Happy New Year & New Reads, Everyone! Hope 2014 is very good to you and yours!
I've been on a Secret McQueen binge for the past couple of weeks. I'm currently reading book 5,
and will most likely read #6 straight after. Then, it's time to wait as #7 isn't due until July, but #8 will be out in 2014 (Dec) as well. :)
Read
Needed a shifter break and picked up
for a holiday read which led to
and
. Now I'm on the hunt for my next book.... Suggestions?
I am desperately trying to get through the Kate Daniels series, I started it a few years ago and puttered out. I have re read the first 4 books, finished 2 novellas and am currently reading
. I'm really enjoying this series, this world and its characters.

Have you read the McCabe trilogy by Maya Banks?
Lisa Kleypas' The Gamblers:
Karen Marie Moning's The Highlander:
Just finished Full Moon Risingway better than I thought it would be. Slowly working on The Shadow Reader and Halfway to the Grave. :)

Finished
and am now working on
it's a little slow going I'm not as in love with Andrea as I am with Kate :(. I wish she would write a full length novel from Dali's point of view. I adore her <3
I didn't care for Gunmetal Magic. And I love love love all the other Kate Daniels and Clean Sweep books.
Started
good so far but RL is getting in the way. We're hosting a belated Chrissie with the hubby's side of the family on Sunday. Why, why did I volunteer ~ I'd rather be reading!!
Finished:
I really like Neill's shifters, even though the series focuses more on her vamps (obviously). And, Jeff's my favorite - a tiger ... purrrrr. So, the relationship bit I really liked, the rest of the story was kinda meh. Not a bad short between books though.

I got say, the character growth in this series tops all others (or most, anyway). And, each book moves the story forward - sometimes by leaps and bounds.
LOL Sandra! Hope ya'll have a Happy Christmas celebration!
We have a scheduled (what's that about?) base-wide power outage all day tomorrow (booooo!), so I'm freezing some water bottles, making sandwiches, digging out candles, and charging all my gadgets. :/
Hope it goes okay Sandra - at least a celebration will perk January up a bit! IMO, it's got to be the worst month!GTK Steph about the Jane Yellowrock series! I have the first two on hand but yet to start them, and character growth/series progression is a big thumbs up!
Boo about the power outage! That's so weird. Hope you can still get lots of reading done :)
I'm reading
, last in the Jane True series.
Thanks Ladies, its the cleaning I don't like, had to do it at Chrissie for my side of the family, now the same all over again, and the cooking, does it never end!!!!!Yeah, I haven't started Jane Y either, got a couple of them, and just ordered the Jane True one's as well.
Pity about the outage, but great planning!!
Thx Ezinwayni, I've read KMM, but have downloaded samples of Kleypas and Banks. Read
and working on
. In audio doing a re-listen of
and
. Ready for
next.
I'm reading
and it is amazing. Kind of a little bit like The Hunger Games on speed with a bit of GoT thrown in. The writing is fantastic.
I love that description. :)I somehow got enmeshed in reading several anthologies at once and they are fantastic. If you are fans of the authors in these books then you need to check them out:
Yay Jackie, I really enjoyed it, but the wait for the next book is always a killer.I'm finally back to reading
and really really enjoying it. So different to other dragon books.
Thanks, ladies. All went well got some reading done and beat hubby at some board games. :) Great description, AH. I'll have to check that one out.
Regina, I have sooo many anthologies TBR. Maybe I should binge on a few too.

Glad to hear it AH, always nice to get validation :DDDJust finished
yeah, yeah, I know, everybody else has already read it. So I'm slow and just getting around to them. Enjoyed it, to me it had the feel of the Mythos Academy, different story, but the feel of the setting and the bad vamps vs good vamps kinda thing.
Interesting, I bought the first 5 books when they came out, then thought I should stop doing that, what if I hate them. Checked last night and the local library has 6 so I don't need to buy it to find out what happens in the end.I do think that Rose & Lissa have a dependency issue going on, so, not surprised you wanted to punch her, she is pretty psycho.
Don't do the audio of Vampire Academy. I only listened to #5 (read the others) and it was done so poorly.
I hated having to wait for those books to be released. Were you upset with Rose b/c of (view spoiler)
In this New year, till now I've read
. Really loved both of these. Helen Harper's books are really good. I also finished
.
Finished
just now. This book was also really good. Glad I bought the second book beforehand.
Now I'm going to start

Is it just me or are kindle book prices spiralling up and up. Just went to look into preordering
and it was US$8 & AUD$8.90. Which seems a lot, the earlier books are now $7.50/$8.00 and I know I didn't pay that either.
That is a bit much for a ebook, IMO. More than a PB copy? Read:
and some shorts by Tiffany Reisz (Daniel Part Two & A Christmas Maggie)Not sure what I'll start next - nothing looks super appealing at the moment. :/
I'd heard good things about Brigid Kemmerer's Elemental series, so I decided to give it a go. Read:
Reading:
We're looking for a good road trip book that's similar to Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid or Jocelynn Drake's Asylum Tales, if ya'll know of anything, please share. :D
