Yes, I see that. It was probably while discussing one of these books that we made our GR connection. Hehe
Hmm... other than Discworld, these would all be new to me.Nope, nope nope, nope, nope - Stop it Nyssa!
*Walking away now!*
Yes, Nyssa. I see that we're going to be adding to the problem at least as much as helping it. I'm seeing books on peoples' lists that I am tempted to start too.Like the Chalion,

I'm exercising as much control as I possibly can.
Other people's lists are making me want to start new things as well. It's evil.

Sooo true.
We're the worse.

Note: I could have scored the "completed book and sequel" technically, but I don't feel right getting that bonus for a short story. I'll hold off on those points until Firefight comes out in the Fall.

I've decided that (for me) short stories are too easy and shouldn't gain the same points/credits as novels. So I'm just taking 2 points for each story. If I read 10 of these in a month, I'll count that towards one of the two book credit goals. (If I haven't finished two novels by then)This is tailoring, not a required change for everyone.

Here I penalized myself for starting a short story series at -2, to match the points I decided to go with for short stories that aren't firsts. And I borrowed Emily's idea of the short review.

Ah..I was wondering why the negative 2. Thanks for explaining.
Seemed reasonable since I dropped the reward points. And this was the start of a series.I still feel weird getting review points for a short story. It took me longer to write that tiny review than it did to read the story. Heh

Well if it took longer than technically you put more work/time/effort into it, therefore you deserve the points. :)

This is a bit frustrating to look at. My first post has lots of pics of books. Looks great, at first glance. But of those I've completed, 3 are graphic novels, 8 are short stories, 3 are re-reads, 1 was a DNF, and 1 didn't count as it was a 1st.
So going by my original intent of completing series books, I've now finished ONE 200 page book. Whoop-di-doo....
Oh, I'm reading two right now, and they're both 1sts.
You are cracking me up. You can do it! It's only February!! I found that creating a "series to finish" shelf helped. When I'm stuck on what to read next, I browse that first and see if anything catches my eye (something usually does...).

I keep looking at my list and I'm like...damn. It's S L O W going.

I have one of those. I seem to make it a point to ignore it.
Though that damn 'series to start' shelf gets plenty of action.
