AH | 2271 comments I'm reading Death Sworn (Death Sworn, #1) by Leah Cypess . It's surprisingly entertaining.

Finished the book. It started off promising...was about a 3 star read for me by the end.

Sandra | 25908 comments Arielle Rae, no info on her website either, but I did find out she lives in my State, NSW. Whoo hoo!!

message 56: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin | 862 comments I'm back from my vacation and finally have time to read again! I finished Broken Blade (Colbana Files #3) by J.C. Daniels which was really good and am now on Off the Edge (The Associates, #2) by Carolyn Crane .

message 57: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Kerstin, glad you liked Broken Blade, I preordered but haven't got to it yet. Hope you enjoyed your vacation :)

Finished Obsidian (New Species, #8) by Laurann Dohner last night, and gotta say the last part of the book was excellent. About 3/4 the way through Killbox (Sirantha Jax, #4) by Ann Aguirre and it feels like a cliffhanger coming up. Luckily I've got the next one handy.

message 58: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin | 862 comments Yes, I had a fantastic vacation, Sandra, thanks!
I love the Sirantha Jax series; enjoy :)

message 59: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Yay Kerstin!

Finished Killbox (Sirantha Jax, #4) by Ann Aguirre this afternoon, 5 stars and just finished some space porn Planet Mail (Mail Call, #1) by Kate Pearce

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2516 comments Listening to Consequences (Consequences, #1) by Aleatha Romig and reading Making Faces by Amy Harmon

message 61: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments LOL *space porn* >;)

I've got Carolyn Crane's RS series TBR. Loved her UF.

I gobbled up Kemmerer's Elemental series.
Read: Fearless (Elemental, #1.5) by Brigid Kemmerer Spark (Elemental, #2) by Brigid Kemmerer Breathless (Elemental, #2.5) by Brigid Kemmerer Spirit (Elemental, #3) by Brigid Kemmerer
My favorite brothers are the twins - Michael is a close 2nd, if you count the twins as one. ;) And, try as I might, even after learning more about him in Spirit, I just don't care for Hunter. Glad I finished up in time for Secret (Elemental, #4) by Brigid Kemmerer , which drops on the 28th.

Started listening to Fated (Alex Verus, #1) by Benedict Jacka with hubby on roadtrip. We got 63% in, but now it's on hold until we're able to listen together. We're both enjoying that one and will most likely continue on with the series at some point.

I got an ARC of Banishing the Dark (Arcadia Bell, #4) by Jenn Bennett (Yipppeeee!), so that's up next.

message 62: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin | 862 comments Steph, I really loved Carolyn Crane's 'Disillusionists' series as well; one of my favourites. And though RS isn't really my genre, I'm enjoying CC's take on it quite a bit. She writes such unique characters!

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9661 comments I'm steadily reading the Pride series The Mane Attraction (Pride, #3) by Shelly Laurenston The Mane Squeeze (Pride, #4) by Shelly Laurenston Beast Behaving Badly (Pride, #5) by Shelly Laurenston , now on Big Bad Beast (Pride, #6) by Shelly Laurenston .

Having some issues with the audio of The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave, #1) by Rick Yancey because some parts did not download to my phone correctly but otherwise an interesting tale.

I agree - love her writing. I have #1 of the Associates to try.

message 65: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Finished Black Arts (Jane Yellowrock, #7) by Faith Hunter in audio... Awesome!

Back in the shifter mood and read The Mane Squeeze (Pride, #4) by Shelly Laurenston and zipped thru Chasing Sam (Vegas Mates, #1) by Krystal Shannan Saving Margaret (Vegas Mates, #2) by Krystal Shannan and Waking Sarah (Vegas Mates, #3) by Krystal Shannan

Reading The Warlord Wants Forever (Immortals After Dark, #1) by Kresley Cole

@ Steph - Very jealous about your ARC Banishing the Dark (Arcadia Bell, #4) by Jenn Bennett , very anxious for that one too... Happy Reading!

