Bryan457 | 285 comments I recently listened to Deal Breaker, and absolutely loved Myron's clever, wisecracking, smart aleck comments. I think he has a irresistible impulse to antagonize and annoy his adversaries.

Do you know of any more books where a main character spouts off with clever, wisecracking, smart aleck comments?

Joseph (bluemanticore) | 433 comments You might like Kevin J. Anderson's Dan Shambles series. It starts with Death Warmed Over and is about zombie private investigator, his ghost girlfriend/secretary, and his human lawyer partner.

Dylan (dyarch) | 138 comments The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie. That's probably the main character's defining attribute.

MaryJanice Davidson has most of her mc's like that. Betsy, in the Queen Betsy books, all the characters from her Alaskan Royalty series--actually, I can't think of any of her books where the MC ISN'T like that.

Pamela Love | 1510 comments Robert B. Parker's Spenser novels, if you like mysteries.

Harry Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat novels, if you like science fiction.

Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels about witches, if you like fantasy.

Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden is like that too. Harry is the only professional wizard in the entire yellow pages of Chicago. It's set in "our" world, but magic really works, and Harry is a wizard. Interesting series. Oh, word of warning Storm Front is not only the first book in the series--it was also the first book that Butcher ever sold, so it's a bit slow and repetitious. After it, they get much better.
