Frank Tayell (franktayell) | 16 comments Hello,

I'm the author of Surviving The Evacuation, a post-apocalyptic zombie series, and I'm looking for Beta readers for Book 2. Obviously I'd provide copies of the first book (in .mobi or .pdf) for anyone who is able to help me out.
Book 1 is 70,000 words, Book 2 is 80,000 and is finished, and has gone to the proofreaders for one final go through.
My concern is this. The first book (which is actually doing rather well in the UK) features one character struggling for survival on his own, with almost no dialogue. Book 2 is very different, it features other different survivors, dialogue, guns and cars. Most people reading book 2 would, i imagine be reading it just hours or days after finishing book 1, and I'm worried that the two books don't gel together.

Book 1 (amazon)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FGV3X7A

Book 1 Synopsis

The outbreak started in New York. Within days the infection had spread to every corner of the world. Nowhere is safe from the undead...

Bill watched from his window as London was evacuated. His leg broken, he is unable to join the exodus. Turning to his friends in the government, he waits and hopes for rescue. As the days turn into weeks, realising inaction will lead only to starvation and death, his thoughts turn to escape.

Forced to leave the safety of his home he ventures out into the undead wasteland that once was England, where he will discover a horrific secret.

Book 2 Synopsis (from the top of my head, I've still got to work this one out)

Billions were infection. Millions were killed. The evacuation failed.
Bill Wright continues his search for answers, as he meets other survivors, rescues and is rescued, is betrayed and redeemed, on his journey to Lenham Hill.

So if you can help me out, then reply to the message or PM me. Thanks for your time.

Hey Frank,
I can give the first book a try & if I like it, I'll beta the next one. Also, did you post in this group?

Frank Tayell (franktayell) | 16 comments Great, thanks. If you could email me, frank.tayell@gmail.com, and I'll send you a .mobi of the first book (I was going to send you a private message, but can't seem to find the button, or open the link in your message, I think it's either my computer or having spent far too long editing these past few months!)

I'm just doing tweaking some of the dialogue at the moment but will be in touch in a few hours.
