I think it is important to make people aware of this fact, especially since what Ned Vizzini was trying to do through his books was raise awareness of suicide and mental illness. These are real issues that affect more people than you could ever imagine, and it is important to talk about it. His stories helped me and thousands of others through tough times, and will continue to do so through his words. Although his story is a tragic one, ours doesn't have to be.
