She's written them out of order, so it sorta reads OK but then you think something isn't quite right, like you're missing something. But not enough to put you off.

Finished This Same Earth (Elemental Mysteries, #2) by Elizabeth Hunter , I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the first one, but it was good. Also finished Wolf Reborn (Westervelt Wolves, #3) by Rebecca Royce Charred Tears (Heart of Fire, #2) by Lizzy Ford (Charred Tears was so much better than Charred Heart). Then, I read Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops by Jen Campbell , which was so hilarious!

I'm not generally into historical romance at all, but I tried Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake (Love By Numbers, #1) by Sarah MacLean for a change.

Also, I've been on a Psy-Changeling whirl. Read Play of Passion (Psy-Changeling, #9) by Nalini Singh Kiss of Snow (Psy-Changeling, #10) by Nalini Singh Tangle of Need (Psy-Changeling, #11) by Nalini Singh . I loved Kiss of Snow the best of the three. I had to stop myself from reading Heart of Obsidian (Psy-Changeling, #12) by Nalini Singh and force myself to read another book!

Now I'm reading Cold Iron (Cold Iron, #1) by D.L. McDermott .

Because of Sandra... I discovered Scarlet (Alpha Marked, #1) by Celia Kyle Gabriella (Alpha Marked, #2) by Celia Kyle and Whitney (Alpha Marked, #3) by Celia Kyle and really enjoyed the setup, there is a lot of potential for additional books and really wish these were longer.

Also read No Rest for the Wicked (Immortals After Dark, #3) by Kresley Cole and Howling For You (Chicagoland Vampires, #8.5) by Chloe Neill

How was Mystic Wolves series, I've read #1 & the Chrissie one (with stories with Jasmine in them - so sad).

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9661 comments Catching up after a series I had left aside a few years ago, glad I continued because I loved Styxx (Dark-Hunter, #22) by Sherrilyn Kenyon (and the audiobook was nice to listen to).

Onto Howl For It (Pride, #0.5) by Shelly Laurenston and I`ll be one more book away from catching with this one as well (until Bite me gets released that is).

I'm actually enjoying it... Reads more YA in the beginning books but more adult in the latest. It keeps taking sharp turns in the plot that end in pretty good cliff hangers. Luckily I had the next one on hand...

Like any series with +20 books, some are better than others but the ove all quality is there still after so many years. It's one of those PNR that I can say has a great story arc and a solid world building. I can't judge how close to the Greek mythology ( and other pantheons) is the story but there are no glaringly obvious mistakes and I really like the author to be consistent.

As the series goes on, it gets less cheesy too. Yes, you should continue reading.

Josie | 1967 comments Read Sora's Quest (The Cat's Eye Chronicles, #1) by T.L. Shreffler Viper's Creed (The Cat's Eye Chronicles, #2) by T.L. Shreffler Volcrian's Hunt (The Cat's Eye Chronicles, #3) by T.L. Shreffler all at once, first book is free. It's an addictive series and a good read for anyone who likes fantasy, but not very heavy if that makes sense? Also I loved the romance, it's a slow builder and it enhances the storyline rather than overshadows it :)

message 136: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Yay! Hope ya'll enjoy Kemmerer's Elemental series! :D

Glad to hear you liked the first book in Green's Nightside series, Sandra. I need to get back to that series. I stopped around #8, but have the last 4 TBR.

I also want to start those series, Lis (and ditto on the Sandra rec). :)

I read Born in Blood (The Sentinels, #1) by Alexandra Ivy . This was the first book by Alexandra Ivy that I've read and I liked it. The H/h have already worked together several times and have an existing crush (putting it mildly) by the time the book starts, so we jump right in with them. I wouldn't mind a prequel to catch their meeting. I'll be continuing the series.

message 137: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments I remember when I read an Alexandra Ivy book when I wasn't feeling well, and it made me feel better, so I always have good vibes for her. Glad to see you enjoyed the book. IMO she's a good writer :)

message 138: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Funny how certain books make you think of times in your life when you read it and bring back those good/bad feelings. I have several like that. Same for certain songs, yah? :)

message 139: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Absolutely, comfort reads always have a special place in your heart.

As to AI, I'm up to date in her Guardians of Eternity series and really enjoy them. I've got Born in Blood and I'm looking forward to it.

message 140: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments So true! Books and songs/albums can make me feel so strange because of the memories or feelings associated with them.

That's good to hear Sandra, makes me want to get up to date with that series as I enjoyed #1. Hope Born in Blood is a good read :)

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9661 comments I've never read any of Alexandra Ivy's books, maybe I should try one.

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 25 comments I finished Magic Lost, Trouble Found (Raine Benares #1) by Lisa Shearin last night. I liked it, but I'd figured that I was going to. Will continue the series.

Michelle (quill_n_ink) | 37 comments Read Unrestrained (Unrestrained #3) by S.E. Lund , third and last book of the Unrestrained Series; it was just released last week. So good!

Then I read Stripped by Jasinda Wilder (a stand-alone as far as I know) from my TBR shelf. It was pretty good; I finished it but was a little underwhelmed. Time for some PNR so I've returned to the Scansguard Vampires series, Amaury's Hellion (Scanguards Vampires, #2) by Tina Folsom . Another book from my TBR shelf so why isn't that list getting any shorter?!

It's nothing to write home about. but i enjoyed it more than the Dark Carpathians by C.Feehan

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Mello, hubby and I started the audio of Alex Verus, but haven't finished it. What we listened to so far (~ 60%) was good.

Read a prequel: Invisible Prison (Alex Noziak, #0.5) by Mary Buckham and liked it enough to grab #1: Invisible Magic (Alex Noziak, #1) by Mary Buckham .

Reading: Under Attack (Underworld Detection Agency, #2) by Hannah Jayne