I love the Elemental series, Steph. I totally agree with you- the twins and Michael are great. Though I came to sympathize a bit with Hunter after reading Spirit. Secret (Elemental, #4) by Brigid Kemmerer does not contain that much Elemental action- its more about the problems faced by Nick and Quinn- though I liked very much still- hope you'll like it too!

message 69: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Val, love the Prides'; Lis I've got Vegas Mates to read, what did you think of them?

Also jealous of you getting the next Cady, Steph, I've preordered.

Finished The Warlord Wants Forever (Immortals After Dark, #1) by Kresley Cole & Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione

message 70: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Sandra they were good quick reads. The first one was a freebie... Strong family packs, shifters finding their soul mates vs family arranged mating alliances and a scary governing Council in Europe... I liked them.

message 71: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Thanks Lis, GTK :) Yes, I picked up the first one as a freebie too.

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9661 comments I read the first Vegas mate one too, I wished it was not a short because the story had potential.

That was my feeling too... Wished they were full books.

Kerstin | 862 comments Just started Summoning the Night (Arcadia Bell, #2) by Jenn Bennett and I'm really enjoying it so far.

message 75: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Thanks, Preethi, I'm sure I will. Breathless only increased my interest in Nick's story.

I'm loooooving Banishing the Dark! I had to make myself walk away from it this AM so I wouldn't finish it in record time. It was hard, but I've no doubt I won't be able to stop myself when I sit with it again tonight.

Glad you're enjoying the series as well, Kerstin. Each book is better than the one before it, IMO. But, they are all great reads. :D

I love that series!

Steph - I'm so jealous that you already have Banishing the Dark (Arcadia Bell, #4) by Jenn Bennett . So lucky...

Sandra | 25908 comments Reading The Mystic Wolves (Mystic Wolves, #1) by Belinda Boring by the impossibly named Belinda Boring LOL

message 78: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Jean, it was SOOOOOO good. But, did you know it's the final book in the series? I didn't. I was super bummed. The series has done nothing but improve, but I guess it's nice (for an author) to go out on a high rather than milk a series to death (or past the point of death). Still, I'm holding out hope for a spin-off featuring Jupe! :D

I grabbed the Mystic Wolves prequel freebie awhile ago and thought what a hard last name to have growing up.

I got on a Jaye Wells kick. Bought Dirty Magic (The Prospero's War, #1) by Jaye Wells and read Rusted Veins (Sabina Kane, #5.5) by Jaye Wells and Meridian Six by Jaye Wells .

Not sure what I'll start next. Banishing is a hard book to follow.

I have both of these on my TBR. What did you think Sandra?

message 81: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (last edited Jan 24, 2014 05:11PM) (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Tracy, The Warlord Wants Forever was a re-read for me, and its just like a little taste of the Valkyries & one desperate Forbear Vampire (they don't drink from people). It's a good intro to the series.

As to Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione I started it some time ago, got distracted, and finally got back to it. Now I'm kicking myself I waited that long. Beginning is a little slow, but the world building is good, and the H is a demon doctor. Loved it.

message 82: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments And Steph, so disappointed to hear Banishing is the final book in the series. There was plenty more to explore in that world :(

That could be why she's brought out Bitter Spirits (Roaring Twenties, #1) by Jenn Bennett and the 2nd one is already expected in June. Grim Shadows (Roaring Twenties, #2) by Jenn Bennett

message 85: by Lee (new)

Lee | 357 comments ok so no pics (sorry about that) , but this past week my current reading

just finished the complete set of The Morganville Vampires (15 books)
(I am missing Myrnin already)

Finally finished the Band of Brother series JR Ward. (12 books)
(took me ages to get hold of Lover Reborn)

tonight finished reading Lothaire Kresley Cole

Just started reading Biting Bad Chloe Neill

message 86: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Lee, reading some great series reads there, hope you enjoyed them all :)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Sandra wrote: "And Steph, so disappointed to hear Banishing is the final book in the series. There was plenty more to explore in that world :("

