Are we going to get this one read? It's so long and we've been planning it for so long too. LOL I'm not sure when mine is due back but I think it's still a while.

Oh man, I hope you guys get to this one!!it's one of the only books set in the 1920's that I've actually enjoyed.
and I LOOOOVED IT! I'm dying for book 2!
My fingers are crossed for you guys! I hope you are able to squeeze it in!
Yeah I don't even know if the second book is out yet but if it is then I'll need to re-read this one. XD
Yeah, I read the first 100 pages or so and I remember that it reminded my of
and
I don't remember the guy that was killing people but yeah, it was really creepy!! lol! :D
Maddison, I think you are thinking of
but this one has much spooky paranormal activity and both are similar.
Yes. I think (if I remember correctly) that it's due back on the 28th. I'll check when I get home (babysitting Jake while Becky took the 3 older kids to a movie) and then set a schedule up. It's a huge book! Lol
Here is the one Trisha & Co. used in the last thread. If you think it's too much per day we can dial it down. Whatever you want to do is good by me! :DDay 1: A Late-Summer Evening - The Hearts of Men
Day 2: Things Not Said - Life and Death
Day 3: The House on the Hill - The Tombs
Day 4: Pack Up Your Troubles - Everything Will Be Fine
Day 5: A Goodly Heritage - Sitting on Top of the World
That's about 115 pages a day and I have some books I have to get back but my list is at home. We can try for that and see how it goes. I'll double check the due date when I am home and let you know.
Okay, here is the schedule that you and I agree on, Kathy. I think it's more doable for me and possibly you too. And you or I can always read ahead if we find the time. I'll be much less likely to fall behind with this 10 day schedule...not full proof though! LOLDay 1 (4/14): Pg. 1-59
Day 2 (4/15): Pg. 60-123
Day 3 (4/16): Pg. 124-175
Day 4 (4/17): Pg. 176-232
Day 5 (4/18): Pg. 233-292
Day 6 (4/19): Pg. 293-347
Day 7 (4/20): Pg. 348-405
Day 8 (4/21): Pg. 406-463
Day 9 (4/22): Pg. 464-520
Day 10 (4/23): Pg. 521-578
Haha! That looks messy but I'm not redoing it. LOL
Kathy, I'm getting a cold and so I had the most difficult time last night staying awake, so I went to bed. LOL I'm only on page 20, but I had to stop and tell you something. This book just made me think of my mother whose nickname (but the ONLY name anyone ever knew her by) was Hebe. On page 20 it uses the expression "heebie jeebie blues." Well, (hope Mom isn't listening from above or she'll strangle me!) Mom's birth name was Elsie Lenore but my grandmother said Mom would never respond to Elsie or Lenore, so my grandma would say in a high pitched voice, "Heebie Jeebie!" and my mom would look at her and stop what she was doing and smile, so that is how she got her nickname of HEBE that stuck with her forever. :o)
Oh no! I hope you feel better soon! I haven't started yet, but I'm off tomorrow so I have all day to catch up!
OMG! That is so funny! Children can be so hilarious sometimes! lol! :D
I got day one's reading finished, so this covers pages 1-59.Evie: (view spoiler)

Kathy, I assume you aren't too far into this book yet. I'm in our day 2 reading somewhere and plan to read today and tomorrow. I am going to adjust the schedule if it's okay with you and just pretend were on day 3 instead of 5. lOLDoes this work for you? I have until the 28th to finish it before I have to return it to the library. We can always read more, but if I start today as day 3 I won't feel as behind. LOL
Day 3 (4/18): Pg. 124-175
Day 4 (4/19): Pg. 176-232
Day 5 (4/20): Pg. 233-292
Day 6 (4/21): Pg. 293-347
Day 7 (4/22): Pg. 348-405
Day 8 (4/23): Pg. 406-463
Day 9 (4/24): Pg. 464-520
Day 10 (4/25): Pg. 521-578
Yep! New schedule looks good!I was already about 100 pages in when I stopped last summer. So I will catch up to you in no time! :D
I'm OFF schedule AGAIN!!! I'm so sorry Kathy...I'm a lousy buddy right now!! And there's no way I'll get up to page 347 today, so I'll just read whatever I can and finish it by the 28th when it has to go back to the library! LOL Label me LOSER! lol
Well, I can't do that because then I would be a loser too! lol!So like you said just finish on your own time and I have until May 2 before my copy goes back, so I think that is a good plan! :D
okay! I think I'm caught up now! lol!My copy doesn't have pages numbers like the book does, it only has pages numbers for the chapters. So I just finished the chapter 'It's Just the Bennington, Dear'

Did you get to renew your copy?
I went and re-checked this one out. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to for some reason. So I'll get back into it.
Ok! Sounds good! I have until May 5 before it goes back. I don't think I can renew it, but I will check when I get closer to the date. :)
Kathy, I don't think I can get it read by when you have to return it because I have three books that are due back next week. All I can say is that I have to figure out how to coordinate my school work with my reading schedule. Right now we are doing Romeo and Juliet at school so there's a lot of work for me to do. The end of the school year (anyone who teaches can vouch for this) is CRAZY with the end of the year stuff we have to do getting all of our papers and grades etc. in order and our yearbooks come out two weeks from today so I currently am bogged down with phone calls from parents and students dropping in to buy books, etc. I also have training again at the district this next Monday and Tuesday (or Tues and Wed) so I'm just going to have to do my best. LOL
Oh yeah, and yesterday my 17 year old granddaughter texted me with a "Grams, let's hang out this weekend." So I'm picking her up tomorrow and she's spending the night. We'll hit a movie (probably Divergent or Heaven is for Real). But she is worth all the tea in China! LOL
Vicki, I understand perfectly! I can only imagine how crazy it is for you right now. It's all good! No need to worry! We can reschedule if you want I can get the hardcover from my library if I need to. Aw! That's sweet! Heaven is for Real sounds good! But Divergent was so freaking awesome!! You will have to tell me which one you went to see and how you liked it! I hope you have a great time! :D
Where are you in this book? Julianna and I ended up seeing Divergent. I really loved it! I thought it was well done. :o)
I'm not sure! lol!My ebook copy from my library only has page numbers for the chapters, so I just finished chapter 'It's Just the Bennington, Dear'
I'm think I'm at the same place as you are, unless you have read more? lol!!
Wasn't it awesome!! I need my own copy so I can watch it over and over and over and over!! lol! :D
Hey there! :) I think I'll be safer with the 10 day schedule, and I'm in the middle of day 2. So I'll read day 2 today, day 3 tomorrow, etc. I'll fix the dates later. Babysitting and nail/pedicure after so it'll be about 3:00 my time.Happy Mothers Day a day early!! :)
ok! Sounds good! Could you put the chapter titles with page numbers, please? My ebook copy from my library is wierd! lol!! The page numbers start over with every new chapter! lol! Aw! Thank you! And Happy (early) Mother's Day to you too! :D
