I really don't like the font, its too blurry for me. I don't mind the color but the background is way too bright, there's no consistency in the fonts and too much space in between comments and certain pages look stretched? I've tried viewing on different browsers but there's not much difference.Glad I can at least still use the App and they haven't screwed that up.
They're actively working on the blurriness--it sounds like a font rendering problem. I'm sure they'll figure it out.
Those of you who want to follow updates closely can check out this topic in the Feedback group: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I'm using Chrome on a Macbook and it looks beautiful. I just checked it on Safari and the font is definitely more cramped and I can see how that would give someone a headache. Hopefully they will figure it out quickly!
Is there a banner/icon contest for 2016? I don't think I could create anything cool but it would be fun to vote if that is being done again this year :)
Actually I think they are starting to fixed I have problem reading the announcement was quite difficult but now is quite nice, not sure if my eyes also adjust to the new image....
Zara wrote: "I love the new font look. It's much clearer and easier to read."It was hurtful on the eyes and blurry on my browser yesterday, but today it wasn't and it looked good at least on the laptop :)
Overall I like the design. The font was really hard to read yesterday, but it is much better today. I wish I could remember the old layout/format. Was there so much white? It feels like an unfinished work.
ETA: Oh. I just realized... the color scheme kind of reminds me of a Barnes and Noble bag.

Did anyone happen to notice we have over 7,000 members now! Quite a difference from December 2011 when I was the 12th person to join the group :) Welcome to all the new comers!
Sharon, I can't believe that you were member #12! That is such a cool thing to brag about. :) I think when I joined the group had between 3000-4000 members, but I can't remember. That was almost two years later in late 2013.
Let's see...I joined the group in February 2012 and became a moderator I think in June of that year. I don't know exactly what number I was, but of the members currently still in the group, I'm #142. Some fun member numbers:
November 2011 - Group Formed
June 2012 - 300
December 2012 - 500
December 2013 - 2,000
January 2015 - 5,000
February 2015 - 6K member extravaganza (we meant it to be 5k, but we hit 6k so quickly!)
December 2015 - 7,000
Our group historically gains the most members at the end of December and through January.
I wonder when we'll hit 10k members! Any guesses?
Well then, I was a bit optimistic with how many members there were when I joined. It's kind of crazy to see how much our growth has snowballed over the past several years.I'm going to say August 2016 we'll hit 10k, but that's just a wild guess.
Has somebody see the new widget See your year in Books? Is really fantastic! I hope will increase my stats by the 31st but is beautiful!
No wonder I missed Extrav. Then, I joined in February ^^ It's fun to see the growth in numbers!
Yes, Caro, love it!! It's very optimistic with me thinking I can read over a book a day during Christmas Lol. But this was my first year, so I hope I know more how to reach it next year, and it was so much fun!

I think we will hit 10,000 around 10/10. Because that would be so cool!
I, like Kadijah Michelle, reckon it would be great if we 10k in October. However, going on the stats that Kara provided I wouldn't be at all surprised if we hit 10k well before then. When we do hit 10k are we going to have an even bigger celebration than the 6k one was? Just a thought.
My son is planning to go out with a friend today to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the cinema. I watched about 5 minutes of Star Wars years ago - not my thing I must say.
I'm going to see it on Sunday night. Tomorrow night I'm going to see "White Christmas" at a local small theater that shows classic movies. Two of my friends and I go every year!

TCM is showing a limited release of the original Miracle on 34th Street this weekend, so I'm going to drag my parents to go see it:)
I really want to go see this movie but I don't want to deal with crowds, I'll prob wait. I did hear about some guy who bought out an entire theatre so he would be the only there. if true, wow.
I will go on the 22 to watch it in 4D. Until then I will avoid news and any type of social media (besides Goodreads) I plan to live under a rock. Don't want any spoiler. I bought my tickets 2 months ago and there was not place to seat.
We (me and my husband) are going to see SW next Wednesday! Can't wait! And one fun fact about me: I've born in same year as SW: Episode VI came out!
I'm going to see Star Wars tonight, too! BF is a huge SW buff, and I'm a little more neutral, but still pleased with shiny space things. (We pre-ordered weeks ago and will get some comfortable seats with plenty of space - I totally understand about wanting to avoid stuffy crowds!)
I am going to see Star Wars on Christmas day :) Definitely looking forward to it!
I'm going with my family tomorrow evening! My dad made my brother and I watch the films until we loved them. My brother picked up the DVDs last night to do the same with his three kids to get them ready for the big screen movie:)
Not that I expect anyone to do this, but...If I see anyone on this feed spoiling it, I will delete your post. Just warning you. To those that haven't seen it, we will follow my brother's rule. You have a month from the opening. After that, I can't help it.

The extra contrast is definitely nice, that will make challenges a lot easier to track :)
