Finished! (view spoiler)[ I actually like it. I give it a solid 3 Stars. This book was a page turner, fast paced and to the point. The world could use more work and explanations but it was has good foundation. Same thing with the story. It’s interesting. I’m curious why people have abilities and powers. I never got the answer as to why both Juliette’s love interests can touch her. Who else can touch her and why? What’s really happening out there in the world? There’s so much potential for this series and I really hope it delivers.

Probably my favorite aspect of the story was Warner. He’s such an interesting character. Yes he is portrayed as the antagonist for this book but so much of him dictates a human being. A human that’s been broke by the chaos of the world. I can already tell that he’s not the villain in this series. There are so many more secrets about this world and about Warner. I’m so pissed at Juliette for not seeing the good and potential in Warner. Honestly if she doesn’t want him. I’ll take him.

The worst and probably the reason why this book will never reach beyond 3 stars is the main character. Juliette was such a weak and pathetic main character. She was also so contradictory. She claims she hates Warner and everything he says. But she also admits that everything he’s said and done is right. Yes she’s had a hard upbringing and she doesn’t want to hurt others. There’s nothing wrong with not wanting to hurt others but it doesn’t mean that nothing can be done about it. She never even tried to learn about her powers or see if she can control it to not make it lethal. She just took everything. Reminds of Cinderella actually. Then she arrives at sector 45 and she’s finally all fiesty and she still doesn’t do shit. Even when they were escaping. She was finally useful when she had to get rid of Warner and save Adam but it took 300 pgs for that to happen.

Ohhh and don’t get me started on the cliches. Super cliche romance moments and omg the insta love was so bad. I have read many MANY books with insta love but this was just....ughh. I think I’ve mentioned it before but Juliette and Adam kept saying I love you halfway through the book. Funny thing is, Juliette even admitted that she didn’t know what saying I love you meant. Oh yeah and Juliette spend so much more time and barely any time at all with Adam and she managed to fall in love with him in those little moments that they have. Ughhhhh

Yep agree with all of that. (view spoiler)[ I already ranted about Juliette (so I’ll try not to get into another rant) but yeah everything you said on top of that I agree with. Such a weak character.
I also don’t like how she gains all her self-esteem based on the men around her. She hates herself in the beginning and only starts to see herself in a less negative light because Adam and Warner are CONSTANTLY telling her “you’re so beautiful and smart and brave and strong”. Juliette should build her own self-worth and learn to love herself rather than let others do it for her. This isn’t a good lesson to teach teen girls. (hide spoiler)]

Yeah I didn’t get that either but it made more sense in Destroy Me. He’s really just trying to find someone that was just as hurt as he was in his world. And someone that can understand him. Someone that he also understand and can care for.

I think it gets better, but if you really didn't like the premise I'm not sure you'll like the others. I feel like Juliette has some growth and gets somewhat less annoying.
