn't try to take her mother to the AA meeting or you know do something else about her. Her mother was seriously annoying. But yeah, that's about all I got. (hide spoiler)]
