Hello James. I see you mention Sci-Fi in your favourite book types. Have you read any Alfred Bester novels?
The Stars My Destination is a highly inventive fast-paced Sci-Fi classic and great escapism. I read it earlier this year, my first proper attempt at the genre, and it blew me away.

I have not read any Alfred Bester so will add to my TBR list and help me meet my challenge to read at least 10 new authors within my ABC challenge. Thank you for the recommendation. Like Heinlein and Clarke and have read all the original Dune series.
I like all the E E 'Doc' Smith books which I think are more space opera, but great fun.

I just finished Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie which you might enjoy. It was published in October and is getting quite a lot of buzz. I'll be surprised if it doesn't get some prize noms this year.

I understand it is different to the films. Although the Kenneth Brannagh interpretation is closer to the book. I am looking forward to reading it. Have to read dracula next. Two classics of the genre.

The Mephisto Club by Tess Gerritsen i found to be a very interesting read. It's a kind of a sequel with a couple of other books by the same author eg,The Killing and Last to Die. I am a fan of this author and have read some of her non sequel novels too.

Hi James, awesome challenge to set yourself and you are clearly going to make it! The only one on your list I have read is Frankenstein which I love. When you have finished maybe you could recommend some.

Struggling to finish in the year as I took my eye of the ball. Books I would recommend are The Book Thief (Marcus Zusak) and The Thief Taker (C S Quinn). Both new authors to me and very good stories.