I was thinking the same (re: R20's). Still, I'm gonna miss not having a Cady, Lon & Jupe book to read each year. :(

Read: Darkest Fear (Birthright, #1) by Cate Tiernan Drop Dead Beauty (A Ghost Dusters Mystery #5) by Wendy Roberts Red Rising (Red Rising Trilogy, #1) by Pierce Brown

DF was a disappointment. Maybe my hopes were too high after finishing (and loving) her Immortal Beloved series? Either way, I love feline shifters; I like the author's writing; and the ending left me wondering what was next, so I'll probably read the next book at some point.

DDB was good - better than I'd expected. It kinda felt like she could end the series there, but I'm not sure if it's the finale or not.

RR was such a good book. A must-read for dystopia fans!

message 88: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Red Rising is getting a lot of praise all around.

Finished a couple of Celia Kyle books No Ifs, Ands, or Bears About It (Grayslake, #1) by Celia Kyle Gabriella (Alpha Marked, #2) by Celia Kyle Whitney (Alpha Marked, #3) by Celia Kyle , some The Mystic Wolves (Mystic Wolves, #1) by Belinda Boring A Very Mystic Christmas (The Mystic Wolves) by Belinda Boring and also Sookie Stackhouse Companion by Charlaine Harris which luckily I got from the library.

message 89: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments It's very good, if you like that sorta book.

I've got a bunch of Kyle's books TBR, including those you've listed above. Boring's as well. ;)

message 90: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Whitney ended a bit abruptly, and even though it states a trilogy, there's plenty there to have more, and I think it needs it.

message 91: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I don't like those whiplash endings. I just had one recently and they're a fail for me most of the time. Maybe she'll keep it going.

message 92: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Yeah, I was debating between 3 & 4 stars cause of the ending, but I went with 4 and hope that she'll do more.

I had heard a rumor about Banishing the Dark (Arcadia Bell, #4) by Jenn Bennett being the final book. I had hoped it was a false rumor though... :( But I agree that I'd rather the series go out on a high note. Still though... I'm going to miss the series. :(

message 94: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Now reading Alien Mate 3 (Alien Mate, #3) by Eve Langlais cause I need an A, and some blue man loving. LOL.

message 95: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Definitely hard saying goodbye to Cady and gang!

Read: Up From the Grave (Night Huntress, #7) by Jeaniene Frost Unconditional (Masters and Mercenaries, #5.5) by Lexi Blake

UftG, another finale, was well done. It was nice to see the whole gang back together again for one last mission.

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 25 comments I've read quite a few books already this year. Still working on Dirty Magic (The Prospero's War, #1) by Jaye Wells and With or Without Him by Barbara Elsborg but they just aren't calling to me right now.

So I ended up starting Blood Song (Blood Singer, #1) by Cat Adams because the sample got me interested.

message 97: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Hi, Mello, welcome!

I've got Dirty Magic TBR. I enjoyed her other series - Sabina Kane, so I'm hoping I'll like that one as well.

I've read all but #6 in Adams' Blood Singer series. I've liked some more than others - all at least 3-star reads for me, if not more. Hope you enjoy it.

message 98: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Read a couple of Skin Walkers King (Skin Walkers, #1) by Susan A. Bliler Conn (Skin Walkers, #2) by Susan A. Bliler and I'm about to start #3 Leto (Skin Walkers, #3) by Susan A. Bliler very addictive.

message 99: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I saw the first on your reading list and it sounds interesting, so I picked it up to check out. Glad to hear you're liking the rest too. ;)

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 25 comments Thanks Steph. I've actually read the first 15 or so chapters of Dirty Magic and have been enjoying it, I think I'm just not in the mood for it right now.

I've put of the Blood Singer books for a while and finally went and caved.
