Chapter 16 (view spoiler)[ I love the classes and the school. This is so exciting, I love the introduction to this world. Zoey still kind of bothers me sometimes, as do Erin & Shaunee, but it's very minimal now. The Full Moon Ritual is awesome. Seems like there is something a bit darker to Neferet than she is letting on. I hope she doesn't actually turn out to be evil, because Zoey really needs someone to follow as her parents suck. She's definitely special. If this book just focused on the classes and lore, I'd love it so much more but every time they mention being high or a blow job I want to throw my book. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 2 (view spoiler)[I love the whole concept that everyone knows about vampires, and that they're 'made' not 'born' by being Marked by a Tracker. Wonder why she was picked?

And man Heath seems like a dick and Kayla just wanting to get away like that? I mean, I understand why, but Zoe's freaked too! (hide spoiler)]

This is my 4th time reading this (well listening to it in this case), but I'll still comment on it as if I haven't read it before.

Halfway into Chapter 7 (view spoiler)[Oh wow so she's Nyx's eyes and ears, of course the Chosen One. Wonder what special powers she'll have, apart from the full crescent mark less than a day into her fledging.

I love her grandma already <3 Always doing what's best for her.

And of course there'd be a crazy religious character wouldn't there, especially her stepfather and a mean argumentative one at that.

This is so weird, that Stevie-Ray's Southern. This is around the 4th or 5th book in a row I've read/listened to that have Southern characters. Such a coincidence!

Chapter 11 (view spoiler)[Ugh Aphrodite's so frustrating!! Love the way she stood up to her, but that was also really typical. Why can't there be a relatable passive girl? Even though I did just have one of those in my last book and she annoyed me to death :p Just can't win.

Just started Chapter 15 (view spoiler)[Oh look at that of course Erik would be attracted to her, new girl, him being the hottest most popular guy at school. But wait, he's also the perfect gentleman. Bleeeehhhhhh.

I loved that horse chapter :D I love horses too. I used to ride all the time, but haven't ridden a horse in years. That fencing chapter was interesting.

Elliot seems so disrespectful, especially the way he talked to his teacher!

Halfway through Chp19 (view spoiler)[Oh wow so Heath and Kayla?? I mean, it's not that much of a big deal, seeing as Zoe's not around anymore, but man she's such a slut, and Heath is a constant drunk his liver would be so messed up. Besides, he's a minor!

And then Zoe drinking the blood without warning, and that whole scene with Erik. That was cool, but so typical.

And I really liked how she found Nala.

Review: This is the fourth time I've read this book, and there's always parts I forget, but I think each time I read it it gets worse. I remember loving it the first time I read it, but this time, because I knew what was going to happen, it wasn't as intriguing.
My favourite part of the book was when Zoey found Nala. I know it's a strange thing to like, but everything else in the book was totally predictable, and I like how Zoey immediately trusted Nala. Sometimes people need animals in their lives.
Some parts I found weird: (view spoiler)[Erik's wrist kiss, Heath's obsession, Aphrodite's visions, the Elizabeth and Elliot ghosts, Aphrodite's last line 'it's the parts we're supposed to play...' (hide spoiler)]
I was also extremely annoyed when (view spoiler)[Erik obviously falls for Zoey, but of course he's the hot one so it's fine. I mean, what would have happened if Elliot had fallen for her? It would have been described as disgusting and creepy. I mean, it's not like an ugly guy can ever be the main love interest in a book can he??? (hide spoiler)]
It also didn't go down well with me how the main character's always special. I mean, why can't the book be from the special person's friend, or even their enemy! I'm sick of everything always being perfect for the main characters. I know they have shit happen, but it all turns out fine in the end. Annoying yet typical.

i feel the same way. what i dislike the most is the repeated of stuff. Like yes you told me that word means daughter for like the 5th time already. i still liked this over all, just i guess ive just seen this stuff happen so much its just to the point where im like okay can we do something different

35% (view spoiler)[ I read this ages ago and I remember loving it then--I was only 14 or 15 I think--but now that I am re-reading I am kind of appalled that I loved this book. Not even halfway in and I am already extremely disturbed by the negative comments about eating disorders, misconceptions about LGBTQ people, oh and let's not forget, the slut shaming. It's weird--when I first read it, I loved the series, but now that I am older and I am more aware of certain things, I can safely say this book isn't really good for any teens out there.

On a different note, my fifteen year old sister read this book a month or two ago and she had the same complaints I have now, even though when I was her age I was practically drooling over this series. Guess I am doing something right :p

Chapters 1-6: (view spoiler)[Hmm not quite sure how I feel about this book right now. Or on how I feel about Zoey being the main character. I just kind of feel really bad for her right now. I mean Kayla was a terrible friend. Heath was weird and drinking on school property would never be allowed no matter how many games a football team wins. Sorry but I don't believe that scene at all. They just seem like douche bags. Then there's Zoey's family. Her mom and step dad were completely horrible. Are they like in some weird religious cult or something? 'Cause that's the vibe I'm getting right now. I hate how they treated Zoey and I'm actually proud of her for sneaking out of the window and heading to her grandmother - who is the one person who treats her like actual family. Again, this is just sad so far. I hope it picks up or becomes more interesting. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 7-12: (view spoiler)[Is it just me or is everyone super weird in this book? Like Aphrodite? God, I wanted to barf. I don't like her character at all. I do really like Zoey's friends though. Damien, Stevie Rae, Erin, and Shaunee were pretty entertaining and seem like a tight-knit group of friends. I hope their friendships don't change at all.

Oh and now lover boy has a name. He used to date Aphrodite and now Zoey sort of has a weird crush on him?! Oh, and his name is Erik. I don't know how I feel about him but it was creepy how he was staring at her. Or is that just me?
