Thanks! I am so far. :) I find the episodes where the show tries to do an action-based standalone story a bit weak, but I love the cast and the 'mytharc' and more political episodes. I'm told it's a bit more serialised from season two onwards, so I'm looking forward to getting there.

Bab 5 does a good job of slowly building the overall story. It was geared to be a 5 year series. They told them in the 4th year that they wouldn't be renewed so they had to "hurry up" the plot in the 4th year. Ironically the ratings went up so much that year that 5the network then renewed them for a 5th year...

Christa, I agree with everything you wrote about the bad boy stuff. That's why I threw the quotation marks around it, because these authors don't seem to realize that there's a difference from the type that you describe and abusive, controlling, jerks. You just said it much better than the nebulous "me-no-likie" alarm that goes off in my head is able to express!

@Nyssa - I used to get a lot of games from Big Fish. That's where I discovered my favorite PopCap games. (I still love Bookworm.) These days I get my HOG fix from Pogo or stuff I pick up on sale at Steam.

ME2 crashed on me a minute ago. Which is why I'm taking a moment to check the thread. I should go to bed but it's Saturday so I think I need to run one more mission against alien bad guys.

Hubby also likes Steam, especially since there is no subscription.

My only complaint about Big Fish games is that so many have gone to a "dark","spooky", "dramatic" theme. It's getting a little more difficult to find light- hearted fun that isn't 100 years old and/or cheesy as hell.

The story in 2 Tasty Too is pretty cheesy, but seeing the different recipes is cool.

I had a show tonight, and we went out to Chiles afterwards, where I had my first ever blackberry margarita. It was pretty yummy, and I'm slightly buzzed.

As for It's a Wonderful Life, I like the movie, but it's definitely overplayed in my opinion.

I feel you. I've dated "bad boys," too. That went to college and got good grades and took me to meet their mamas.

But to me it seems that some authors/genres enjoy making abusive people into heroes and doormats into heroines. Which is crazy to me.

I read a blog post (can't remember where) that said books like this are taking the place of soap operas for readers who like that kind of thing. Which leaves me a bit confused since I don't watch soap operas. I only sorta get the reference.

I've been working on moving my bookcases upstairs. They were downstairs in the dining-room-that-isn't-because-it's-my-library, but The Boy is getting together with one of his friends who is a carpenter and will be making me custom shelves. So all of the books have to find new homes temporarily.

The plus is that the house gets a bit of a re-org, so that the bookcases can fit in upstairs... and I think I may keep them up there (The Boy just doesn't know it yet... MWAHAHAHA!!). Which means that I'm going to have tons of shelf space for more books.

Just put the tree up in the front windows (we went to a smaller four foot tree when we moved here after my wife passed). Probably get it decorated tomorrow.

Our Tom Romeo curled up under it as soon as it was up. I forgot how much he loved it. He slept under it last year to. It's a small 4 footer setting on a couple of small tables we pushed together with a small tree skirt. he curls up on the tree skirt.

I have two cats. One is a little perfect angel and he's named for a demon. The other one is a little demon and his name is Angel... go figure. We haven't had a "real" tree in years because of space. But I can just picture coming home to a war zone. Tree through the window... ornaments broken... glass everwhere...

Cats are so lucky we love them. Lol.

lol... we aren't going to decorate them except maybe a saying of lights. the cats just get to play in them. they are indoor only so we think it'll be nice.

I don't have any glass ornaments on my tree. But every time I come home there are three or four ornaments in their water bowl. And it doesn't matter how long I'm gone. If I leave for 15 minutes there is an ornament in the water bowl.
