She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb is a great book... you shoul really consider reading it.

I think it was a slog for everyone, Judy, but there were some good parts too. I liked Bro William too. You might catch the movie version w/Sean Connery if your library has it. It wasn't too bad. What I thought was interesting was the setting.

Yes. I know most people found those descriptions about philosophy and history a bit too "academic", but I enjoyed it a lot (I´m weird like that, I´m afraid). Many critics said there is at least two books within The Name of the Rose: One lightly and one heavier...

Yes. You could read the lighter version omitting completely the other stuff, and you wouldn't be missing nothing from the main story

Interesting comments about Name of the Rose. I must say I don't think I'll bother reading it any time soon. Too much else higher on the list. Good to know tho.
