Large Book Data Import

(The Fault in Our Stars -> Fault in Our Stars, The)
(An Abundance of Katherines -> Abundance of Katherines, An)

found two TestASIN imported a couple of days ago

also these two seem to be left over from before...

Not sure what to do here. [Well aside from adding the book without the ASIN, but I think the issue needs to be addressed not swept over. There should be an available ASIN for the record to be created.]
This book: Little Witch shows the ISBN-10/13. Which matches the Amazon page for the Kindle edition ASIN: B00E25G3G4
Normally the imports have been showing both ISBN/ASIN and you can go in open and save the record with the ASIN showing to overwrite the duplicate of the ISBN/ASIN. However on this one if you edit, nothing shows up for ASIN.
There is weird changes from ONIX overwriting things, one of the things being the book type was changed from Kindle to Unknown Binding. It appears to have add the ISBN, don't know if it over wrote an ASIN or it was blank. If you search WorldCat it shows an ebook with the ISBN from Skyhorse Publishing. So I'm not overly inclined to change this book to an Amazon Kindle, as I think an ebook with this ISBN does exist outside of Kindle land. So I went to add a new book for the Kindle version with the ASIN. It won't let me save, saying that ASIN is in use already. If you search by ASIN it opens this record. I can't see the ASIN, but clearly something has been mucked up.

Usually goodreads can accept the data from publisher page...

Thanks DA, I was fairly certain that some ebook not "unknown binding" did exist. Still would like to add the Kindle using the ASIN.
Is Skyhorse the publisher? As the Onix removed that as well.
What a mess.
Can we flag all of Onix's changes ;) Will that get any attention.

Sorry for the cross-posting; image coding slowed me down.

Like.

amazon_kcw imported these with author "Emblem Editions" rather than the actual author.

I imagine the change can just be reverted, but is there a way to prevent the imports/feeds from overwriting legitimate data in the future?

Working onDone creating the ebook edition that that should have been assigned to.

Thank you!

That sort of import was fixed several months ago, so it doesn't happen any longer. Unfortunately, the fixes are not retroactive.

I can't see the dates for the import's changes anymore, since Philip fixed the edition, but I'm 99% sure that the import made the changes this month. I only shelved the book on September 2, 2014, at which point in time it had the correct ASIN information. (That's the only way I would have found it, since I search by ASIN and confirm before shelving.) But by today, that information had been overwritten by the import.
The import changed the ISBN (and thus "hid" the ASIN) on Nov. 19, 2013: https://www.goodreads.com/book/edits/...
Any later edits were due to that problematic one.

ah, ok, thank you! Glad to know it won't be happening anymore.

This should be changed so that it gets imported as an empty field rather than zero.

I also frequently see 0 as the number of pages for ebooks. I see it frequently enough that the problem seems likely to be in more import feeds than just the Amazon one. (Or there are a lot of 0-wielding librarians out there.) Some ebooks don't have listed/standard page numbers, but my understanding has always been that the field should then be blank, not 0.

But we still want it to be Anonymous?

Philip, if they are not recent imports (and they should not be), it's fine to just delete them. If they are recent (within the last 30 days or so), then please do report them here.

Thanks.

Are these recent imports? I don't believe we have a current source for those to be imported.

The imports should be doing the work of importing both ISBNs. Librarians shouldn't have to.
And another example, from amazon_kcw:

It's better to revert the first image change that was post-publication, which I have done.
