Sabrina Winters Rest In Peace Ned Vizzini. You were a wonderful writer with so much talent. The power of your stories and the accurate portrayal of human emotions mad for some of the best books I read. Thank you for your gift of wonderful literature to the world. Even now my friend is reading It's Kind Of A Funny Story, and is astounded by your writing. Thank you.

Bird Lemanski Wow. I finished reading It's Kind of A Funny Story On Thursday. That kinda gives me chills a little. Rest in Peace Vizzini. You will be remembered through your stories. I only wish you had the strength to walk back to that hospital again. You were loved and are still. I hope your troubled soul is at peace.

Thank you for giving me a place to escape to Ned Vizzini, RIP <3

Jackie He was a truly beautiful human being with a truly beautiful talent. Isn't it sad that in a world full of adoring fans, there was not one who truly loved him. Maybe wherever he goes he will find that one true love and be happy, finally.
RIP

Molly What awful news. He was very talented, and I was horrified to hear about his suicide. My love goes out to his wife during this time of grief.

Ned Vizzini, you helped a lot of kids through bad times. I really wish you could've helped yourself too. I never met you, but I can tell you're an amazing person. You're in a better place now, I guess. Rest in Peace.

Rach Very sad to hear, rest in peace . Please if you are suffering from depression don't suffer in silence, seek help from a friend or a professional, and remember the overwhelming stage is temporary. People please pay attention to those around you.

Kelseyc The story hit me hard and got me through my own tough times. He was a brave man and an outstanding author. Rest in peace. You will not be forgotten

Kels He didn't just 'die tragically', he died by suicide. I think it is important to make people aware of this fact, especially since what Ned Vizzini was trying to do through his books was raise awareness of suicide and mental illness. These are real issues that affect more people than you could ever imagine, and it is important to talk about it. His stories helped me and thousands of others through tough times, and will continue to do so through his words. Although his story is a tragic one, ours doesn't have to be. Know that there is nothing shameful about mental illness and that there is help and hope to get better. Rest in Peace Ned Vizzini <3

Maanasa I just read It's Kind of A Funny Story about a month ago. Thank you Ned for your books. Your stories carried powerful messages and will always be an inspiration for people going through tough times. I hope you have finally found peace.

Micah Manalese Ned, the man whose book I happened to choose because of the title, thank you. Your writing appeared at the optimal moment of my angst-filled self. Your words made yourself so vulnerable and so lovable. Most of all you single-handedly broke my teenage ego-centrism and reminded me to live. You redefined life for me. Redefined living meant not being able to draw maps or being below average. Life meant creating a "kind of funny story". As Ralph Waldo Emerson put it, "success- to laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived; this is to have succeeded". Ned Vizzini, you made me look past my shit and breathe. For that, I will be forever indebted to your writing. RIP Ned.

Sammy Young I can hardly believe this, I only finished "It's Kind Of A Funny Story" the other day, and found it so uplifting and inspirational. This is a truly tragic thing to see and hear of. I'm lost for words...

Amber Man, I just found out about Ned. Needless to say, its so crazy to believe. And only at the age of 32.... Ned will always be in my prayers, as will his family. "It's Kind Of A Funny Story" opened my eyes to the blessing I have. I just wish Ned could see his and recognize there's a better way to get out of depression. R.I.P Ned
